    Good afternoon. Please i just started the business yesterday. Please how do i know if they have had enough to eat? I fed them gradually for 5 minutes, adding little quantity gradually but i couldn't tell if i underfed them because alot of fingerlings were still at the top of the water acting hungry. Out of fear of overfeeding them i stopped. Please i need clear explanation..thank you

      Look at the bottom of the pond when you feed. When feed begin to gather there without being eaten, it's time to stop.

    Hello Sir, good to hear from you after a while. I noticed you didn't mention feeding jumbo size 3mm till they stretch to 4mm, why is that? Also can 4.5mm serve as 4mm?

    • @gregosuma
      @gregosuma  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most of my lectures are geared towards reducing production cost. There is a strategy I use in my farm where by I stretch certain feeds a bit until I progress into the next level of feed size. Like this I scale a particular size and progress into a higher one. Like double promotion thing you know. However this is not the conventional way in the business, it's just my own style.

      @@gregosuma thank you sir, I understand better now. I will like to here your teachings on tarpolin pond disinfectant. I mean not the part of introducing your fingerlings in the pond but at progressive stages. I change my water everyday but recently noticed a few of my fishes had infection which is gradually resulting to mortalities. Thank you for your lectures sir. God bless you

    • @gregosuma
      @gregosuma  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@glorymonday7176 sorry about that. I hope you didn't over stock? Some times poor quality feed can cause such, stress also can open them up to infection.

    Gdmorn sir, what sizes of fish should I go for as a starter? I have 1000, 2000 and 1500 litres tanks. How many fishes can stock on them say from fingerlings to table size?

    • @gregosuma

      Poor water quality, and over stocking can cause this. I'll advice you space you fishes out immidietely, change their water daily, stop feeding for now. And when you start, start with a quality feed and feed them little until they are well enough to pick their normal quantity. This might help, however it is very difficult to handle what's going on with your fishes now.

    Nice one Mr Greg...u said u feed ur fingerlings 4 times a day, won't u polute their water by feeding them 4times?.
    Then secondly, how do u know the stages of fish from fingerlings to post fingerings and to juvenile etc??.

    • @gregosuma
      @gregosuma  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I feed sparingly and make sure I don't pollute their water. Time and growth sizes will enable you know their different stages from fryers to juv.

    Hi please how many bags of feed will feed 20,000 fishes in the first 2 months from Juvenile

    • @gregosuma
      @gregosuma  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on who is feeding, how many times they are fed, when they are fed, and how often they're sorted. So I can't give a definite answer to this question

    • @gregosuma

      Over feeding can do that, but not always. Bloated stomach can also be a sign of infection.
