This thing is absolute genius. The combination sequence has clearly been thought out in excruciating detail while they were designing this thing. Price tag is ridiculous, but that's pretty much the norm for these figures.
You commented that you still love to play with these toys at 37. Do not feel bad. I would love to play with these as well and I am 45. Also, I think it would awesome if they made other monsters robots like Mecharodan or Mechamothra.

Rewatching this I just realized that you could just transform the torso pieces together first and add the leg region afterwards to make it much more simple
Just got ahold of this guy because of your vid, he's a ball. But did you notice that the fans in Garuda's wings can rotate like Windblade's? There's a detent, it takes a little force to pop it out, but still, fans can pivot around in their housings.
I love everything about Godzilla and his enemies, but I wish this beast was a little bigger. Still nothing American made comes close to this type of detail.

I FINALLY got this figure for Christmas & I LOVE IT!!! Note: I'd lucked out, in that I got it on AMAZON for $143.00, which seemed like a reasonable/more affordable price tag. Unfortunately, one of the Chest pieces broke off, (I didn't assemble it yet), and so I gotta return it for another one. That's fine b/c at least I got my hands on one & I can't wait to do a diorama w/this MechaGodzilla against Godzilla.

well your close, but it has nothing to do with budget, it's because for the size they wanted him to be it would be impossible to have it looks like the concept design and have a person in the suit, the arms needed to be shorter so that the person in the suit can bend his arms, the legs needed to be shorter, the shoulders are way too high for a person to fit in the suit, and basically once you modify all those things you get the final product in the film. The concept art would make a good anime, but not for a practical suit.

Someone should repaint this to have normal Godzilla's color scheme, give it a "weathered" look, Grimlock's G1 color scheme or the MMPR Dragonzord.
