The guide is great, there is always something new to learn. On this emulator, I've noticed that some pokemon games have black lines or dots in the image when OpenGL and high resolution are on, so perhaps it would be best to play them in software with screen filtering turned off.
You can start a MelonDS in fullscreen and also make it auto-load a game. Create a shortcut from MelonDS to wherever you want it to be then Right-Click -> Properties and edit "Target" this way : "path_to_melonDS" -f "path_to_game.nds" The "-f" flag here indicates to the emulator that it needs to start in fullscreen. For me, it looks like this : "E:\Emulation\Nintendo DS\melonDS" -f "E:\ROMs\Nintendo DS\Pokemon Platinum.nds"
Also maybe it's placebo but I've found that upscaling the resolution further than what it currently is set to helps get rid of the "black lines" in some Pokemon games.
Very usefull guide! I have a problem playing pokemon heartgold. Very often the screen goes black for like half a second. Like 4 times in on minute. I don t know if there s something I can do. (Thank you and sorry for my english)
@@user-lp9oe9mq4u absolutely 👍🏼 you will rarely get a graphic glitch that is no big deal inside of of Pokémon center , just open option menu and back out , or just leave building and it should fix. Non issue for me. Also I just set up melonDS last night and got Pokémon white running 👍🏼 enjoy !

Can you control the touchscreen with the right analog stick or is it like every other DS PC emulator which requires the mouse to use touchscreen
It's mouse for touchscreen. I don't think there's a 3DS emu that uses analog for the touchscreen
@@warpedpolygon well that sucks
Guess I'll have to keep using DraStic for Android then thanks!
My Mac has the latest software update however the master version of melon ds says it’s not compatible with my software and I don’t understand
