Hello from Nottingham England. I found LAP on my iPad early this year and have had much pleasure watching. I think the restoration is remarkable and congratulations to all concerned. It’s so different from anything in UK and thus most intriguing . I shall look forward to my “visits” in 2022 and send best wishes to all I have “talked with” over the past months. Just DO NOT change the station!.

Ive been to that station and Laplata. Ive got only good thoughts about that place. It is a special place to me.

What a nice little station, it’s clear that the caretaker does an excellent job in preserving it. It wouldn’t look out of place in an episode of Mad Men.

THANKS. I'VE BEEN WONDERING JUST WHAT EVERYTHING LOOKS LIKE BEHIND THE TWO CAMERAS. THIS IS PROBABLY MY FAVORITE RAILCAM BECAUSE THE TRAINS ARE SO CLOSE YOU COULD ALMOST REACH OUT AND TOUCH THEM. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

It’s very easily doable. Take the Southwest chief from Los Angeles, and you were there in just about a day and a half.

I am from la plata but from Argentina its town is called la plata in honor of the city of la plata Argentina where I live it is crazy to know that it is called like that

Interesting and enjoyable. Always wondered what it might look like after seeing the outside all these years and not expecting much from a small town station. Much nicer looking on the inside than I expected from just seeing the outside from the train cams. Hopefully the exterior refurbishment will mirror the neatness and of the attractiveness of the inside.

What a great tour and interesting story behind this station's history! Nearly every morning I catch the sunrise- and a train or two- on the VRF railcam. You couldn't meet a nicer group of people in the chat, and with our shared enthusiasm for trains. Due to the east-facing camera's position, I had no idea the station building is this size. The interior is beautiful. It feels like a little museum, and I wasn't expecting the model train setup. I subbed to your channel and look forward to watching past episodes of this Amtrak series, and to future videos.

With the world reopening, we are concentrating on returning to our love of cruising, however, there are 30 eps of Amtrak for you to enjoy, 7-ep Western USA (Feb-Mar 2021), and 23-ep Eastern USA, Aug-Oct 2020. Excellent video that brings back pleasant memories of the several times my wife and I actually used the LaPlata Station while traveling on Amtrak sleeper trains. I wonder if the "Bob" that you met is the same famous "La Plata Bob" I had the great pleasure of spending time with schmoozing about trains in his amazing office, (we even exchanged some RR memorabilia!) FYI: Bob even has / had his name applied in the Amtrak onboard dinner menu for one of their selections. THAT says it all. What a guy !!! 😁👍👍👍🚂🚃🚃🚃
Hi David, absolutely it is that Bob.. we went over to his office, during a couple of days’ stay that you can see in our AMTRAK series “eastern USA”; episode 22 I believe - it’s a full tour of LAP the town and the lookout station.
LAP is a great place for train fans!
