Local Forecast Severe Thunderstorm Warning- 4/26/11

A tornadic thunderstorm passes by to the northwest of Lansing, taking a very similar path to the path of one particular thunderstorm during the October 2007 outbreak. This storm provided for some fantastic pictures, some of which you can find at: s41.photobucket...
No tornado warnings were re-issued on the storm, and it weakened near Owosso to the northeast.
Also notice the buzzing appears to have returned, occurring during several segments in the local forecast. The song is "Fly Away (Birds Eye View Mix)" by Trance Fury.

dang, i used to watch all these warnings when i was 8 or 7, those were the ages i was scared of storms like those. pfff

This certainly was a scary time for the Eastern US. I barely missed out on this horrendous storm as I live in Eastern Virginia.

Here in PA, I got 3 Severe Thunderstorm Watches over 24 hours. On April 28th, I had 2 rounds of thunderstorms. One came thru around 7am and the next round came thru during the 11am hour, which was worse than the first. The 2nd round gave me continuous lightning, wind gusts 40-50 mph and heavy rain. In fact, I had a Tornado Warning at one point. Thankfully, there was no tornado in my area.

As far as I know, yes. There was a visible wall cloud with the storm, so there was some rotation.

with a hook echo like that at the end of the video, "radar confirmed" seems more appropriate during these warnings, imo

For a thunderstorm to be considered severe, it must have one or more of the following: wind gusts 58 mph or higher, hail of an inch in diameter or higher and/or a tornado. Loud thunder doesn’t really count as severe.
