These HB's are no one's main, however should be everyone's second. Fill out the sound collection with a pick up type you don't have. Assuming you will have to mod them, then realizing you don't need to, has been my regular experience. That doesn't mean i have not changed PU's in one, string tree's on 2 of them and a nut replacement on another. I got my feet wet with mod's just because it is fun to play guitar tech as well.
The Hound, I'm just really surprised at the quality of guitar that they are able to make and sell for such a cheap price. And you are correct about the pickups. Those Roswell pickups sound so damn good it surprised the hell out of me when I plugged in and there was no quiet hum on the HB Tele I got👍✌
Today I unboxed my first Harley Benton SC 450 Plus VB , I have been searching for 8 hours to find something wrong with it. Out of the box it was in tune except for the D string. Intonation was spot on, lowered the bridge height, and have been playing it on and off for 7 hours. It is still in tune. The fret edges are much better than my Epiphone and so far I haven't found any uneven frets. They seemed a bit "unpolished" at first but are smoothing out really well from being played. I won't say the Roswell pickups are better than my Gibson 490 and 498 however they DO actually sustain longer. I might change out the switch to a real LP switch but it works just fine. The body is nicely finished no binding issues or flaws whatsoever. The neck heel design is very comfortable. I really don't think any guitar can compete with it for less than $500. Time will tell how well built it really is, but for the price, who cares.
Yeah, if you like a decent guitar that might or might not need a little work, then yeah. I dont mind spending $155 for a guitar and then doing a little work to get it to my specs, especially when they play and sound this good.
Sounds like an endorsement :-) Picking up my PRS zebrawood in a few days, pretty jazzed got a 2018 at a 25% discount simply because it was a return. Hopefully there is no reason for said return. Love your videos keep em coming.
I have the same HB and am happy with it. Yes I'm just a strum at home in the bedroom eternal beginner kinda guy....so I can't rationalize buying a resl LP anyhow. I too want to change the tuners....If you do let me know what you go with. I'd like to find something that just drops in with no modifications.
Try the lemon drop it’s great too, and the flame top prs copy also comes with p90s it a great guitar too, but you do have to tech them a bit but for the price you get a whole lot of guitar.
Nice playing! I have the same HB on lemo drop and despite a couple of issues i think is a good guitar (i'm quite sure that monoprice and Harley's came from the same factory). And weights use to vary a lot between units
I just ordered my 1st Harley Benton SC 450 Plus VB Les Paul copy along with a HB ST - 20 H SS CA Fender Texas Strat with Humbucker pickup at the bridge. With cases and shipping total of $350.00. So hopefully will see what I get in a few weeks.
I thought the Harley Benton sounded better. My SC-450 plus vintage's frets are fine. Finish is perfect. Looking at getting a HB knock-off telecaster- $135!
Be cool to perform a memorable gig and smash the guitar. People would be in shock that you'd just smashed a 15 hundred dollar Gibson lespaul.. Oh wait..
Nice review, man!I know they're different kinds of guitar but, in terms of quality, would this be a better option than a yamaha Pacifica 112? Thanks in advance!
@@RichBischoff Thanks. man. I think I'll probably get the Yamaha. I'm not a fanboy of LP or Strat. Just looking for something good for the price and I have read some reviews saying this Harley Benton is kind of a lottery and you can be lucky or not. So I think the Yamaha will be a "saver"option
I just noticed on the coil split review you did not switch the bridge coil split switch, or am I wrong ? cause I thought the guitar has 2 volume pots with coil splits. I'm onto this guitar tho, great review
@@RichBischoff I wasn't implying you couldn't. I cant but there are ALOT of great alternatives. Top shelf epiphones are the business! If I could play like you, I could justify the $700 or $800 on an epiphone custom classic pro!
Huuhh what a very nice singing Girl, she is making Music with her old Grandfather. She seems to be a very nice girl and I think it's good that she's not ashamed of her grandfather. He is also very fit for his age. He also makes a very good figure on the Flying V and looks like 40. Very nice greetings from Germany; -) The Harley Benton it's making a very great Sound for this Money. The Question is, how is the Neck, Is he pretty thin or fat?
Guys save like 2000 then go to the best music shop around you and for this money buy the best guitar for your hands, they will be nicely made and professionally done and it will serve you for years well , the other Chinese guitars are bad choice and so bad quality, the neck, the tuners, pickups, knobs, frets, its just to much to upgrade, for a piece of shit...

Got this guitar last year. Has been my main guitar this year and have done 40 odd gigs. All stock. £139!
Tony Harley That's freaking great!

is that still work
I'd love to hear an update after two years if possible, I found out about this guitar today and I'm hearing many good things about it.
Just goes to show.....it's not the name on the head stock, but the person playing the guitar.
Exactly
It sounds fantastic to me. Love it.
Great sound!!! I have a sc custom! Lefty!.. If you want watch my HB SC custom!
I love mine....and ive had a les paul 79.....my sc 450 is a sweet dang guitar....been playing guitar 43 years sooooooo......get you one man!!.
PS....and the headstock doesnt suck peweew like that ugly ugly epi one..lol!
Spicy riffs to open the vid. HB's I am on the fence I hear good things and bad things. Fun to mod out I guess eh? Thanks for the look see. Be Well

I have one. They are insane for the price. Owned a lot of Gibsons.

So... and now, after a year has passed... what is your conclusion?
What did you get for the 350 bucks you spent? Any regrets?
is that still working perfectly?

did I hear sweet child o mine at the end?????
Good straight demo vid..lijed yoyr natural flow..cool..😎

Cort CR250 OR Harley Benton 450 PLUS CB?
Great LP sound!
Nice review, man!I know they're different kinds of guitar but, in terms of quality, would this be a better option than a yamaha Pacifica 112? Thanks in advance!
I think the Yamaha is probably a better quality guitar, to be honest. But, this is still a good guitar.

Angel Gilsanz agreed.
What pedal are you using?
The RAT clone in line 6 helix.
Thanks

Bout to replace my yamaha pacifica with this. Can i remove the pickguard off the guitar ?
ABGuitarist Yes I believe so.
Hey Rich you have a German Name Richard Bischoff.
Yes I do. my ancestors are from Germany and Switzerland.
@@RichBischoff Cool!
How are the tuners in this Harley Benton guitar? Do that stay in tune well?
KnightsGamingRealm Yes
@@RichBischoff Hi, thank you very much for the reply. I'm going to get this Harley Benton as my first electric. Is it a good idea?
KnightsGamingRealm Yes, I think its a good first electric. I think you'll dig it.
@@RichBischoff One more question. Is this guitar noisy? Because I heard that it's electronics aren't shielded.
KnightsGamingRealm I have not noticed it being noisy.
how hunky is the neck?
Medium chunky
cool video dood
Is the scratch plate removeable
Joe yes
@@RichBischoff in that case I'm buying it. I hate the look of Les Pauls with scratch plates because it ruins the finish with some plastic rubbish

Очень интересно.какая у вас педаль, что это

The Question is, how is the Neck, Is he pretty thin or fat?
I assume your joking and not just being and ahole. The neck is fat.
Sorry man, poor contest!
Which one do you think is better? The Harley Benton or the Route 66 by monoprice

No need to spend 2000. You can get similar sound for a fourth of that price.
I have 3 myself, the sc custom, the sc 550 and a flying v. Stock and i have 3 good guitars for less than 600€. I am a happy guy!!
What's up with the hum?
Does it have a volute?
