@ just crazy more people don’t know about it, and that you can get it for free. Also you don’t see Star Wars for free anywhere, doesn’t matter how old something is.
As a high school drama teacher who instantly purchased this dvd of this movie as soon as it hit the stands, and who has watched it dozens of times, my favorite thing to say to my cast and crew on opening night is…”Guess what kids? We may be going to Broadway” 😂
"Remember how much we got egged last year?" This brief first opening scene immediately brings you into the warped world of this film. An all time comedy classic!
Favorite moment: During rehearsal of “Stools” when Sheila comes in a measure early and loudly sings, “Stoo..!” before realizing her mistake 😂🤣😂 Catherine O’Hara is a genius!
You guys are AWESOME for posting this! Really! I'm trying to get all my friends into Christopher Guest and this helps immensely! Thank you Warner Bros! ❤
22:58 Clifford Woolley has a ‘Ship in a bottle’ on his TV and the bottle has a sippy cap 💀 There are hundreds of blink-and-you’ll-miss-it visual gags in this movie!! 🤣
lol !! You gave $2 to a multi-billion dollar company that posted its own movie from nearly 30 years ago... as if they even asked or need it!? smh Hahaha
May I suggest you check out the film 'Party Girl' that Parker stars in. It came out a few years before this movie and she is adorable in it. The movie is free on youtube as well.
Seen it a dozen times, but not for several years. I cannot believe a movie I’ve seen so many times, and I did not skip forward even a second. A masterpiece. My one critique is I think the end should of been Corky sitting with there with that look on his face after reading the note.
A very closely observed - and more than a little mean - satire on a certain subset of Americans, and the perfect ensemble cast to perform it. Corky St. Clair may seem like a caricature, but I can assure you he's not really that far from reality; there was a Corky in my life, and aside from the haircut, a dead ringer. I miss him terribly.
28:25 oh that’s odd. Corky says “Okay” just as the OK soda machine shows up in the background. OK Soda was known for quirky marketing i wonder if this an intentional example of it.
@@jenna-a-gogo "This is Spinal Tap" is not a Christopher Guest movie. It's a Rob Reiner movie. Reiner directed it and co-wrote it. Guest was just one of the actors and co-wrote with the other 2 guys and Reiner.
@@blu48 Agree, the crowd eating up every scene is one of the running gags, as well as the disparity between the horrible acting and the super high level musical group. Put all three together and it works really well.
I can't even with this movie😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Christopher Guest just makes magic! 😊 I adore his cast! I adore his friends! I adore how he attacks all these hilarious mockumentary subjects... I did not like this movie when I was younger 😮 and now it just.. tickles me so much😂🎉🎉🎉❤
This might be a marketing move by Warner Bros. There is a new Spinal Tap movie coming out and it is produced by a subsidiary of Warner, Castlerock. Best in show is also coming up in my TH-cam feed.
Corky sitting in the tub listening to ranchero. Brilliant. I think the lyrics are: "ahora ya hablo inglés, me visto de traje; ya no quiero las tortillas... prefiero un café..." ("I now speak english, I wear a suit; no longer want tortillas... I prefer a coffee...").
Insane that this is free right now. This is the stuff. The best. All you want. Perfect ❤
Why is it "insane"? It's almost 30 years old.
@ just crazy more people don’t know about it, and that you can get it for free. Also you don’t see Star Wars for free anywhere, doesn’t matter how old something is.

Catherine O'Hara's bangs should have won best supporting actress for this
And Christopher Guest's (Corky's) costumes should get best supporting actor!! 😅
@@slimviscous6655 his mom cuts his hair 🤣
She does everything right - Unsung !!
Ohara mouthing Willard's lines is the best. There's no better cast for comedy.
Their simultaneous 'saddle up' psych gesture to each other, in matching warmup suits, is priceless visual gold.
Such a great cast... Fred Willard, Catherine O'Hara... Out of all the Chris Guest films this might be the funniest!
And he hadn’t even peaked yet. Best in Show and Mighty Wind were yet to come.
Excuse you, but IMHO the funniest Chris Guest movie is Death Wish
"Best in show" is best....in show.
‘This Is Spinal Tap’ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I like all his movies, but This is Spinal Tap is hands down the most hilarious of them all.
Christopher Guest is a maverick. Love his films and his cast members. Exceptional talent all round.
Best line of the movie - “everybody dance!”
I thought this too 😊
100
"Remember how much we got egged last year?" This brief first opening scene immediately brings you into the warped world of this film. An all time comedy classic!
Love this movie sooooo much! "Well, I'm going to go home and bite my pillow!" Corky is the best.
Love these movies! Just finished "For Your Consideration". "Mighty Wind" and "Best In Show" are my favorites.
Mine, too! Happy New Year.
Fred Willard making his wife Catherine OHara do his hair, then the next scene he’s wearing a hat
"That whole thing" will forever be one of my favourite lines from a movie. So brilliantly subtle.
Favorite moment: During rehearsal of “Stools” when Sheila comes in a measure early and loudly sings, “Stoo..!” before realizing her mistake 😂🤣😂 Catherine O’Hara is a genius!
That was during the stool boom!
So great. I love it when Parker sings Teacher's Pet.
I hope they keep this movie up, or I’m gonna bite my pillow!
😂😂
Like Corky?
@ yes, just like Corky!😂
That Chinese dinner scene is the 3k karat diamond of improv.
Hopefully Catherine O'Hara receives a lifetime achievement award from Oscar Academy.
This is so wonderful that Warner Brothers is offering this on TH-cam. Such a hilarious film 😂.
As a theater kid, this movie speaks to me on so many levels
Anything Christopher Guest - bring it on!
Hidden gem right here 🤯
This movie got lots of acclaim and attention over the years... hardly a "hidden gem" at all.
This is so charming, and the entire cast put their all into it. You can tell how much they enjoyed themselves. Bravo!
The best Guest comedy and maybe my favorite comedy of all time.
This movie has so much heart in it.
You guys are AWESOME for posting this! Really! I'm trying to get all my friends into Christopher Guest and this helps immensely!
Thank you Warner Bros! ❤
i’ve heard of this movie just never got around to watching it. It’s funny.
One of my all-time favorites and hard to track down these days
Thank you, Warner Bros. I’ve loved this movie for years
Great stuff. All praise to our Coporate Overlords for allowing us peasants a slice of bread.
That’s the sprit bread and circus
My first time seeing this most appreciated movie! It's a crazy month, this movie helped me decompress into another dimension. Thank you! 🤟
Brilliant, always wanted to see this and let’s celebrate the stools!
one of the greatest films ever made
36:11 "What I need is a hundred thousand dollars." Lol, I broke out laughing at exactly the same time as the mayor and the councillors.
Thank you so much for posting Waiting for Guffman, and making it free to watch. It's one of my favorite movies!
It makes me want to move to Blaine and get on board for the tri-centennial production!!
I'm glad to see this getting some modern day exposure great movie so silly
I always felt for Steve. I wanted him to give up his pharmacist job and go to NYC with Corky and help run the memorabilia shop.
I’m pretty sure they actually shot that and it just didn’t end up in the final cut.
It is one of the running gags for the observant
Thank you for uploading this. I still remember when my brother asked me if i had seen waiting for Guffman.
Great story.
22:58 Clifford Woolley has a ‘Ship in a bottle’ on his TV and the bottle has a sippy cap 💀 There are hundreds of blink-and-you’ll-miss-it visual gags in this movie!! 🤣

Fred Willard playing the "big Blaine star in a small pond" perfectly. All those years on Fernwood 2Night paid off.
Just did a 4 Guest movie marathon, needed the laughs. 😊
Thanks Warners
Guest is a Genius
Please enable captions! The dialogue is so great
Thanks WB!
First Barry Lyndon, now Waiting for Guffman? WB has officially begun using scanning my brain requests.
The young Parker Posey was such a _slice_
Any Parker Posey's a slice...did you catch her on the show, 'Louie'(CK)? She was a vision , then a ghost !? But so impactful.
@petermccormack3786 yeah, she was great!
But she was just so _young_ in this!
May I suggest you check out the film 'Party Girl' that Parker stars in. It came out a few years before this movie and she is adorable in it. The movie is free on youtube as well.
@ryline666 thanks, will do! 😊
Did she just say "CORKY WE WANT YOU TO LIVE!!!" 😂😂😂
2:47 He couldn’t even guide them past Missouri. 😂
8:40 David Cross does a perfect little cameo here.
Like the British Elite Forces couldn't find an Iraqi in Iraq!
What a brilliant movie. Off the charts funny.

The show's OVERTURE❤
Corey really nailed that casting with the narrator.
“Theater burns, dozens flee”
The BEST!!!
😂😂😂
*nothing ever happens on Mars -
Boring boring boring*
This movie is where PARKS AND RECREATION came from.
I was just about to say that! Clearly the inspiration for mockumentary TV
Also “The Office”
Blaine, Missouri and Pawnee, Indiana are Sister Cities.
Parker Posey should receive a lifetime achievement Oscar for the Dairy Queen intro alone.
All the cast was great and intergral but I would argue without Parker Posey's performance the whole film shines less
"I said - Ron,... do something"! 🤣🤣🤣

Same, my career counselor in Lexington, MO. He was hilarious without ever even trying to be. I hope he's well
The songs, the sets, the simplicity
I used to think the film punched down, but now I think it is very warm hearted through and through.
It's mostly making fun of amateur theatre people, and as one of them, I can tell you no one loves this movie more than amateur theatre people.
11:01 Bob Odenkirk waiting to audition as a Dracula?
I just noticed that !! And David Cross as the alien circle guy 😂
Yeah and he said Blaine had only five letters
Thank you, thank you, thank you. One of my favourite movies!!!!
Brilliant- fantastic crew of actors.😂
Amazing what these masters of improv achieve in his films
I feel like the Blaine historical paintings were done by the same guy who did the Schitt’s Creek “it’s ok she’s my sister!” billboard. 😂
28:25 oh that’s odd. Corky says “Okay” just as the OK soda machine shows up in the background. OK Soda was known for quirky marketing i wonder if this an intentional example of it.
Yes! Best casting ever
One of my favorites ever!
Thank you for some comedy today. I love these guys and love you, utube for another excellent choice of a free, great funny movie!
Nice upload! This is the only Christopher Guest movie ive never watched before.
If you like this, I highly recommend This is Spinal Tap. It's even more hilarious.

Best of show is funny too.
Of course he is great in "Princess Bride" !!!
Best in Show is one of the funniest I've ever seen. Highly recommend.
This brilliant band of misfits made me laugh a small innocent laugh!
That was really somethin'.
The orchestra is spectacular.
This definitely went up to eleven
The greatest movie ever made. A litmus test for me.
This is the best!
YES! Back when Prime Guest was only continuing to trend upward.
How about running SPINAL TAP, PLEASE!!
When a Random familiar sounding and Fantasic cast comes arcross my TH-cam I must must watch! Sounds fun!! Thanks!!
What's great is that the play is strangely enjoyable. It would have been way too easy and obvious to make it absurdly bad.
I love the scenes of the audience being highly entertained and loving every second of the play.

Ok we got this and Best in Show...we need Guests other movies in here
They do have For Your Consideration
The correct title is Lord Christopher Guest. He is heir to a peerage
It's funny because it's REAL !!! ❤
The landing site circumference and diameter change by a few inches, yet the radius remains the same 🤣
Hilarious. Brilliant Cast and writers.
Brilliant
Very nice !
'The Remains of the Day' lunchbox.
Possibly the most depressing film ever made 😂
This movie makes me feel homesick for my childhood, I had a horrible upbringing🤭
Real Americana!!!
Thanks Bros.
Hilarious Masterpiece.
"...a dance belt and a tube of chapstick, basically...." SO many of us have started that way....
“She hasn’t cried this much since the day we got married.” 😂😂😂
Man, it reminds of Drop Dead Gorgeous, Parks and Recreation, Spinal Tap. It’s great
I'd give anything for Corky's shirt wardrobe.
I forgot about Judy Tenuta!
My ex went to school with Johnny Savage, Adrian High School, Michigan. I remember when we first watched this, she was like..."What? Thats Matt"!
This film could be the prequel to Napoleon dynamite 🧨
