Great video man I've got a Polaris 400 ranger And I couldn't figure out how to change oil on this thing for the life of me lol. Completely way different than my Polaris 1000 ranger

Recently brought a 2011, with 350 hrs. No book with it. Had a hell of a time finding the dip stick. Never seen an engine that had a engine oil reservoir. Why you wouldn't drain the crankcase when changing oil dumbfounds me. Although i like to never got the crankcase plug back in after changing it. When i pulled the reservoir plug, the oil came out in clumps. 😳 Pretty sure it was factory oil.🤦‍♂️ Used a wix filter and Kawasaki 10-40 I had. Figured if the engine hadn't seized with the oil that was in it, the Kawasaki would be fine. Magnetic oil drain plug was full of metal sludge as well.....

My goodness!! If I was you after about 10 hrs of riding I would change the oil and filter again. Definitely need to get all the sludge out. Thanks for watching and be sure to like and subscribe to our channel.

@crankitt825 You're probably right. But after a couple hrs of running, the oil is so clean, that it's hard to see on the stick. I think the magnetic plug may have helped 🤔

Yes the magnetic plug does help out a lot. If the oil continues to look good then I would at least change the filter just in case that caught the rest of the sludge.

What grade of oil, i.e. 10w30, 20w30 etc... and how much? for a 2013.

Can anyone tell me where the small breather line comes from that goes into the air filter box? The one that is located on the passenger side. I know where the other one comes from but don’t see it on my recently bought atv. It had its air box removed and I don’t see any line that goes to that passenger side.
