Great to see some favorites features (Thomas Covenant, Shannara), something I look forward to reading (Drizzt), and some other newer options for me to check out!
I love videos like this. Discovering random new books is what it’s all about for me 🥳 need to continue the Drizzt series. I read the trilogy that starts with Homeland a while ago and I love Drizzt so much!
@@FineReads glad you like it! I'm planning to make more installments, but I want lists of solid recs first that also aren't being spoken about very often on here.
@@readerinthedesert_SaraBeth That one also looks good! I'll have to add it to my TBR so I don't forget to check it out at some point. Elizabeth Bear's too good, I definitely need to make my way through her backlist.
I love Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel books! And I agree that more people should be talking about them. They are truly full of political machinations and intrigue.
I really wish the marketing on them were better, there's so much in there that make these books deserving of so much more love and attention. I have the final trilogy to read, but saving it for when I'm ready for the mental anguish she'll dish out with what she'll put her characters through, ha.
Hell yeah you got me thinking of my next fantasy series I wanna start . Shannara and Thomas covenant looks like same stuff I would like, Dritz and kushiels look very interesting too. I’ll keep my eye out for a cheap copy master li
Many great books on this list. Hope to start China Miéville's Perdido in July, and always wanted to read the Drizzt series but that's an investment. Finally I have a copy of The Chronicles of Master Li...just not sure why I never got to it. Happy Reading!
Thanks! If it helps, I'm taking on Drizzt over the span of a couple years with a trilogy here, a trilogy there until I catch up, kind of how I managed Discworld. But even then yes, a big investment. Master Li's amazing, hopefully you get to it at some point. I'll keep an eye out for your thoughts on Perdido when you start it!
This is a great list Rabin. I’ll be checking out Perdido Street Station later this year. I’ve never heard Sword of Shannara described from your perspective. It’s so often trashed, but now I want to give it a chance. Dark Elf Trilogy has been on my list for a long time, ever since someone on Reddit opined Anomander Rake was inspired by him.
Thanks! And yea, Shannara's a series best appreciated within it's historical context at this point, and when you approach it from that angle they're fun reads. Certainly won't blow your socks off, but they are what they are. The white haired warrior's a whole fantasy trope unto itself, lol. I think the first was Elric from Michael Moorcock, who then inspired at least Drizzt, Anomander and Geralt that I can think of offhand. But I had so much fun with the Dark Elf trilogy, man, shockingly good. Hopefully you can check it out sometime soon!
LOL, he's certainly somehow been making the rounds lately. Bit surprising actually. Though to be fair, I'm fairly sure 95% of those readers will not go on to read as many of his books as you have.

Glad you found some new stuff on here!
This is a great list. I have a few of them on my TBR. I need to finally read them.

Oh and Elizabeth Bear she is fabulous! Love all of her novels!
Absolutely agreed! I need to read more of her stuff fairly soon. I'm looking forward in particular to her Edda of Burdens series.
@@OnlyTheBestFantasyNovels That one is great! I think my favorite is Promethean Age, although it has been a long time since I read it.

I think Drizzt is your best bet given classic sword and sorcery seems to be the most fun for you to read lately. The others may not work out so well.
Great list, there are some here I’m definitely interested in. Thanks for putting them on my radar
My pleasure!

@@OnlyTheBestFantasyNovels Wow, I had no idea about the White-haired warrior thing.
What a great list! Thanks for making this video. I've subscribed and hope you keep at it 😊
Thank you, I intend to!
Darn booktube! I wish Drizzt was less popular on booktube 🙊
