I'm so curious about the Intensifeyes wand...would you be interested in making a swatching video (like on your arm) where you just use the wand with some shades from all past palettes? I mean that's a lot of effort so no hard feelings if no :)
I wasn’t expecting a rainbow - that’s not Pat’s vibe. But I was expecting something a bit more creative and different from the last two Motherships. I own all of her other Motherships. This is the first one I have no interest in owning. If I do eventually get it it will be when she has one of her big sales. I do however want that mixing medium pen. But I will always watch your Pat reviews and comparisons Alicia!
I hear that! At the same time, many ppl have expressed that this palette was the perfect fusion of DR I + DR II. And now they're ready to jump on the Pat McGrath bandwagon 😂 As much as I would love for her to challenge the rose story, I know it's because she still wants those customers who haven't taken the dive yet.
If Pat made an entire palette of her special shades, she’d have people going crazy with excitement!!!! I’ve been begging for this since her very first palette 💜

My first video back on this side , because this caught my attention..and it's sooooo beautiful 😭 and this is why I left.... because I waaaaannnt it. I need it!! It's just never that serious to lash out, especially at TH-cam creators such as Alicia just because they don't like a COLOR STORY. If this was my first mothership, I would have purchased it. Because I have others, I don’t see the need. I definitely wanted this palette to give more!
Color story wise, Mothership IX feels so much more like a full version of Fleur Fantasy than either of the Divine Rose Motherships. It’s a fairy palette, not a rose.
I own almost every single mothership palette and was going to pass on this because thought I had these colors in her other palettes. But….you’re making me see I don’t have all these shades. Loving your looks. 💕💕💕
I have all the first 8 Mothership palettes so I know I am eventually going to get this but definitely not right now, I love your excitement and passion for PMG shadows afterall I fell in love with her shadows and formula because of you so it's nice to see what the palette can do. I enjoyed the demo and can't wait for more looks with the palette .

Thanks for the video. The intensifying stick makes everything pretty holographic, in my opinion, in line with her inspo photos. There was pink everywhere in those photos, we had to know. It's a beautiful palette, but still too close to Divine Rose 2 for me to buy. I don't own all of her motherships and would rather get a different one, since I own DR2. However, Pat keeps putting beauty into the world, and that is something not many can do. I love how out of the ordinary Pat's shadows are, but it is true that everybody is always bothered by something with her shadows. Some people don't like her mattes (What the hell!) because they are too pigmented. No matter that they blend like a dream and you can create a soft look without effort if you wish. Everybody always makes a point about the price of her palettes, while they aren't much more expensive than many on the market, and certainly more affordable compared to a Tom Ford quad or whatever. Not counting the amazing sales Pat does. If it's too "out there" it's not an everyday palette, if it's too ordinary, it is too much of an everyday palette. It's like she can't win. Nobody cried when Natasha Denona released the Zendo palette, which is half Sunset palette and half Gold palette. And Denona doesn't even come close to Pat, in my opinion. Somehow, now Pat is a "NO NO" for most youtubers (and people). Sorry for the rant, I just love the artistry of Pat and feel she deserves more love.
It's the very fact that they're so pigmented that makes us melanated ladies love her work so much, because Mother (being a black woman herself) *understands* the need for pigment. Period. I don't want to hear anyone say a thing about how pigmented they are until they call out Natasha for making half the shades in most of her palettes colours that would be ashy on anyone darker than Alicia. Mother has been consistently delivering something so pigmented that darker people can use, but also so blendable that a vampire could get away with it. For the formula and the shades and the ingenuity, she's not charging us enough money quite frankly, and anyone who wants to speak down on her can kick rocks, because who else would give us what we needed in the way?
The palette is beautiful on its own. But it's hard to justify the cost when half of the shades can be duped by combining rose I & II. It goes to show that Pat is focusing on attracting new clients instead of surprising existing ones. The color combos of her earlier mothership pallets were creative yet coherent, always a pleasant surprise. This palette may be where I stop being a pmg collector.
This comment is how I feel. I just want half the palette. I'm literally on TH-cam trying to see the colors because I want to keep collecting but it does seem so unnecessary
I just discovered you this week and I love how you approach Pat's palettes! You make them seem so approachable, it is fun to watch! I just placed my first ever order with Pat McGrath and bought Huetopian Dream (you made me do it haha) and Bronze seduction! I have been eyeing Bronze seduction for YEARS but could never justify the cost. With the sale I decided to bite the bullet and purchase both! Treat yo self, right!?! Alicia you are the BEST reviewer of PMG. Nobody makes such informative comparison swatches. We need that smash video and more tutorials of this palette.
Does anyone think that Divine Rose is rounding out as a Trilogy? Hopefully… And one way to look at it may be: one DR may work better for a range of skin tones, aesthetic, etc. while DR2 is brighter and appeals to xyz. It would make more sense that way to me I guess. I also think the inspiration teasers and palettes may tend to be around the special shades. P.S. Was going to wait for bigger sale, but when the release email came out, I Went ahead and got it because I’m apparently a collector now. So excited to see your video so soon!!
I'm crying but laughing over this comment...her newest MTHSP-all pink/mauve palette- without any baked or crazy special shades. I'm so sad. I did snag this palette new for 55 bucks so at least I would take this one over the newest Sunlit Seduction. Talk about the biggest let down ever. I'm going to be really bummed if all of her palettes are warm pinky mauves from now on
I would love to see you swatch and play with some of the newer Terra Moons iridescent and grey based multichromes; not just as a comparison to the PML triochromes, but because they’re excellent single transformative shades that fill a different area of the “makeup space”. Other indie brands do similar shadows as well, but I haven’t tried them so I can’t personally speak to their quality. JD Glow galaxy shadows might also be fun for you to try too! I think it might be helpful to present some additional options for those looking to capture something reminiscent of the “PML magic shades” to those who can’t afford the full Pat Mothership experience. Love your content and excited to see Huetopian Dream in action. You’re eye looks are killer as always!

I was originally considering passing on this, but your swatches make me realize it’s actually everything I wanted divine rose 1 to be since it actually pulls a little to gray on my pale skin. And I love divine rose 2, but it’s not very pink on me (sextraterrestrial actually loses its duochrome on me and just looks dark and muddy). Actually really looking forward to this palette now despite being originally disappointed that the advertised concept was so deceptive. You are so beautiful and I just love your personality! ❤️
Same here, Kelly! I’m also very fair and haven’t been able to put my finger on why DRI and DRII were just a little off… your description is spot on! DRI pulls a little grey, and DRII can be a bit muddy! They are both *stunning* but where I’m very fair, there was something just a bit off! I wasn’t going to get this palette, but it’s now in my cart!
Interesting that you say that about the DRII duo chrome. I am medium deep (darker than Alicia) and my first impression was the same. Didn't seem to work on my skintone. Seemed muddy. I have a much better appreciation for the palette, especially the coppery rose tones, but I was underwhelmed at first until I did my first real look which didn't really emphasize the duo chrome anyways.

Exactly! I get my money's worth out of expensive palettes and this will be no exception now that I've seen her video. Hers is the 1st one I've watched on this palette and I think she really explores them deeply. Rock solid review!
I have to say, when I saw the reveal for this palette I was kinda disappointed. I was hoping for a different color scheme. Maybe some new greens and blues, or some peachy/coraly/apricot shades of the blitz and astral formulas? Idk. Still a beautiful pallet though. Love the looks you created. ♥️
@@aliciaarcher True, Sublime does have that peachy VR shade, but I think Subversive’s is way more pink. I would have loved to see a Blitz Coral shade or an Astral orange. The promos made me think of something like that. Maybe she’ll give me that one day lol
I think this palette is perfect for those that don’t own the two divine rose motherships or are collectors. Pat has two camps: those that want wearable and those like me who also like to look like a unicorn threw up on our eyes occasionally. I have the two divine roses and am not a collector so I think I’m sitting this one out. Gorgeous palette though.
I like it! I would have chosen Huetopian Dream over Divine Rose II if it had been released as a trio. I think I’m going to get the most use out of this palette, out of the three.

I'm looking forward to adding this to my collection but I foresee this being less received than Midnight Sun. Especially with a shade that pretty much requires another product in order to make it work. If it was a $60 something palette with more shades I could see it sliding but at $125 for 10, every shade needs to count.
I already know that I’m going to love this pallet because the triochrome is deeper. I ordered my palette yesterday morning, and now I’m wishing I would’ve ordered the stick 😩🤦🏿♀️🤷🏿♀️. For me, I need the more intense colors like shockwave for my deeper skin tone. Can’t wait until my palette comes so I can do some lewks 🥰🙌🏿☺️! So glad that you got PR! Now that I've calmed down and watched the video lol I want to say great job showing what the palette can do. This is the first time I've held off buying a Pat palette and I'm not quite sure if I will end up with this but if I do it'll be at a sale price. The shades are gorgeous but most of them aren't what I need right now. On top of that I'm not really going anywhere and getting dolled up. I do wish that Shockwave, Venusian Orchid and Astral Amethyst Moon were in a quad because I actually would snatch that up. The most exciting part of this launch to me is that stick because I was just about to buy more NYX glitter glue but this is even better.

This launch made me realise that being in beauty may be sometimes overly emotional, up to toxic. Makeup is such an unnecessary thing, frankly speaking - it is not water or primary supplies one cannot live without. It is not even socially required these days. So I feel people tend to overrreact, see connotations, intentions, hints that are just not there! Like it is just for fun! The palette is great, and I don’t see why someone should be negative because “Mother did not meet expectations”. You have all the reasons to be excited, and beyond that))) That being said, I won’t be buying it straight away, as I have to adult and shop my stash a bit!))

As someone who works a nine to five in a corporate office, most days I’m wearing very “safe” make up looks…but as a make up lover, I enjoy getting out of my comfort zone and playing so this will be a great palette for me!

I have a lot in mind lol This one is more wearable than bronze seduction which is considered the highest ranked for more people! Again no matter what the shades are with pat, less intensity will make them wearable! In my mind, with pat it’s all about the whhhhooole experience and being creative playing with all of these, i always say we shouldn’t look at hers from a consumer perspective! Added to cart 😂💕
Bronze Seduction is a fav among many, and I’m definitely the outlier with that 🤣 I agree that each palette still comes with its own dial of intensity that makes it easy to use.

I’ve been checking for this video all dayyyyy so excited to watch it!!! Edit: okay, just watched the video. I’m really excited to get this in the mail! It seems to be a palette that stands well on its own, but also pairs really nicely with other quads and palettes. I have almost every palette Mama Pat has to offer, and I think the comparison swatches show that there is a ton of room to play across the board for those who are long-time PMG collectors.

I'm definitely getting this. I own all motherships except both divine palettes and decadence bc I wasn't interested in those color stories but this, this is the best version of divine rose/midnight sun inspo I've seen so far.
How funny. I thought I was the only one to own every pallet except the divine roses because they were so popular. Like you, I think I will end up buying one of these three. Maybe this one.
I saw Pat's insta had some Sailor Moon imagery so I think there was some inspo there too. It totally gives me Sailor Moon vibes, which I'm down for. But I own colourpop's collab palette, plus I bought two palettes of sparkly and duochrome shadows from Adept cosmetics this year so I can't ever justify this for me. I was really eager to see your video though! I don't have any PML makeup but I still love your videos 😆

I cannot imagine why so many of the TH-camrs that I follow have pooh-poohed this pallet. I have loved it since the moment I’ve got a look and I am so happy to see everything you’re doing with it and that you love it as much as I do!

I’ve legitimately stopped watching anyone else’s PMG reviews and demos because yours are by far my favorite. You are still critical while loving the brand and the products, and you make me want to break out my shadows and play around with them some more (I haven’t since working from home, but I’m back in person in Sept).
This color story is so beautiful and works perfectly with your skin tone. I have fair skin and I used to be scared to buy her palettes because I thought they would be too deep for me, but since buying them I’ve learned that the shadows are actually buildable and I can sheer them out to be softer on me. Just the versatility and quality, Pat is. Legend. Can’t wait to get this palette :))
Holy moly! I bought IX because I have the other 8 and really enjoy them. Based on the campaign photos, I figured I'd love this, too. But seeing it in action on you? That's far beyond what I expected! This palette is perfect for me precisely bc it is NOT too out there. The special shades are so beautiful and paired with a matte in the crease, can be very wearable for someone like me. I can see why some may find it boring, but it suits my aesthetic perfectly. I think this one and bronze seduction will end up my most used motherships. I finally bought this palette. It's my first PMG palette. 2 things made me go for it. 1) I saw a nurse at an ER, and after she gave me report she asked if I had any questions. I asked her what eyeshadow she was wearing, and she said Pat McGrath from the new holiday palette. 2) I was holiday shopping today, and Huetopian Dreams was available for swatching, and I Fell. In. Love! I'm debating Divine Rose I and Sublime. I'd love to see those with Huetopian Dreams, or even those two together! Lovely work :)
This looks more like what I wanted from Divine Rose I. It's like Divine Rose I for deeper skin. Because Divine Rose II was bold, not so much daily use.

Color story wise, Mothership IX feels so much more like a full version of Fleur Fantasy than either of the Divine Rose Motherships. It’s a fairy palette, not a rose.

I have all the first 8 Mothership palettes so I know I am eventually going to get this but definitely not right now, I love your excitement and passion for PMG shadows afterall I fell in love with her shadows and formula because of you so it's nice to see what the palette can do. Thanks for the video. The intensifying stick makes everything pretty holographic, in my opinion, in line with her inspo photos. There was pink everywhere in those photos, we had to know. It's a beautiful palette, but still too close to Divine Rose 2 for me to buy. I don't own all of her motherships and would rather get a different one, since I own DR2. However, Pat keeps putting beauty into the world, and that is something not many can do.
I love how out of the ordinary Pat's shadows are, but it is true that everybody is always bothered by something with her shadows. Some people don't like her mattes (What the hell!) because they are too pigmented. No matter that they blend like a dream and you can create a soft look without effort if you wish. Everybody always makes a point about the price of her palettes, while they aren't much more expensive than many on the market, and certainly more affordable compared to a Tom Ford quad or whatever. Not counting the amazing sales Pat does. If it's too "out there" it's not an everyday palette, if it's too ordinary, it is too much of an everyday palette. It's like she can't win. Nobody cried when Natasha Denona released the Zendo palette, which is half Sunset palette and half Gold palette. And Denona doesn't even come close to Pat, in my opinion. Somehow, now Pat is a "NO NO" for most youtubers (and people). Sorry for the rant, I just love the artistry of Pat and feel she deserves more love.
It's the very fact that they're so pigmented that makes us melanated ladies love her work so much, because Mother (being a black woman herself) *understands* the need for pigment. Period. I don't want to hear anyone say a thing about how pigmented they are until they call out Natasha for making half the shades in most of her palettes colours that would be ashy on anyone darker than Alicia. Mother has been consistently delivering something so pigmented that darker people can use, but also so blendable that a vampire could get away with it. For the formula and the shades and the ingenuity, she's not charging us enough money quite frankly, and anyone who wants to speak down on her can kick rocks, because who else would give us what we needed in the way?
Our prayers have been answered 🙏...thank you, Alicia. You're the best and so deserving of pr. 👏👏
The palette is beautiful on its own. But it's hard to justify the cost when half of the shades can be duped by combining rose I & II. It goes to show that Pat is focusing on attracting new clients instead of surprising existing ones. The color combos of her earlier mothership pallets were creative yet coherent, always a pleasant surprise. This palette may be where I stop being a pmg collector.
This comment is how I feel. I just want half the palette. I'm literally on TH-cam trying to see the colors because I want to keep collecting but it does seem so unnecessary
I just discovered you this week and I love how you approach Pat's palettes! You make them seem so approachable, it is fun to watch! I just placed my first ever order with Pat McGrath and bought Huetopian Dream (you made me do it haha) and Bronze seduction! I have been eyeing Bronze seduction for YEARS but could never justify the cost. With the sale I decided to bite the bullet and purchase both! Treat yo self, right!?! Alicia you are the BEST reviewer of PMG. Nobody makes such informative comparison swatches. We need that smash video and more tutorials of this palette.
Does anyone think that Divine Rose is rounding out as a Trilogy? Hopefully… And one way to look at it may be: one DR may work better for a range of skin tones, aesthetic, etc. while DR2 is brighter and appeals to xyz. It would make more sense that way to me I guess. I also think the inspiration teasers and palettes may tend to be around the special shades. P.S. Was going to wait for bigger sale, but when the release email came out, I Went ahead and got it because I’m apparently a collector now. So excited to see your video so soon!!

I'm crying but laughing over this comment...her newest MTHSP-all pink/mauve palette- without any baked or crazy special shades. I'm so sad. I did snag this palette new for 55 bucks so at least I would take this one over the newest Sunlit Seduction. Talk about the biggest let down ever. I'm going to be really bummed if all of her palettes are warm pinky mauves from now on

I would love to see you swatch and play with some of the newer Terra Moons iridescent and grey based multichromes; not just as a comparison to the PML triochromes, but because they’re excellent single transformative shades that fill a different area of the “makeup space”. Other indie brands do similar shadows as well, but I haven’t tried them so I can’t personally speak to their quality. JD Glow galaxy shadows might also be fun for you to try too! I think it might be helpful to present some additional options for those looking to capture something reminiscent of the “PML magic shades” to those who can’t afford the full Pat Mothership experience. Love your content and excited to see Huetopian Dream in action. You’re eye looks are killer as always!

I was originally considering passing on this, but your swatches make me realize it’s actually everything I wanted divine rose 1 to be since it actually pulls a little to gray on my pale skin. And I love divine rose 2, but it’s not very pink on me (sextraterrestrial actually loses its duochrome on me and just looks dark and muddy). Actually really looking forward to this palette now despite being originally disappointed that the advertised concept was so deceptive. You are so beautiful and I just love your personality! ❤️
Same here, Kelly! I’m also very fair and haven’t been able to put my finger on why DRI and DRII were just a little off… your description is spot on! DRI pulls a little grey, and DRII can be a bit muddy! They are both *stunning* but where I’m very fair, there was something just a bit off! I wasn’t going to get this palette, but it’s now in my cart!
Interesting that you say that about the DRII duo chrome. I am medium deep (darker than Alicia) and my first impression was the same. Didn't seem to work on my skintone. Seemed muddy. I have a much better appreciation for the palette, especially the coppery rose tones, but I was underwhelmed at first until I did my first real look which didn't really emphasize the duo chrome anyways.

I have to say, when I saw the reveal for this palette I was kinda disappointed. I was hoping for a different color scheme. Maybe some new greens and blues, or some peachy/coraly/apricot shades of the blitz and astral formulas? Idk. Still a beautiful pallet though. Love the looks you created. ♥️

@@aliciaarcher True, Sublime does have that peachy VR shade, but I think Subversive’s is way more pink. I would have loved to see a Blitz Coral shade or an Astral orange. The promos made me think of something like that. Maybe she’ll give me that one day lol
The only Blitz Orange I can think of is Blood Moon from Midnight Sun. Not quite Orange, but I cannot wait to try that now with the wand 😍

I think this palette is perfect for those that don’t own the two divine rose motherships or are collectors. Pat has two camps: those that want wearable and those like me who also like to look like a unicorn threw up on our eyes occasionally. I have the two divine roses and am not a collector so I think I’m sitting this one out. Gorgeous palette though.

I'm looking forward to adding this to my collection but I foresee this being less received than Midnight Sun. Especially with a shade that pretty much requires another product in order to make it work. If it was a $60 something palette with more shades I could see it sliding but at $125 for 10, every shade needs to count.
I already know that I’m going to love this pallet because the triochrome is deeper. I ordered my palette yesterday morning, and now I’m wishing I would’ve ordered the stick 😩🤦🏿♀️🤷🏿♀️. Now that I've calmed down and watched the video lol I want to say great job showing what the palette can do. This is the first time I've held off buying a Pat palette and I'm not quite sure if I will end up with this but if I do it'll be at a sale price. The shades are gorgeous but most of them aren't what I need right now. On top of that I'm not really going anywhere and getting dolled up. I do wish that Shockwave, Venusian Orchid and Astral Amethyst Moon were in a quad because I actually would snatch that up. The most exciting part of this launch to me is that stick because I was just about to buy more NYX glitter glue but this is even better.

This launch made me realise that being in beauty may be sometimes overly emotional, up to toxic. Makeup is such an unnecessary thing, frankly speaking - it is not water or primary supplies one cannot live without. It is not even socially required these days. So I feel people tend to overrreact, see connotations, intentions, hints that are just not there! Like it is just for fun! The palette is great, and I don’t see why someone should be negative because “Mother did not meet expectations”. You have all the reasons to be excited, and beyond that)))
That being said, I won’t be buying it straight away, as I have to adult and shop my stash a bit!))

As someone who works a nine to five in a corporate office, most days I’m wearing very “safe” make up looks…but as a make up lover, I enjoy getting out of my comfort zone and playing so this will be a great palette for me!

Again no matter what the shades are with pat, less intensity will make them wearable!

Edit: okay, just watched the video. I’m really excited to get this in the mail! It seems to be a palette that stands well on its own, but also pairs really nicely with other quads and palettes. I have almost every palette Mama Pat has to offer, and I think the comparison swatches show that there is a ton of room to play across the board for those who are long-time PMG collectors.

I saw Pat's insta had some Sailor Moon imagery so I think there was some inspo there too. It totally gives me Sailor Moon vibes, which I'm down for. But I own colourpop's collab palette, plus I bought two palettes of sparkly and duochrome shadows from Adept cosmetics this year so I can't ever justify this for me. I’ve legitimately stopped watching anyone else’s PMG reviews and demos because yours are by far my favorite. You are still critical while loving the brand and the products, and you make me want to break out my shadows and play around with them some more (I haven’t since working from home, but I’m back in person in Sept).
This color story is so beautiful and works perfectly with your skin tone. I have fair skin and I used to be scared to buy her palettes because I thought they would be too deep for me, but since buying them I’ve learned that the shadows are actually buildable and I can sheer them out to be softer on me. Just the versatility and quality, Pat is. Legend. Can’t wait to get this palette :))

This palette is perfect for me precisely bc it is NOT too out there. The special shades are so beautiful and paired with a matte in the crease, can be very wearable for someone like me. I can see why some may find it boring, but it suits my aesthetic perfectly. I think this one and bronze seduction will end up my most used motherships. I finally bought this palette. It's my first PMG palette. 2 things made me go for it. 1) I saw a nurse at an ER, and after she gave me report she asked if I had any questions. I asked her what eyeshadow she was wearing, and she said Pat McGrath from the new holiday palette. 2) I was holiday shopping today, and Huetopian Dreams was available for swatching, and I Fell. In. Love!
