Fr. Mike, you're so funny. I realized after watching this video, I need to stay awake and pray more for priests for God's protection and blessings to be upon them always. They have a tough fight to go through. We all do, but I imagine evil spirits will target priests even more than others.

The Maronite church came out of Modern day Syria in the 5th century from disciples of Saint Maron, a desert monk and contemporary of John Crysostom. The Liturgy and Spirituality is very deeply connected to Christianity's Jewish roots and to Monastic wisdom and asceticism.

And also sadly, how I once had a very similar silly side to myself that I kind of lost a little through life; I am much too uptight and serious at times. You are goals, to get back to that..
I hope you get your sense of humour and lightness of heart back. My husband passed away nearly ten years ago after suffering Parkinson's disease for sixteen years but people still remember him for his quick wit and quirky sense of humour. God bless.

I've learned more from you about Catholicism than any where else. I was baptized as a Catholic but my parents went another way. I have friends that are Catholic and I have asked questions but they don't know. I've tried to read about the beliefs but could hardly keep awake. You make learning fun! I've never been to confession, partly because I'm scared, partly because of my parents. My parents aren't as much into their faith as I am, and they think really different about certain subjects. Confession is one of them, my father says that it's not for him. I think I want to go, but I also have to find a priest that I trust and that comforts me. I'm just on a journey of faith and slowly step-by-step getting further into faith

I suppose, it depends on various factors when Priests get to hear a number of confessions.
Although God's service prepares them in advance to relieve confessors from sin.
Jesus Christ our savior helps us more at times of need and distress,same is with them.😀😇

I love how well he's answering these questions like he's talking to a person who hasn't been in the faith or isn't in the faith for some time (probably because of the questions themselves that help with that) and how softly he tackles all these questions so as not to hurt the person or people who have asked them.

Hey can you do a video on what to do after confession and penance, like how to go about your life in a way that keeps you out of the confessional a bit longer how to pray what to change et cetera
Confession is the sacrament of healing and holiness, is the way to fill us with grace to feel free to come back any time we need it without be an obligation!
My tip is to stay as close to the sacraments as you can. Go to confession often (you can confess venial sins as well), go to mass during the week days as well if you can, also talk to God all the time, make Him your "buddy", remember He is always with you. At night, I like to think of some things I could've done better and ask God to help me actually do it better the next day. 😊
@@bestofburden yeah it is, the last thing you say in the act of Contrition is "I FIRMLY resolve with the help of thy grace to sin no more and avoid the near occasion of sin, yes we fall and that is quite the lofty goal but it is goal we should aim for(read Romans 6) and yes saints went often because they understood their sinfulness but that doesn't mean we should be ok or lukewarm with our sins, one Saint once said "better to die than to sin"

You guys should do a video on bringing children to mass! Because I know for my wife and I we feel like the whole time were trying to calm our 3 young children. And at times we feel disconnected from the mass
Normal. It will pass. Been there. My 12 yr old son has ADHD...as a 3-4-5 year old try to keep him paying attention and behaving in Mass. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Once, I remembered he was so terribly misbehaving and laughing out loud, pulled him out of Mass drove to the house and we both kneeled in front of a picture of Divine Mercy and sang songs and pray a mistery of the rosary. HE DID IT. The "one to one" attention. Then, we drove back to pick up my daughter and husband. He was 3.5 yrs old.
You are not alone. Advice: do lectio divina in mid week with your wife or read the Sunday readings ahead of time, makes a huge difference!!! Hang in there, time flies. You are introducing your kids to Jesus, the best gift you can give them. ❤️🙏
You are a HOOT.....I'm 72 and was raised a Catholic, educated in Catholic schools and live my adult life as a Catholic. However, all the priest I have encountered have been stoic, reserved and, especially as a young person, unapproachable. Its so refreshing to find a priest that can make those around him feel so comfortable and approachable. Thank you
