So to your question, no i wouldn't come back and save a loved one IF i had a bunch of good memories that helped me got passed that tragic trauma. If my life was shit from beggining to end due to that death, then yeah, i would've saved that person. But if i had a great life regardless of that tragic loss, i wouldn't go back. i love that they pulled out the notepads and drew up the time lines lol i did that during the summer to figure things out. I figured out that Flashpoint shouldn't even be possible in this reality, because Barry's mom wasn't killed by a thief but instead RF from the future who in doing so created an Alternate Timeline that is the shows timeline. Also helped me predict that there would be consequences to the "original" timeline cus it was foreshadowed last season when Barry traveled back to get the speed equation from Thawne, when he got back Pied Piper was a good guy.
To clarify, under the mask was Edward Claris. He is traditionally "The Rival" in the comics as the antagonist to Jay Garrick. The end credits scene was the Edward Claris of the normal timeline being spoken to by the villain Alchemy. Alchemy is projected to be the one to cause him to gain his speed and become the Rival in this timeline.
Some of the speculation of you guys seems a bit off. Like the speculation about Barry only having some of his speed. Why would he only have some of his speed? Its not like he was loosing his speed only forgetting that he was the flash and knowing that he has this ability. So Eobard killing Nora again essentially reversed Flashpoint up until the point he was sitting on the porch with Iris. But because of the fallout of messing with the timeline certain things will be different. But when it comes to his speed i'm pretty sure his as fast as he was at the end of S2. Also the guy who was the Rival isn't eddie in any way and the person talking to him at the end was Dr. Alchemy one of the two major villains this season. His voice is done by Tobin Bell ( the actor who plays Jigsaw ) But i don't know who will actually be playing Dr. Alchemy himself.
He might only have as much as he did when he first got his powers cause in this timeline he never fought zoom or used his powers to fight crime , in the flashpoint timeline he should be slower , yes he would remember all of his skills but he would be slower .
i feel like what wally's backstory is should have been "he drives illegal cars, and he's made this nitro formula to make his car go faster, when he goes to test it out a wild random thunderstorm occurs and as he's about to start the car, the lightning hits his cars kickstarting the engine causing wally to crash due the nitro formula being affected by the "lightning" strike and end up in a near fatal death coma due to how bad the car crash was, but the moment the lightning and his formula mixed it gave him his speed, and once the speed boost started kicking in his speed boost rapid healing starts to kick in and he awakes from his coma and he soon realizes he's the "kid" flash
honestly in any other channel i would be mad for the lack of cuting at the beginning..but these two could make me watch a 2hour video of them talking about their plans for the mic/sound to each other 😂😂

Haven't watched your review/discussion yet, but my quick takes were: - Wow is Ramone ever short! That girl towered over him. - Why did alternate timeline Joe become a lazy bum? Some backstory there could have been interesting I feel. Was it the responsibility of taking care of Barry that kept him focused? They could have fleshed out his character some more if the episode went into that further, which I would have liked. - The "Iris estranged" thing from out of nowhere kinda feels like they needed something for her character to do this season that wasn't a rehash of "will they/won't they?" with Barry. A little worried that season 3 might get too focused on relationship drama now. - Some interesting "who's the villain? who's the hero" back and forth with reverse flash.

There is a plot hole in this new episode. For one, Reverse flash couldn't travel through time after killing Barry's mom which is why he was stuck their. For some reason he was able to carry Barry through time even though he was weekend. Not only that but it looks like Reverse Flash, after he kill Nora again, leaves. Where? Back to his time since he was able to bring Barry out of Flashpoint. Wouldn't that destroy Season 1 from existing and the Flash being created. At that point did Reverse Flash even know he would be stuck there. Lastly, Reverse Flash only raised Barry in season 1 to steal his power, why couldn't he do it their and then when Barry was entering Noras home again.
Yeah wow, they really fucked that one up. Then again this show has had plot holes for the past two seasons so that's nothing new. Doesn't change the fact that it's one of the most entertaining shows on TV though. The writers need to get their shit together before the plot holes actually start making an impact on the show.

Season one is safe because he stilled killed Barry's mom and just returned Barry back to where he was in time. It shows once he killed Barry's mom all the flashbacks returned, so same things happened with minor tweaks.

The Reverse Flash that brought Barry back never did season 1, he just killed her & ran to leave Barry where he left off in season 2 & that's why things are changed now with iris and Joe & who knows what else because remember in season 1, reverse flash was erased from the timeline & this reverse flash never went thru all that happen in season 1 because reverse flash killing Barry's mom obliviously happen before season 1 & 2.

I saw a theory online that the reason that the timeline at the end of the episode was different to one from season 2 is the fact that Reverse Flash didn't get stuck in the past, seeing as he took Barry back from the past. Thought it was interesting.
The reason why things are different is because Reverse-Flash made some adjustments to the timeline himself to mess with Barry. I don't know if this also applies to the TV show, but in the comics Reverse-Flash was save from the effects from a timeline-change as long as he is in the speedforce during the change, and he was definetly in the speedforce when he changed all those things, so my guess is he is save now.
personally i liked this episode very cleverly done and it mirrors the comic rather well ,for a 40 minute tv show with few characters, with the joe killing the rival mimicking Thomas wayne killing reverse flash (as well as the season 1 nod) i also liked how it seems as though wally lost his speed like barry did in the comic the possible lasting changes (even though i think dante might be on to something with the being in flashpoint still since the next episode is called paradox)
The first half of S2 was set up for Legends of Tomorrow and it hurt he show and the pacing of the show a lot. Since it won't be an issue this year let's hope it will be better.

I think it's obvious what Barry has to do now. Now that he's not losing his memories or his powers, he just has to go back again, and stop himself from tackling Reverse-Flash in the first place. THEN -- ONLY THEN -- can he really undo all the Flashpoint Paradoxes that he created. And as a bonus... Reverse-Flash will cease to exist... AGAIN! What do you think of that?!

I think that the first few episodes are going to be somewhat of an extension of Flashpoint.. he will have to find out how to fix the time line and eventually become the Flash from the end of Season 1 that stops himself from saving his mom.
I thought this was a disappointment the flash didn't really have an alternate universe type feel it wasn't a dramatic shift from the other ones when he had to fix the timeline. I thought we could get more of a struggle with him and his family and friends. But still a good episode wally was great as the flash his charisma was so good as him. the rival suit should've been glowing at the lines he looked kinda of silly
That is not Eddie. Different actor. DR. Alchemy is the main villain for this year. He was recruiting the rival at the end for his team. Dr alchemy is going to be like zoom last year. Played by an actor in the suit but a different actor is doing the voice. We will me him next week. He was looking for a speedster to team up with. So he went to Edward Clariss to help him kill flash.
Also one of my biggest problems with this episode was the ending. Not the cliff hanger but the whole "Iris and joe dont talk", they tried to play it off as some huge thing, Barry should be lucky thats all that has changed (just sayin since nothing else has been revealed), I mean seriously did he really think Thawne would make everything back the way it was? Thawne hates him and would look for any chance to get at Barry. Haha loved when Thawne said " the future you isnt this stupid", really fits Barry perfectly as of late. Messing with time, complaining when he does, then not living with the choices he makes so he messes with time again.
watch the trailer; caitlin gains powers, cisco is depressed, jesse comes back with powers and earth 2 harrison wells (who now has a sense of humor), and jay garrick (the speedster one from season 2 finale) comes back. Even captain cold is back. Doctor alchemy, a crossover from felicity, and other rogues are also coming. Finally episode 7 is rumored to be focused on killer frost so I'm guessing caitlin is slowly getting corrupted
well my theory that wally wasnt healing was because he was critically injured ..his heart was essentially not full but damaged ..its just like in flashpoint comics and animation film when batman stabs/shoots reverse flash he doesnt rapid heal he just dies in that time period...or just as flash in season one when he was bitten by bees he went into cardiac arrest and would have died if he was not given electric shocks by the suit ..
Wally didn't heal because of Barry. There are some fixed points in time that have to happen, like the existence of a Flash. In the new timeline there was no way to fit Barry as the Flash into it, so the Speedforce chose Wally. But Barry was still THE generator for the speed force in all universes and timelines, so he kinda took over the role as the Flash in the revised timeline, since he is the original and there can't be two times the same person. The Flash may have different identities, but its still always the same person, if that sounds logical. Anyway the Speedforce basically corrected itself by taking the Speedforce from Wally and let Barry take the space.
then why would barry lose his speed even though if he lost his memories ..even a guy with altered memories can re discover that he has super speed when everything starts slowing down around him ? i know that theory does sound good its comic accurate but he was losing the memories of being the flash so wally could be the flash in that timeline and as he kept on remembering wally speed healing went off but it can work either way maybe wally was critically injured so speed healing stopped !barry inhaled the gas was going to die his speed healing worked only when the gas was removed from his lungs !
Mehrox Syed Just to get this out fo the way, Barry was loosing only bits of his memories everytime, so most of it stayed intact.If he would have done nothing he would have eventually lost his speed too, making this finally the new status quo. But like I said before, the Speedforce corrects itself when it has the posibility to do so. Barry was always meant to be The Flash, atleast in this universe, and the final thing that made Barry want to go back in time to fix it all was that Wally wasn't healing anymore. Barry made the desicion to be The Flash again since the Flash of this timeline was practically powerless, which then meant that the rest had to be normal too, so he would not loose his powers.

I think it's obvious what Barry has to do now. Now that he's not losing his memories or his powers, he just has to go back again, and stop himself from tackling Reverse-Flash in the first place. THEN -- ONLY THEN -- can he really undo all the Flashpoint Paradoxes that he created. And as a bonus... Reverse-Flash will cease to exist... AGAIN! What do you think of that?!
I think he should have just done that originally. He should have been concerned immediately when Thawne was the one who brought him to the future.

i was glad to see another review video that was longer than 20 mins like mine but lol this is just the episode and live reactions. i dont think these plot holes ppl mentioned are over looked. those 15 years have to have no reverse flash
So Barry would only need to stop his self from the end of season 2 from stopping Reverse-Flash the first time to set things straight? Seems to make sense. It would negate this whole episode and return it to Season 2 before he went back.
My only issue with the premiere was that the "Flashpoint" arc was over in a flash. I would have preferred a Part 1 and Part 2.

At 15:15, why did Akasan's guest said that The Rival was Eddie? CW already confirmed that Eddie is not coming back as the Rival. That was a bit cringy, watching his reaction for someone that he taught that wasn't. PS: its not a hate comment, just a warning to look up information before telling a false fact. If time has a way of correcting itself, then why didn't it after RF killed Barry's mom? She didn't die in the original timeline.

I think that the first few episodes are going to be somewhat of an extension of Flashpoint.. he will have to find out how to fix the time line and eventually become the Flash from the end of Season 1 that stops himself from saving his mom.

I thought this was a disappointment the flash didn't really have an alternate universe type feel it wasn't a dramatic shift from the other ones when he had to fix the timeline. I thought we could get more of a struggle with him and his family and friends. But still a good episode wally was great as the flash his charisma was so good as him. the rival suit should've been glowing at the lines he looked kinda of silly

rival is not Eddie it's a different guy. it was alchemy with the help of mirror master that wrote in the mirror and spoke to Edward

That is not Eddie. Different actor. DR. Alchemy is the main villain for this year. He was recruiting the rival at the end for his team. Dr alchemy is going to be like zoom last year. Played by an actor in the suit but a different actor is doing the voice. We will me him next week. He was looking for a speedster to team up with. So he went to Edward Clariss to help him kill flash.
Btw Akasan when u ended the tv at the thing when barry says what have i done and after flash ontro there was another bit to see!

Also one of my biggest problems with this episode was the ending. Not the cliff hanger but the whole "Iris and joe dont talk", they tried to play it off as some huge thing, Barry should be lucky thats all that has changed (just sayin since nothing else has been revealed), I mean seriously did he really think Thawne would make everything back the way it was? Thawne hates him and would look for any chance to get at Barry. Haha loved when Thawne said " the future you isnt this stupid", really fits Barry perfectly as of late. Messing with time, complaining when he does, then not living with the choices he makes so he messes with time again.
watch the trailer; caitlin gains powers, cisco is depressed, jesse comes back with powers and earth 2 harrison wells (who now has a sense of humor), and jay garrick (the speedster one from season 2 finale) comes back. Even captain cold is back. Doctor alchemy, a crossover from felicity, and other rogues are also coming. Finally episode 7 is rumored to be focused on killer frost so I'm guessing caitlin is slowly getting corrupted

well my theory that wally wasnt healing was because he was critically injured ..his heart was essentially not full but damaged ..its just like in flashpoint comics and animation film when batman stabs/shoots reverse flash he doesnt rapid heal he just dies in that time period...or just as flash in season one when he was bitten by bees he went into cardiac arrest and would have died if he was not given electric shocks by the suit ..
similarly rival was shot by joe in the episode and he died in that timeline ..there are certain things in which even rapid healing doesnt work too :/
Wally didn't heal because of Barry. There are some fixed points in time that have to happen, like the existence of a Flash. In the new timeline there was no way to fit Barry as the Flash into it, so the Speedforce chose Wally. But Barry was still THE generator for the speed force in all universes and timelines, so he kinda took over the role as the Flash in the revised timeline, since he is the original and there can't be two times the same person. The Flash may have different identities, but its still always the same person, if that sounds logical. Anyway the Speedforce basically corrected itself by taking the Speedforce from Wally and let Barry take the space.
then why would barry lose his speed even though if he lost his memories ..even a guy with altered memories can re discover that he has super speed when everything starts slowing down around him ? i know that theory does sound good its comic accurate but he was losing the memories of being the flash so wally could be the flash in that timeline and as he kept on remembering wally speed healing went off but it can work either way maybe wally was critically injured so speed healing stopped !barry inhaled the gas was going to die his speed healing worked only when the gas was removed from his lungs !
Mehrox Syed Just to get this out fo the way, Barry was loosing only bits of his memories everytime, so most of it stayed intact.If he would have done nothing he would have eventually lost his speed too, making this finally the new status quo. But like I said before, the Speedforce corrects itself when it has the posibility to do so. Barry was always meant to be The Flash, atleast in this universe, and the final thing that made Barry want to go back in time to fix it all was that Wally wasn't healing anymore. Barry made the desicion to be The Flash again since the Flash of this timeline was practically powerless, which then meant that the rest had to be normal too, so he would not loose his powers.

They didn't show the whole episode. They bought the right to show CW episodes, but they can only show a maximum of 10 minutes from each episode.

The time line is different again because Barry's mom was alive for longer than she should have been. That's at least what I think unless thawne changed something else too.
