I wanted to share my favorite Japanese convenience store foods for all the travelers coming back to Japan. These are definitely Japan food items at a conbini that you should try. Going into a Japanese convenience store whether it be 7-11, Family Mart, or Lawson, it can be quite daunting with all the different choices so I thought I would share my top 10 Japanese snack foods so you can go straight down the aisle and pick on of these items up. If you are here or coming soon, I hope you enjoy your trip back to Japan. And if you are still unable to come, then I hope that you can enjoy the Japanese convenience store foods through my video.

Hey, Paolo. I have a recommendation for a future video. You should look into Air Traffic Controllers in Japan. They a little unique compared to most of the world's tower controllers.
More day in the life please!!!
We watched tons of Paolo videos before our trip to Japan in 2019. In fact, he was a major reason we chose this destination. We spent 2.5 days in Tokyo walking all over the place before heading to Kyoto and Osaka. Upon walking out of the Shibuya Station (for the first time in my life), low and behold Paolo walked right by me with his hoodie and shades on. Literally inches from me. Needless to say I was so shocked I couldn't speak. I wanted to say hi, but I knew he was going somewhere and I didn't want to be that guy. Anyway, THANKS Paolo for a GREAT trip to Japan. I wish I could have thanked you then, but I am glad I didn't disrupt your day. Your videos helped us cram so much into a 5 day trip that we left Japan exhausted and satisfied.

I am travelling to Japan (for the third time) for 4 weeks in February and March 2023, and I cant wait for it. I missed Japan a lot, and your videos made me miss it even more (in a positive way). Thanks a lot for the great vlogs Paolo.

One of the main reason convenience store food in Japan is so much better than other developed countries equivalent actually comes from the fact that they are not engineered to last as long as possible but simply to be tasty.
Whereas a club sandwich here in France has a shelf life of around 8 days, in Japan its 1 or 2 days max.
Everywhere else they go to great length and spend a lot on RnD to squeeze every last bit of shelf life they can, even if it means sacrificing taste sometimes.

In the old-old days in the US, anchovies egg salad was a thing for some reason. Lots of mayonnaise and anchovies in that.
I am returning to Japan in 2024 after 22 years since my last visit and Paolo from Tokyo is a helpful tool to update my previous visiting experience and learn lots of new things. Furthermore, both Maiko and Paolo are great fun to listen and watch.

I think in America (at least if you go to the central or Southern regions) your convenience store staples would be, a slurpee, beef jerky, a package of mini powdered Donuts, a Slim Jim, and some gum.

I just came back from Singapore with a layover at NRT. I loaded up on tons of duty free sweets like manju and shiroi koibito.

If you liked anchovies mayonnaise then you should definitely try "vitello tonnato" a cold dish with Italian origin that's also commonly eaten during our Holidays in South America (since it's summer down here). I guess you could also start putting caesar dressing on potatoes 😂

What I noticed in my 9 trips to Japan so far is their Service Station and Convenience store foods are of better quality than most restaurants here in Australia and I am not exaggerating
It is also comparable or superior to most Fast Food restaurants here in Canada - the Japanese Convenience Store Food quality is really impressive and I miss it!

When you cracked the wasabi pistachios they looked a little bit like NicNacs we have in Germany. But it's a peanut instead of a pistachio and it's coated with a thick and crunchy layer of bell pepper flavor. They're very umami 😋

Thank you for your video. I found the soup today and tried it. I have to say, the noodles are very different from most cup ramens I've tried here. This week a bunch of new cup ramens showed up at the konbinis, I tried a few, and eh, ma ma. This one is the best so far. The noodles have more texture - springy. The broth is creamier. 'Best cup ramen' I've tried - uh, maybe. The vegetables and meat are not really there, but I guess if you just want the noodles and broth, it's pretty nice on a cold day. I think I can taste some black pepper flavor too. Thanks for the recommendation.
Not gonna lie, one of my top reasons I want to visit Japan is to go to the convenience stores. I'm really hoping to go for maybe my 35th birthday (I'll be 31 at the end of the year.) Need to do more research but it is my dream destination.

Awesome video once again🙌 It would be awesome seeing you reviewing gluten-free Konbini snacks. A lot of people(including myself) have Celiac disease or wheat allergies and would like to try Konbini foods that are gluten-free. There are so many brands and snacks so it would be nice to try ones you come across or have tasted before.

We have the chocolate infused crackers in Germany as long as I can think. They´re even made for kids in a Koala shaped style. On the inside is a milk cream filling enriched with chocolate or strawberry flavor, just less sweet than usual products for adults. I used to love them when I was a kid. (And now I want some xD).
