    Japanese make everything phenomenally high quality. Their shaving blades are awesome too, we all know where the legendary samurai sharp blades come from.

    Great shave Mark. First, congrats on your grandchild! I'm glad you enjoyed the razor. Many people get as many as 8-12 shaves on a blade, but ymmv. Thank you for the kind words. Thanks for showing me the USMC Vets group also. I was hoping to meet you at the SRD meet, but we were both unable to make that one. Happy Fourth sir!

    Great shave. I use the Feather artist ss and love it. I also notice the three passes you performed were the same type three passes I perform, I.e 2nd pass going from ear to nose and on the 3rd pass under the nose ( fools pass as it’s called ) in exactly the same way as I.
    I thought I’d found my own unique style but have it as well. Keep up the great shaves and Don’t give it up. You’re an educator!! How else are people supposed to learn if you give up.
    Regards,
    Nick ( United Kingdom)

    I'm tempted now with that Feather razor.
    There have been a couple of your videos "not longer available" that I missed. ... probably copyright infringements, I suspect your background music.
    Great shaving technique and I developed my technique watching your videos so I thank you for that.

      MrRRSODL Thanks for watching. I actually thinned out some of my older video's. Have a great 4th of July.

      Mark Dayoc I haven't checked again but your video after your holiday in the UK was reported as not longer available. I was hoping to see something about your experience at a barber's in Winchester ( less than an hour away from where I'm )

      MrRRSODL I was really looking forward to this but it never happened. His wife's mother, or father, passed away an he emailed me cancelling my scheduled shave. So then I thought I'd substitute by getting a shave at Truefitt & Hill or TOBS. You can forget that; it was like 190 pounds at Truefitt & Hill for haircut and shave and 70 pounds just for a shave at TOBS. I wasn't about to spend that kinda money for a shave😡

    • @MrRRSODL
      @MrRRSODL 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mark Dayoc I'm sorry to hear that. I don't think you missed much. Earlier this year I had a shave at Trumper's and it was nice and relaxing but they don't do ATG which for me it's like only half a shave. I can understand why they don't do it though.

    Nice shave Mark, people falling for the charms of the Feather SS is becoming increasingly common. Totally agree about Ronnie, he's a good man. Happy 4th of July from the UK

      Dave Card Thanks for watching. I just visit London a month ago. Enjoyed our stay of 10 days there. Went to TOBS, Truefitt and Hill, and Geo Trumpers. Pretty cool but wow very expensive for a shave! Had to pass on getting one!

      Mike Orsini to me they are the best shavette. Enjoy your close comfortable shaves! Thanks for watching.

      I wanted to get into traditional straights but I hear he upkeep can be a pain and the feather razors are actually sharper than the honing most people can achieve.

    • @michaelorsini9695
      @michaelorsini9695 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just had my 3 pass shave with the SS version, not the DX version. It took me half an hour to get a DFS....not BBS just quite yet but that will improve with my technique. I got one nick under my chin but other than that, it went very well. It's definitely more of a zen like experience...you really have to pay attention to what you're doing, that's for sure.

    • @markdayoc3907
      @markdayoc3907  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mike Orsini the more experience you'll achieve great shaves. Maintenance is required with straight razors but to me well worth it. There are many who can hone razors very well. I like to think my edges are as good as anyone's. SHAVE ON!

    • @michaelorsini9695
      @michaelorsini9695 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Mark...now you got me thinking...I have several old straight razors that need a resharpening...probably a re-bevelling....what grit stones do you use to sharpen your straight razors?

    Nice video brother! I wet shave. But I’ve always wanted to use a straight razor. I really like using Feather blades in my DE’s.. Feather really makes great stuff. Had my eye on them for a while. My Barber shaves me with a Feather and I really like the shave I get. I think I’ll give it a shot... God Bless

      Dryocum thanks for stopping by. As with everything, the more you use it the more proficient you will become. Eventually it turns into muscle memory and second nature. These razors are nice. If you want to use a straight razor what are you waiting for? They are awesome shaves. Enjoy, keep it fun, and SHAVE ON!

    Hello, I'm using the KAI Captain. It is fantastic. I've sold all my vintage straight razors. No stones, no stopes. Do you know it? Are there difference with the Artist SS? Thanks. And what about the blades? I'm using the Pro Guard but I would like to try the super or the professional. What do you think? Thank you from Italy.

    Yea great. I got one for myself. Good tool. BUT!!! I’m environmentally aware.. and I don’t have a grandson not even a child. Damn dude.. All the praying might help now but will be utterly useless in the future for your grandkid when there is shortage of water. Wake up, people. Stop the bloody tap between rinses. GOD!!!
