Your reviews are SECOND TO NONE. Thank You!!
As to the Canopus drums, I’ve always said I would NEVER spend more than $650 USD for ANY snare drum. Not only because there are sooo many great drums at $650 (and far less), but also because in a BLIND LISTENING TEST, NONE of us…..not even the most skilled pros…..would be able to tell a consistent difference between $650 drums and similar material $1,650 drums! GUARANTEED!!
Please keep those wonderful reviews coming. We count on them for detailed information!!!

Both sound great. 14x6.5 would be my choice. 👍

This review missed MANY details. The lugs on the 1ply soft maple are nickel over solid brass, I'm surprised there was no mention of this as this is signature to Canopus that is not 'generic' or 'cheap' as the video states (actually more expensive than typical zinc). I wish the video talked more how Canopus cuts their snare bed, makes their own wires, bolt tight tension rods, or the choice the choice of 8 lugs...a huge part why Canopus is making great snares. The shell comes out of Crotia from partnering with Antonio drums...again no mention and picking 'soft maple' to sound more vintage than the higher pitched modern 1 ply.

Sorry I would not buy one of these snare drums ( hate the ring after striking, which means you have to resort to dampening, and here are snare drums out there much cheaper than these, [ very over rated ]
