Can I ask? Doesn’t all of the apocalypse talk go against what God Said back in genesis where he said he will never do it again (post flood) “And the Lord was pleased with the aroma of the sacrifice and said to himself, “I will never again curse the ground because of the human race, even though everything they think or imagine is bent toward evil from childhood. I will never again destroy all living things.” Genesis 8:21
It doesn't matter what that book says, it's all fiction. It is based upon stories that were told long before the bible was even thought of. Sumarian texts. The Epic of Gelgamesh was told/ written long before the tale of Noah. Just historical facts. Google it.
@@lazarushernandez5827 hi there, I would actually like to suggest that it may be the contrary, the end of the verse says it “I will never again destroy all living things” and in *context* it may refer to the whole Noah situation where only a “couple of people” were on the ark and survived with a couple of animals … this would all contradict the Bible and call God a liar
@@Ifonly._. Well if you read the prophecies in Revelation, it says that people will survive this. It is not going to be 8 people and an ark full of animals.

That’s his return?? 31 And he will send forth his angels with a great trumpet sound, and they will gather his chosen ones together from the four winds, from one extremity of the heavens to their other extremity.
@@gbentreprise personally I believe this also was a first century event. Jesus told the Pharisees that they would see him coming on the clouds: Matthew 26:64 Jesus said to him, “You have said it yourself. But I tell you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.” I think this means their perceiving that he really was the one spoken of by Daniel when they see Jerusalem destroyed. That being the case, the gathering of the chosen ones would refer to the preaching work. John 11:51 (Now he did not say this on his own, but because he was high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus was going to die for the Jewish nation, John 11:52 and not for the Jewish nation only, but to gather together into one the children of God who are scattered.) But it’s ok to come to your own conclusion.
Here’s something I wrote up on this topic: Matthew 24:34 Truly I say to you that this generation (Greek genea) will by no means pass away until all these things happen. I present here two lines of thought that I’ve been mulling over and may help us understand this difficult passage. One is linguistically based and the other is drawn from the Talmud's reporting of the sayings attributed to Rabbi Johanan ben Zakkai about how the people would be able to recognize the Messiah, that is the signs they should look for so as to know the Messiah was near. If such an interpretation taught by Rabbi Johanan was in the consciousness of the disciples at that time it would explain Jesus' detailed response that seems to go beyond the question asked of him. Starting with the linguistic point, Iver Larsen suggests that the phrase "this generation" at Matthew 24:34 should be understood to mean "people of this kind". He goes on to show that the use of the Greek demonstrative pronoun houtos most often translated as "this" should be viewed as anaphoric, meaning that it points back to something earlier in the context. In this case it seems to be the performative acts of the false prophets and those whose love for God had cooled. Now, as to the Talmud, evidently during the time of Jesus it was held by some that if the people were unrighteous when the Messiah came then he would come in a lowly manner riding on an ass. But if the people were righteous then Messiah would come on the clouds.-See Talmud 98a attributed to Rabbi Johanan. Also, it seems that Rabbi Johanan told them to expect the Messiah when they saw an ever dwindling generation. See footnote 1. If these things were in the minds of the disciples then their two fold question When will these things be and what will be the sign of your presence? makes sense. They were witnesses that Jesus was lowly and that the people were not worthy of the kingdom of God and that Jesus was teaching Israel how to be righteous. There is no doubt at all that they were expecting Jesus to restore the kingdom to Israel at that time by overthrowing Roman domination of their nation. Likely then the disciples were expecting the next phase which would be the coming of the Messiah on the clouds of heaven. Jesus' response at Matthew 24:23-36 addresses all these expectations! So, bringing these two points together, it may well be that "this genea" should be understood as "people of this kind (the wicked) will by no means pass away until all these things happen. Since houtos (this) points back to the performative acts of the false prophets and those whose love has cooled it is obvious that it applies first to a class of people in the future in relation to Jesus' explanation to his disciples on the Mount of Olives. The application would span the time period from his resurrection until he finally comes. This also fits a here now but yet to come interpretation of the last days. Remember that R. Johanan taught them to expect that the wicked would be supplanted by the righteous and then the Messiah would come on the clouds of heaven. Jesus was evidently then clarifying that this expectation was incorrect. But rather the passing away of the wicked (false prophets and those whose love had cooled) would not happen before he came with power and great glory. (1) Talmud 98a R. Johanan said: When you see a generation ever dwindling, hope for him [the Messiah], as it is written, And the afflicted people thou wilt save.27 R. Johanan said: When thou seest a generation overwhelmed by many troubles as by a river, await him, as it is written, when the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him;28 which is followed by, And the Redeemer shall come to Zion.29 R. Johanan also said: The son of David will come only in a generation that is either altogether righteous or altogether wicked. 'in a generation that is altogether righteous,' - as it is written, Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever.30 'Or altogether wicked,' - as it is written, And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor;31 and it is [elsewhere] written, For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it.32 R. Alexandri said: R. Joshua b. Levi pointed out a contradiction. it is written, in its time [will the Messiah come], whilst it is also written, I [the Lord] will hasten it!33 - if they are worthy, I will hasten it: if not, [he will come] at the due time. R. Alexandri said: R. Joshua opposed two verses: it is written, And behold, one like the son of man came with the clouds of heaven34 whilst [elsewhere] it is written, [behold, thy king cometh unto thee … ] lowly, and riding upon an ass!35 - if they are meritorious, [he will come] with the clouds of heaven;36 if not, lowly and riding upon an ass. King Shapur [I] said to Samuel, 'Ye maintain that the Messiah will come upon an ass: I will rather send him a white horse of mine.'37 He replied, 'Have you a hundred-hued steed?'38 (2) Matt 23:36: (Luke 11:50) “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! (v. 23,25,27,29)...Truly, I say to you, all this will come upon this genea.” Having seen the pattern from the examples above where genea in itself refers to a class or type of people and the qualifying word(s) and the context describe the characteristic feature of the people, it is natural to expect the qualifying word “this” to point to the characteristics of the group of people referred to. The first instance of “this” refers back to the punishment mentioned in verses 33 and 35 (judgment of hell and the blood of all the righteous). It seems most likely that the phrase “this genea” refers back to the group of people he has just been speaking about. Since this is probably a new thought to many people, I shall spell out some of the arguments in more detail. There are basically two possible interpretations of the meaning of the demonstrative in the phrase “this.” (1) Either it refers to the “people living now” in contrast to people living at another time in history or (2) it refers to something mentioned in the preceding linguistic context. Interpretation (1) is very difficult to reconcile with the basic meaning of the phrase την γενεαν ταυτην (TEN GENEAN TAUTEN) and it also does not fit well with the context. First, there is nothing in the context which supports an idea of temporal contrast. Second, nowhere else can the word “this” possibly be understood as meaning “living now.” Third, and most important, in ALL instances of the phrase “this genea,” the demonstrative follows the noun. As mentioned in section 1 above, this means that the focus is on genea, not on “this.” If the expression had included a contrast between the generation of that time and any other generation, the word houtos should have preceded genea instead of following it. The second interpretation makes much better sense and is in accordance with the meaning attested to the words “this” and genea elsewhere, that is, “this” is a reference to something in the preceding linguistic context, and genea is a certain type of people. Now let us look at the context of Matt 23:36. The relevant context is 23:1-39. The whole chapter is one long description and denunciation of the practices of certain hypocritical “scribes and Pharisees” and their like. In verse 35 the reference is broadened to similar people in the past who killed the righteous people (with an obvious sting to the self-righteous Pharisees who would soon kill the righteous Jesus). In verse 37 it is broadened to the people of Jerusalem as representing those people who kill the prophets. Upon SUCH PEOPLE (‘this genea’) will come a great punishment (‘all these things’). A possible, more faithful translation of ten genean tauten in v. 36 might be “you and people like you.”
Jesus words about this generation are connected with his fig tree illustration that concludes with the statement: “when you see all these things, know that he is near at the door”. (Matt. 24:33) When he speaks about this generation, he says that it will not pass away until all these things take place. (Matt. 24:34) It’s difficult to see how there could not be a temporal significance to his words. So, the question is, what things is he talking about? The key to identifying what things he is talking about lies in who he said would see them. “when you (his disciples) see all these things”. (Matt. 24:33) Does not the fact that his disciples would be the ones that would see them fix the time period? Wouldn't it make them part of the generation that would not pass away until all these things take place?
You raise a good point about "temporal significance" to his words. His immediate audience is the disciples but there is an interesting parenthetical statement in Matt 24:15 that seems to broaden his audience when he said "let the reader use discernment". A couple of questions arise: 1.) Is this Jesus speaking or is it the writer of the gospel? 2.) What is being read? Is it the book of Daniel or the gospel? This same parenthetical statement is recorded in Mark 13:14. So this may lend support to the idea that it was Jesus who said it. However, it could have been Matthew copying Mark or vice versa depending on which book you view as having primacy. If it's Jesus' own words then the audience could be broadened beyond his immediate disciples and would be about the book of Daniel and extend to all readers until the prophecy of Daniel is fulfilled. Either way it seems to imply that the fulfillment of the disgusting thing standing in a holy place will not be straightforward. In fact it may imply more than one fulfillment. There is no doubt that the events of 66CE-70CE fulfilled much of Jesus' prophecy. However, a tribulation the likes of which has never occurred nor will occur again cannot be said to have been fulfilled. Preterism attempts to answer this difficulty by forcing all the prophesied events into the first century. However it has to ignore many other prophesied events and is really a non-starter.
The disgusting thing that causes desolation is mentioned or alluded to in a coupe of places in Daniel one of which is in Dan 9:26-27: And after the 62 weeks, Mes·siʹah will be cut off, with nothing for himself. “And the people of a leader who is coming will destroy the city and the holy place. And its end will be by the flood. And until the end there will be war; what is decided upon is desolations. 27 “And he will keep the covenant in force for the many for one week; and at the half of the week, he will cause sacrifice and gift offering to cease. “And on the wing of disgusting things there will be the one causing desolation; and until an extermination, what was decided on will be poured out also on the one lying desolate." This passage certainly applies nicely to the first century even though dispensationalists would push off the 70th week to a period yet future. We also have Dan 11:30,31: He will go back and hurl denunciations against the holy covenant and act effectively; and he will go back and will give attention to those leaving the holy covenant. 31 And arms will stand up, proceeding from him; and they will profane the sanctuary, the fortress, and remove the constant feature. “And they will put in place the disgusting thing that causes desolation. This is connected to the king of the north's activity. It is also where I believe the antichrist and man of lawlessness derive. And finally we have Dan 11:44-12:3 where the king of the north besieges Jerusalem (the holy mountain of decoration) and great tribulation the likes of which has never occurred before nor will occur again takes place. It's at this point that Michael stands up for Daniel's people and those found written in the book will escape. I believe that it's this particular passage (as well as Dan 7:13 from the Old Greek) that Jesus is drawing from in his prophecy at Matt 24. And if he is reading the Old Greek of the Septuagint then we even see a proto-rapture event described. Here's something I wrote on this: 1 Thess 4:16 strongly hints that Jesus returned to his role as commander of God’s hosts. # A comparison of the prophesied events at Daniel 11:44-12:3 which are connected with Michael and Jesus’ application of those same events to himself at Matt 24:21-31 strongly hint that Jesus is Michael. Matt 24:15-31 describes these events: 1.) A desolating military force will take a menacing position in the "holy place”. 2.) A time of great tribulation. 3.) A saving of God’s chosen ones. (therefore by implication an attack upon these very ones) 4.) A coming of the Son of man with great power and glory. At Daniel 11:44-12:1 the prophet describes these four events: 1.) The king of the north will bring forth his military force to annihilate “many” planting his military force between the grand sea and the holy mountain of decoration. 2.) A time of distress the likes of which has never occurred before. 3.) All who are written down in the God’s book will escape. 4.) Michael the great prince of Israel will stand up in a new and glorious sense. Daniel 12:3 then says that those having insight will shine brightly in the heavens like stars. A clear reference to becoming divine beings and residing in the heavens. 3 “And those having insight will shine as brightly as the expanse of heaven, and those bringing the many to righteousness like the stars, forever and ever. The Israel of Daniel 12:1 are the holy ones who have been bringing many to righteousness. These are those taught the will of God by Jesus and who are going throughout all the earth to all the nations making disciples and so bringing many to righteousness. Dan 12:1-3 Old Greek of the LXX And at that hour Michael, the great angel who stands over the sons of your people, will pass by. That is a day of affliction, which will be such as has not occurred since they were born until that day. And on that day the whole people will be raised up, whoever is found inscribed in the book. 2 And many of those who sleep in the flat of the earth will arise, some to everlasting life but others to shame and others to dispersion [and contempt] everlasting. 3 And those who are intelligent will light up like the luminaries of heaven, and those who strengthen my words will be as the stars of heaven forever and ever. 4 And you, Daniel, hide the ordinances, and seal the book until the btime of consummationb, until the many rage violently and the earth is filled with injustice.” Dan 12:1-3 LXX Note that the all the people (of Daniel, the holy ones) will be ὑψωθήσεται in that day, the day of the great tribulation. This word ὑψωθήσεται can be read as to raise aloft, elevate, exalt. This is language used to signal a glorification to heaven of these ones. Further reinforcing this reading is that this is in the context of all those who have been written down in the book of life. And the subsequent mention of those sleeping in the dust and the promise that the intelligent will be glorified to heaven and shine like stars forever. ὑψωθήσῃ is used in connection with being exalted to heaven Matt 11:23 καὶ σύ, Καφαρναούμ, μὴ ἕως οὐρανοῦ ὑψωθήσῃ; ἕως ᾅδου καταβήσῃ· ὅτι εἰ ἐν Σοδόμοις ἐγενήθησαν αἱ δυνάμεις αἱ γενόμεναι ἐν σοί, ἔμεινεν ἂν μέχρι τῆς σήμερον. (Matthew 11:23 GNT28-T)
Scott, Interesting point about Matthew 24:15. I think it is well within reason to understand the comment as being about the book of Daniel. Since their escape depended on being able to identify this disgusting thing, the reader would be cautioned to keep on the watch for how these words would come to pass. But does it really make a difference whether the parenthetical statement was made by Jesus or Matthew? It would broaden the audience to more than just the disciples that were there on hand asking the questions. But since the reason was to give them a sign of the window of opportunity to flee Jerusalem, the statement would certainly not apply to anyone living after 70 CE. As far as the tribulation that has not occurred before, nor will occur again, I believe that was true regarding Jerusalem and the temple since it has never recovered. You obviously have spent a great deal of time researching this subject and have written much about it. Too much for me to handle here in the comments. You are welcome to email me if you care to discuss further. You can also read and comment on articles that I have written on my website.
Evidently seems likely etc etc. Watchtower "talk" why are they so obsessed with figuring out the timing when no one knows the day or hour. I wonder why?
For it is a man's number 2030 Agenda 21 The UK has a new King. Will the US have a Maga King. Who will control the UN the 8th King. The only premise to rubbish what David Splane says is if the the book of Revelation was actually written in 68 CE. Which would the whole Bible a farce. The apostle John was incarcerated at Patmos when he got the revelation (Re 1:9). When was that? The reference to the 7 congregations. Were these present before 70CE?
The only reason I can see for them limiting this generation to only the anointed is to not include babies. That would make the generation too long and the end far away. But that could change in some future updated version of the proclaimers book.
It's a shame that he's a liar, because they, the watchtowers society leaders, always believed that they were the generation, since the beginning of the watchtowers organization,
It amazes me that I used Mat.24; 32 and 33 in service back in 1974 to explain to "worldly people" that Armageddon was coming in 1975. I remember well when time ran out on the "generation that saw all these things will never die" teaching. Do you people Just make it up as you go?
Beth-Sarim! Yes they built a Mansion for the resurrection. But the fifth seal of Revelation says they are to rest a little longer. Lol! The “Jubilee Year” teaching of 1925 appeared later, between 1917-1918. The Watchtower Society thus recalls its interpretation: In a booklet published in that same year, 1920, it was pointed out that if 70 full Jubilees were calculated from what was understood to be the date when Israel entered the Promised Land (...), this could point to the year 1925. (Jehovah’s Witnesses-Proclaimers of God’s Kingdom 1993 p. 632).
Luke 12:35 Be dressed and ready and have your lamps burning, 36 and you should be like men waiting for their master to return from the marriage, so when he comes and knocks, they may at once open to him. 37 Happy are those slaves whom the master on coming finds watching! Truly I say to you, he will dress himself for service and have them recline at the table and will come alongside and minister to them. 38 And if he comes in the second watch, even if in the third, and finds them ready, happy are they! 39 But know this, if the householder had known at what hour the thief would come, he would not have let his house be broken into. Did the Faithful Slave pass the second and third watch. 1925 and 1975 are they false dates or prophetic prophecy. The 5th And 6th Seal of Revelation. Revelation 6:5 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls* of those slaughtered because of the word of God and because of the witness they had given. 10 They shouted with a loud voice, saying: “Until when, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, are you refraining from judging and avenging our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” 11 And a white robe was given to each of them, and they were told to rest a little while longer, until the number was filled of their fellow slaves and their brothers who were about to be killed as they had been. 12 And I saw when he opened the sixth seal, and a great earthquake occurred; and the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair,* and the entire moon became as blood, 13 and the stars of heaven fell to the earth as when a fig tree shaken by a high wind drops its unripe figs. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll that is being rolled up, and every mountain and every island was removed from its place. 15 Then the kings of the earth, the high officials, the military commanders, the rich, the strong, every slave, and every free person hid in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains. 16 And they keep saying to the mountains and to the rocks: “Fall over us and hide us from the face of the One seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb, 17 because the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?” 1925 was the end of the Jubilee's and they thought Armageddon was coming also in 1975 the end of the 6000 years. They didn't know it was the 5th and 6th seal being opened. They built a mansion. But the 5th seal shows they was to rest a little longer. And they did believe the wrath of Jehovah was coming. Read verse 17 of the sixth seal. Luke 12:32 Have no fear, little flock, for your Father has approved of giving you the Kingdom.

The Four Gospels sing Praise to Jah! Who was, Who is , Who is Coming! The four gospels represents the four living creatures Matthew the man, Mark the lion, Luke the ox, and John the eagle. John has Jesus dying on a different day. It's the Day of Preparation not the Day of Preparation for Passover. It was the day they prepare the lambs for sacrifice. While at the same time Jesus is prepared for sacrifice. Jesus is the Lamb of YHVH Yehovah Jehovah Revelation 4:7 The first living creature was like a lion, and the second living creature was like a young bull, and the third living creature had a face like a man’s, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle. 8 As for the four living creatures, each one of them had six wings; they were full of eyes all around and underneath. And continuously, day and night, they say: “Holy, holy, holy is Jehovah God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is coming.”
There will NEVER BE A SECOND FULFILLMENT of what befell the first century Christians because the Scriptures tells us that what happened will not happen again read Matthew 24:21. Here's the Verse! Those who survive The Great Tribulation! Daniel 12:1 “During that time Miʹcha·el will stand up, the great prince who is standing in behalf of your people. And there will occur a time of distress such as has not occurred since there came to be a nation until that time. And during that time your people will escape, everyone who is found written down in the book. 2 And many of those asleep in the dust of the earth will wake up, some to everlasting life and others to reproach and to everlasting contempt. 3 “And those having insight will shine as brightly as the expanse of heaven, and those bringing the many to righteousness like the stars, forever and ever.

I will never again destroy all living things.”
Genesis 8:21
By way of a flood.
Interesting point. It’s certainly worth exploring
Can we get an apology from GB?? We don't know what we are talking about!!! Can we please get a professional to chime in on this fiasco??? It didn't make sense when Splane splained it, and it doesn't make sense now???
It seems as though they are firm and determined not to apologize in this time of the end!
There is no rational explanation for overlapping bullshit. That's my professional opinion on the matter.
Great tribulation.? What about Matt 24:19. It indicates when Jesus returns. Could that one fit for the future in relation to revelations??
@@gbentreprise I don’t see how. The next verse says: 20 Keep praying that YOUR flight may not occur in wintertime, nor on the sabbath day;” . Flight to where?
@@preachfromthehousetops2167 good point but 30 says they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Here’s something I wrote up on this topic:
Matthew 24:34 Truly I say to you that this generation (Greek genea) will by no means pass away until all these things happen.
(1) Talmud 98a
R. Johanan said: When you see a generation ever dwindling, hope for him [the Messiah], as it is written, And the afflicted people thou wilt save.27 R. Johanan said: When thou seest a generation overwhelmed by many troubles as by a river, await him, as it is written, when the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him;28 which is followed by, And the Redeemer shall come to Zion.29
R. Johanan also said: The son of David will come only in a generation that is either altogether righteous or altogether wicked. 'in a generation that is altogether righteous,' - as it is written, Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever.30 'Or altogether wicked,' - as it is written, And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor;31 and it is [elsewhere] written, For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it.32
R. King Shapur [I] said to Samuel, 'Ye maintain that the Messiah will come upon an ass: I will rather send him a white horse of mine.'37 He replied, 'Have you a hundred-hued steed?'38
(2) Matt 23:36: (Luke 11:50) “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! (v.
23,25,27,29)...Truly, I say to you, all this will come upon this genea.” Having seen the pattern from the examples above where genea in itself refers to a class or type of people and the qualifying word(s) and the context describe the characteristic feature of the people, it is natural to expect the qualifying word “this” to point to the characteristics of the group
of people referred to. The first instance of “this” refers back to the punishment mentioned in verses 33 and 35 (judgment of hell and the blood of all the righteous). It seems most
likely that the phrase “this genea” refers back to the group of people he has just been speaking about. Since this is probably a new thought to many people, I shall spell out some of the arguments in more detail.
There are basically two possible interpretations of the meaning of the demonstrative in the
phrase “this.” (1) Either it refers to the “people living now” in contrast to people living at another time in history or (2) it refers to something mentioned in the preceding
linguistic context. Interpretation (1) is very difficult to reconcile with the basic meaning of the phrase την γενεαν ταυτην (TEN GENEAN TAUTEN) and it also does not fit well with the context. First, there is
nothing in the context which supports an idea of temporal contrast. Second, nowhere else
can the word “this” possibly be
understood as meaning “living now.” Third, and most
important, in ALL instances of the phrase “this genea,” the demonstrative follows the noun. As mentioned in section 1 above, this means that the focus is on genea, not on “this.” If the expression had included a contrast between the generation of that time and any other generation, the word houtos should have preceded genea instead of following it.
The second interpretation makes much better sense and is in accordance with the meaning
attested to the words “this” and genea elsewhere, that is, “this” is a reference to something in the preceding linguistic context, and genea is a certain type of people.
A possible, more
faithful translation of ten genean tauten in v. 36 might be “you and people like you.”
Thank you for sharing this research. I haven't had time yet to digest it fully. But will get back to you soon.
A couple of questions arise:
1.) Is this Jesus speaking or is it the writer of the gospel?
The disgusting thing that causes desolation is mentioned or alluded to in a coupe of places in Daniel one of which is in Dan 9:26-27:
And after the 62 weeks, Mes·siʹah will be cut off, with nothing for himself. “And on the wing of disgusting things there will be the one causing desolation; and until an extermination, what was decided on will be poured out also on the one lying desolate."
This passage certainly applies nicely to the first century even though dispensationalists would push off the 70th week to a period yet future.
We also have Dan 11:30,31:
He will go back and hurl denunciations against the holy covenant and act effectively; and he will go back and will give attention to those leaving the holy covenant.
Here's something I wrote on this:
1 Thess 4:16 strongly hints that Jesus returned to his role as commander of God’s hosts. #
A comparison of the prophesied events at Daniel 11:44-12:3 which are connected with Michael and Jesus’ application of those same events to himself at Matt 24:21-31 strongly hint that Jesus is Michael.
Matt 24:15-31 describes these events:
1.) A desolating military force will take a menacing position in the "holy place”.
2.) A time of great tribulation.
3.) A saving of God’s chosen ones. (therefore by implication an attack upon these very ones)
4.) A coming of the Son of man with great power and glory.
At Daniel 11:44-12:1 the prophet describes these four events:
1.) The king of the north will bring forth his military force to annihilate “many” planting his military force between the grand sea and the holy mountain of decoration.
Dan 12:1-3 Old Greek of the LXX
And at that hour Michael, the great angel who stands over the sons of your people, will pass by. 4 And you, Daniel, hide the ordinances, and seal the book until the btime of consummationb, until the many rage violently and the earth is filled with injustice.” Dan 12:1-3 LXX
Note that the all the people (of Daniel, the holy ones) will be ὑψωθήσεται in that day, the day of the great tribulation. This word ὑψωθήσεται can be read as to raise aloft, elevate, exalt. This is language used to signal a glorification to heaven of these ones. Further reinforcing this reading is that this is in the context of all those who have been written down in the book of life. And the subsequent mention of those sleeping in the dust and the promise that the intelligent will be glorified to heaven and shine like stars forever.
ὑψωθήσῃ is used in connection with being exalted to heaven
Matt 11:23
(Matthew 11:23 GNT28-T)
Scott,
Interesting point about Matthew 24:15.

Is Flodin serious ? Only the anointed will see the tribulation. How about the book This generation will not pass ?

The Watchtower Society thus recalls its interpretation:
In a booklet published in that same year, 1920, it was pointed out that if 70 full Jubilees were calculated from what was understood to be the date when Israel entered the Promised Land (...), this could point to the year 1925.

1925 and 1975 are they false dates or prophetic prophecy. The 5th And 6th Seal of Revelation.
Revelation 6:5
When he opened the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls* of those slaughtered because of the word of God and because of the witness they had given.
16 And they keep saying to the mountains and to the rocks: “Fall over us and hide us from the face of the One seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb, 17 because the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”
1925 was the end of the Jubilee's and they thought Armageddon was coming also in 1975 the end of the 6000 years. They didn't know it was the 5th and 6th seal being opened. They built a mansion. But the 5th seal shows they was to rest a little longer. And they did believe the wrath of Jehovah was coming. Read verse 17 of the sixth seal.

Where in the Generation Scripture does it say THESE GENERATIONS OR THOSE GENERATIONS NOWHERE. But what it says is that what will occur is that the Tribulation only happen ONCE AND WILL NOT OCCUR AGAIN. Read Matthew 24:21.
may I ask you a personal question? Are you a preterist? i mean that in no derogatory way. i am a preterist- except for a few verses in Revelation, and if that’s possible. It seems one is either a preterist or isn’t.
Having seen the problems associated with being in a specific group or religion I tend to resist labels. But as far as my understanding of the Olivet discourse and the book of Revelation I think I could be described as a partial preterist. I believe many of the things foretold happened in the first century but not all.
