    Thank you very much for this beautiful information. I've been Inpatiently waiting for when you will make a video on changing pond water. I stocked about 500 juvenile fishes in a 10ft x 9ft close system pond. I usually change their water every 2 days. However I have 2 questions
    1. Do I need to drain the pond completely before adding fresh water. I saw somewhere that only about 20% of the water should be drained before adding fresh water.
    2. Must all the fishes excreta be flushed out before adding new fresh water. It's usually hectic trying to get all the excreta flushed out

    • @gregosuma
      @gregosuma  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes you need to drain the pond completely, flush out any little remaining, then lock up the outlet and fill fresh water.

    Gd evening sir, I luckily come across your utube on catfish farming and I must say it has been a wonderful and amazing experience. Thank u so much for the good work. Ur programs have been so informative. I have pls a question becos I am also very new in the Business. How do u count ur fishes to be sure they are complete according to your orders be these fishes are very small for good record purposes.

    • @gregosuma
      @gregosuma  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can't recount if I order because of the number, so I deal with someone I trust, but during harvest I count and compare the number I get minus mortality, it's always accurate with what I ordered. Other I times I just stock from my hatchery.

  • @belloadejoh9617
    @belloadejoh9617 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you for your very instructive series. In changing water, do you completely drain the whole water in the tarpaulin before pumping new round of fresh water? Or would it suffice if it is drained halfway? Thank you for your timely response.

    • @gregosuma

      You can drain your water completely, but it has to be done slowly, especially if the fingerlings are still about 4 weeks old and then you refill slowly also.
