My favorite 14500 light is the Lumintop AA. It is just so user friendly and is really bright. I carry it everywhere. I also think the lit tail cap is very handy when you need to locate it quickly in the dark. Near perfect flashlight for the money.
I was personally impressed by the quality of Lumintop in that price range. I've had the Lumintop Tool AAA for 3 years, it's my go-to light for work. It fell on the floor, it fell into oil and gasoline, etc. It still works without error and I paid 10 dollars for it.
I use my AA 2.0 more than almost any other flashlight. If i was constantly outdoors it might be different. But whether it's at work, outside my house, working on a car, searching for something indoors, or whatever else the Lumintop pretty much does it. Battery life isn't much of an issue for me because I rarely use more than the first two brightness settings.
@@PardonMyEnglish yeah man, it is great and pretty reliable, like I never had problems with owning it. I have also used it numerous times when it was raining hard. Even though I just recently bought the Nitecore p20ix (needed the 4,000 lumens for land security), the Lumintop will still be in my edc pouch. Great video about the Tool mate, Cheers Mike
Awaiting my lumintop tool aa 2.0 with the nichia led. Should be here Saturday to play with, thinking about ordering the magnetic tail cap for it that changes it from clicky to twisty
I just ordered a lumentop 3.0 today and I’m confident it’s the right light for me With that said I can’t take my eyes off the olight, that thing is just gorgeous to look at
Great comparison video thanks for sharing. I think the i5r was a money grab for an extra 50 Lumens, I will stick with the i5t instead.🇨🇦 Those stickers look pretty sweet. ✌️Keep up the great videos.
Thank you! Yes, I personally like the i5Ts a lot. The output difference between the i5T and i5R is not noticeable to me to be honest. If you’re comfortable, shoot me an email and I’ll work on sending a sticker up North for you. I know you’ve been a supporter of the channel for a while. No pressure though.
A fairly high parasitic battery drain(per 1lumen review) is a no-go for anything you want to rely on. That would be a negative on the lumentop for sure, but I would also give the olight a plus for having a mechanical disconnect. If you're constantly charging the battery, it's not too much of an issue, but the drain also reduces the run times. The Lumintop gets a +1 for being able to tail stand. The cost of this version is a wash, though, as you need to buy the 14500 and possibly a charger. There seems to be a variant that costs $25 that comes with a battery and a magnetic tail cap that would address the parasitic drain... but it makes the light twist-activated.
Acebeam Pokelit AA is another great multi fuel flashlight, along with the Sofrin SP10 pro. I don't have a Lumentop, but I do have the Olight i5R. Of the 3, I like the Sofrin SP10 pro the best. It has Anduril 2 so you can go mode crazy 🤪.

I have a couple of the Olights but I do like the features of the L/T Tool AA. I am also interested in the Sofirn's that you reviewed. I'll look to see if you have supporting links for your channel. If you don't, you should! You'll find an email in your inbox.
Thank you for the kind words and for sticking with me. I don’t yet have a relationship with Sofirn (just Olight and now Imalent) but I’m hopeful to grow this channel and other business relationships over time. I’ll keep an eye out for your email 👍
The battery is optional for the lumintop, however I have to say that the 14500 ultrafire cells would only have around 100 to 200mah capacity rating vs a good cell of 800mah

Thank you! The i5R is a solid choice. I haven’t had 37 hours to do a test but I have a sneaking suspicion that the i5R would beat the Lumintop in a runtime test. I only say this because I have not seen 3.7v batteries last very long, even on low output settings.
@@PardonMyEnglish Yeah I tend to agree with you there having watched a few other channels doing run time tests on other 14500 flashlights. My i5r is in daily use especially with our current electricity load shedding programmer 🤔.

Yeah, the illuminated tail switch is a nonstarter for many. And yes, the Olight i5R can use standard 14500s but there is not a noticeable increase in output (at least not to me).
