A really cool in-game effect is where the music will dynamically skip to the build-up part when its charging plasma. At first I thought it was just lucky timing, but it kept happening. That was a cool detail!
The music really set the vibe and this theme makes me wanna survive and feeling epic while doing so. Aloy theme always brings me to tears. Makes me feel hopeful in a time of dread.
At one time the build up really made me shiver as i kept missing my shots on his plasma generators....man these kinds of moments are remarkable and momerable which very few games do!!
I first came across a slaughterspine when I was level 27. It kerb stomped me. And again. Then again. Then I got close, but it drained all my health items and clipped me with a plasma burst, which killed me. Then I noticed it was a level 45 enemy. It was 18 levels higher than me. I decided to come back and fight it later. My revenge was glorious. I sniped the leaplashers from the mountain before gliding down and going womano-a-roboto with it and systematically took it to pieces.
@@Pro_Butcher_Amateur_Human dont look at the level. aloys level will only give her +10 life per level. so your potential damage output at lvl 20 can be the same as lvl 50 x)

Not quite. This music (called Built to Kill) also plays during a Tremortusk battle. But it's still a nice touch for different types of machines to have specific battle music. The Corrupter and Deathbringer had a unique theme. So did the Thunderjaw and Stormbird. And now, the two big bad machines in this game, the Tremortusk and Slaughterspine, have a unique theme as well.

First time I saw a slaughter spine I was wandering through the Lowland territory and finally came out of the trees on the beach, which is also the first time I'd seen the beach in my play through. While I was taking in the visuals I rotated the camera to the right, saw the outline of the slaughter spine, because it was night time, I out loud said "What the heck is that? 😰" And noped over to the row boat to Legacy's Landfall.
I honestly think the Slaughterspine has the worst location for keeping it a mystery. Can you imagine if the first time you saw one was in Gemini? It would be terrifyingly glorious.

Had the best fight in San Fransisco: Just chilling at night, just opened a metal flower, casually trying to kill three watchers blasting plasma at me, and this music plays.. no clue why sh*t just got epic, then I turned and this majestic BEAST struds slowly out between the ruins like an angry momma bear, giving me a final warning to run away or die. Best most epic moment, best most epic fight, and honestly best arena, the close nit buildings, the night time lighting, the charging music, so epic-- aaargh I can't even!!!!
The way the riser part of the track syncs up with the plasma charge in the game is fucking epic. One of my favorite fights in the game, even if I probably die more than I succeed.
The fireclaw was and still is my favorite boss surprises. The music plus it just swinging down onto the floor made it for me. BUT i was genuinely curious for how they where gonna recreate another oh shit ive gotta either kill this thing or die repeatedly trying. And they went above and beyond a fucking plasma spinosaurus rising outta the mist with music to match him charging up while you're desperately trying to stop it from fucking you up all while hephaestus is telling you off. Perfect👌
I found one out in the wild before the actual boss fight, and coming up to the obvious boss arena with almost no cover, I thought, “what have they got in store for me? Oh no…” as the music started playing.

Love the Slaughterspine, and there is a rumor saying it is a godzilla easter egg with some of the attacks referencing the big lizard himself, heck even the swell in the music @ 1:00 to the atomic breath

Despite this game's issues ( melee pits needing cheese on very hard and up, a certain hunting ground challenge not even possible to do properly on such difficulties, Aloys annoying stickiness to random rocks) it's things like this that make it a must play
@@jacobcox4565 I'm not too certain. I went to that one location in the southeast lowlands where a TJ and Tremortusk hangout and had them fight each other, overriding each one alternatively. The overriden TT vs TJ is a much closer fight than vice versa. I would assume that if both were on equal terms, TJ would win. Thus, I would definitely like to see it go up against a SS, sadly their territories are nowhere near one another.
In the snow area, I was close to a thunderjaw area until I thought it was but then out of nowhere it was a slaughterspine. One of the most holy shit encounters in gaming

When I first met the Slaughterspine I found an Apex one, and it is not even on my top 3 of the hardest machines to kill or even top 3 on my Scariest machines list. What makes it so terrifying like seriously it ain't so bad fighting it...if anything it's fun hunting one of them. The only thing it has is being #2 on my annoying machines list.
