    I've got a SC450 plus , 50s wiring , Sperzel locking tuners , gotoh bridge , faber tailpiece, vitamin q caps , new pots . It shits on any Gibson apart from original 59s .

      It's embarrassing...but I used to sell Gibson's. Some were quite good but others were crap in terms of weight, playability and consistency of quality. Back in the day, our guitar luthier used to get two types of guitars: Fender for a pickup upgrade or a Gibson with a broken head stock.

    You can fix that fretboard dent with a small damp rag and an iron. Put a corner of the rag on the dent, apply the iron, and the steam should lift the dent out. You may have to sand it a bit to level it out, and re-oil it, but the dent should be gone, or at least a lot better.

    I am ordering one of these very soon. I have the XT-22 in black cherry, and I love it. I am a big fan of these guitars, and especially the Roswell pickups. They are great!

      They are definitely very well manufactured. Nice guitars that don't bankrupt you. Enjoy!

    with this model many people fix the tune and volume by soldering the cable the other way around, this seems to be a factory defects for all the 4 knobs Single cut models by Harley Benton

      @@paperbagaudio5450 You in Aus? Why haven't you tried Artist guitars?

    • @paperbagaudio5450
      @paperbagaudio5450  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@650thunderbird Artist guitars (then) didn't have the range and colours I wanted. Also, their prices were higher than at Thomann. I have around 30 guitars. I have enough. However, if you want an all-valve blues beast, the Artist Tweed Tone 20R is really good. Great sound and extremely loud. I had one a couple of years ago. My biggest dislike about these single cuts is their weight. My SC-550 Paradise weighs a ton! Even heavier than my Les Paul.

    • @paperbagaudio5450
      @paperbagaudio5450  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it's a heavy beast for sure. I bought it for the sound and it looks good on my wall. I couldn't play a gig with it though.

  • @tmcorey1
    @tmcorey1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Just received this guitar and it is excellent, (but it does weigh quite a bit, 8.9lbs). However it plays and sounds so good, I don't care.

    • @sarahb8101
      @sarahb8101 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      tmcorey1 how thick is the neck on this? I have pretty small hands so do you think I should still get it or go for an Ibanez

    • @tmcorey1
      @tmcorey1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sarah b I would go with the ibanez. It’s pretty chunky and would be thick for small hands.

    I got the same guitar some years ago. I did some mods: put Tonerider AC2 pickups in it, dismount the scratchplate, change the knobs for silver dome style knobs. I love the sound and playability yet I play more my superstrat style guitars, cause I love thinner and flatter necks.

      Hi BFHPET. That song is called "Jungle Rock". I wrote and recorded it (C) many years ago but it was missing the guitar. I have a whole library of unfinished instrumentals. It seemed to be perfect for this guitar so I ran the Harley Benton through the Mercuriall SS-11X plug-in for clean sounds and the Mercuriall Spark for the overdriven sounds. If I remember correctly, I used the single coil mode in the neck pickup for the clean sounds.
