That's the way it was for me yesterday with the wind. I did have a good day though. Quite a few trout out in the bay over here.. You got some great shots of the bait and that school of Jacks tearin them up. Not going to get much better than that for a shot. Expecially in a Kayak. Nice work man.
I've caught all of two fishies in my life. One I don't know what it is...I wonder if you could tell me. I can describe it fairly well. - the body portion (not with the fins) was about the size of my hand. A little fish. - it was caught in Corpus Christi TX, on the surf using snails I found...all the dang fish were eating my bait! - it was the brightest silver I've ever seen on anything...super bright - tail was yellow and it had a black dot on the back and a bit of red somewhere (but I don't remember specifically where) - I believe it was in the 'Jack' family, just by the shape (kinda diamond) Does that description ring any bells? I've searched many times but have never found a similar fish. I don't know if it was fully grown or a baby fish.
I’ve only fished the keys twice and I’m from California but if you get yourself a lighter set up 20 to 30 pound leader and a gulp swimming mullet. If you rip it across the surface as fast as you can you will catch a ton of barracuda. If you work at slower it’s possible to catch snapper and jacks. If you want to catch more exotic species I find that using bread dough Will catch you a variety of fish including parrot fish. Tight lines bud! Good luck!
Super unfortunate that that barracuda was eaten by the sharks. We can’t save them all though. Nice video man! Can’t wait to go back to Florida! I’m from California but last time I went to Florida I figured out a way to target amberjack from a pier close to Fort Lauderdale. I find them to be more fun than Tarpon just because they’re easier to get to bite but they’re just as difficult to land. They love snags and they are so powerful it’s hard to get a good angle on them. Still so much fun though!

@@joerob3449 Not high on the Edibility list and will hit about anything like Bluefish they're just sort of considered a Teaser fish by pretty much everyone I know but they do fight strong not smart but strong

Came from the cape to key west went fishing yesterday down byrhe hospital caught a nurse shark and some little guys any advice for a tourist!?
