My mother's friend from high school, Lauren Wagner, was the 10th victim of the "Hillside Stranglers." My mom lived in Sepulveda at the time, very close to where Lauren lived and was abducted. So much attention regarding these cases goes to the police investigation and the murderers while very little about the victims and their lives are publicized. Lauren was a very sweet, shy and somewhat introverted young woman, from what my Mom has said about her. She doesn't like to talk about what happened because Lauren was her friend. This case still comes to mind from time to time. This happened just about 2 years before I was born. I wish they'd talk more about the victims, but I realize many of the families want and are entitled to their privacy.
I'm so glad police detectives like Frank Salerno (who also worked the "Night Stalker," Richard Ramirez case) put Angelo Buono and Kenneth Bianchi away! Sick, evil bastards! God bless the men and women of law enforcement for their hard work on cases like this.

Have you heard the clip of richard ramerez saying killing is killing whether its for duty, profit or fun..thats from the satanic bible but it was taken out of context for shock value. Think that was actual written by rodney alcala on a note to one of his GF's they were both killing at the same time also both called the night stalker another point of interest is thats why the suspect description was wildly inaccurate alcala tried to discuise hisself with hats & wigs

I love your podcast. There is one Theory connection that I have made after listening to many of them. And that connection is Rochester New York. I will never again is it Rochester New York, nor will I ever allow myself to be alone with somebody who has lived in Rochester New York.

It seems that a very common denominator in serial killings is brain injury, or disorders that are physiological - as in the case also of Richard Ramirez, The Night Stalker. (just my observations)
Read “programmed to kill” and you’ll find out why these guys really did it, and other serial killers too.
