If I ever got a gold ring, I would love one made out of a genuine gold coin. Such a neat idea, especially for a coin collector and enthusiast. Same with silver too, awesome!
For a one ounce gold coin, it's a couple grand. It would be a cool ring, but it's not something I'd risk doing myself. Silver one ounce coins are about $40. That I could see giving a try.

It’s for fun. Plus gold eagles arent 24k like the Gold buffalos ( I have a Buffalo) so they’re more durable

No it is completely fixable. That is why it is important to check often in order to catch a crack early. As soon as you see one forming, just sand or file it until gone and then continue.
Are you aware that the famous Aussie poem 'the man from snowy river' is in text in the background of the note. With good eyes you can just read it but with a magnifying glass much easier.

yes, BUT. if you break it in half, it's still worth $1500. coins typically sell for a flat fee + spot rate (current value of gold at that second) the most you'll ever loose is the flat rate.

I made my wife a silver quarter ring all by hand tapping/hitting it with the concave side of a spoon. Made the center hole with a pocket knife..

What do you do with the "holes"? ( I imagine one drilled for a few precious stones, then mounted atop a coin ring.)
I take them to the refinery and trade it out for pure. Then I alloy it to all different things for other jewelry projects.

Not normally. They tend to screw them up pretty bad. Send it back to who you got it from for resizing.
