The positivity from the coach and team brought the coach and team brought tears to my eyes. The true meaning of TEAM, you gotta believe in yourselves no matter what others are thinking.
I was actually wondering about this exact thing after watching the 2021 championship race. I realized that I had never seen NAU women at these meets that the men had been totally dominating. Great to see how the program is building up to something and gaining belief.
These short-form documentaries are what FloTrack does well. They need to stop trying to do so many other types of content and just go all-in on the thing they do better than anyone else. Let me tell you now FloTrack, I would watch the CRAP out of any feature-length documentary you made about a college cross-country team over the course of a season. This kind of storytelling is powerful, exciting, and exactly what the sport needs. Do more of this.
This is amazing and refreshing to see the coaches care about their athletes as people first and then as runners. Huge props to the NAU ladies for building a great women's team. Last year they placed 6th in the NATIONS. It's nice to see how far they've come and they did it the right way. With sweat and grit! My respects to NAU cross country. I root for them every year.
This is amazing 💙💛 so so so proud of this team I know nothing about but this video is so inspirational. “It’s not just a 20 minute race, it’s all that stuff that nobody sees”
As a coach in high school whose teams school hasn’t made state meet since I ran as an athlete 18 years ago at this same school and our team has the chance to do, this hits home pretty hard. I can feel the same thing as coach Mike.
what makes a great coach? -- it's a question i ask myself all the time. in my running days i had a dinosaur... world war ii vet who had seen a lot of action. we would have run through fire for that man. now my son coaches x-country, wrestling, and crew at a famous prep. the boys seem terribly coddled... forget about fire, they won't run through a puddle. how to coach women, i have not a clue. but the staff at nau are doing something very right.
7:10……Coach Smith being General George Washington, consulting with the officer high command as he looks over the battlefield contemplating a flanking movement.
So if you get the most talented men in the country, and not the most talented ladies in the country and you have them do the same training and trails there is no difference? Wha?
“It’s not where you get to it’s who you become…” What a great coach.

"Race for something bigger than you", classic! Fantastic video

The women’s team returns 6 under 16:20 in the 5K in track. I wonder how much better they’ll be this fall

huh the trainings are not based on ability but potential benefits
