    I purchased my 15 hellcat with 24k miles and purchased extended warranty as well. First thing that went on my hellcat was the supercharger got replaced at 43k miles. Next thing that went was the radiator busted and it got replaced as well. Then the heat thing that transfers each heat or cold air in either side got that fixed as well. And last thing that got replaced was a fuel pump al covered under warranty. So far after all that has been replaced haven’t had anymore issues with my car and it has 83k miles on it

    Hellcat owner here.
    2016 model year.
    64,000 miles currently and everything that has been done on the car
    Fuel rail Replaced
    Fuel rail Sensor
    Both Fuel pumps replaced
    Injector O rings replaced
    Clutch and throw out bearing went out at 60,000 miles
    Spark plugs were changed at 63,000 miles.
    I had extended warranty and honestly it paid off but It still sucks.
    And right now it's currently at the dealership for a potential drivetrain issue, that or a cv joint.
    It started vibrating on acceleration.
    I came from a scat pack and had way less issues than the hellcat.

    The allure of a Hellcat is the hoonigan nature and supercharger whine. I originally ordered the lime green but they couldn't get the matte hood. Hindsight I could have wrapped it.
    The ZL1 is a much better performance car but something about that truly retro Chally wins the curb appeal.
    I wouldn't dare buy a used Hellcat... they've all been beat TH up

    Don't forget to mention a Garage and Keeping these cars Properly maintained including Clean and Detailed will also Save you Money in the end. I also purchased a 7year Low Miles Service contract because this is my Play Vehicle not a Daily Driver.
    Work at a Dealership so I've seen repair costs Skyrocket!
    Also Do Not Finance your Warranty if you are putting money down, pay for the Warranty if possible.
    This whole video is great information but you can make a Difference in your reliability by keeping on top of maintenance and repairs, soon as you let things go you might as well Sell or Trade the car off!
    Not Every Dodge Challenger has all these issues either, but keep an eye open for whats reported and make your decisions if you actually do strt to see these issues!

      I am just asked because i neber heard of this issue before but why shouldn't i finance my warranty?

    • @dtracy03ss
      @dtracy03ss 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @TheBigmobe because if you are financing for the length of the loan , it may run out before you're done paying the Loan off. There are plans to pay for the service contract over 18 months at 0.0% interest on a debit or credit card, so two things, you will have the chance to earn points or miles and save the loan interest.
      All while the Contract is still in effect after being paid off. Saving interest is the Biggest advantage.

Change my sparkplugs at 25k-30k with colder plugs, newer jlt cai, rear diff amsoil, amsoil oil changes, etc.etc.etc,,,next up is trans service soon,,,,I do all maintenance b4 intervals 💯🎯it's not my daily , but it's still going strong from 2020🎯💯🫡

  • @JZ_Cars
    @JZ_Cars 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I typically agree with most of what you say and review. However, I am not certain I agree with the notion this platform is too expensive to maintain without a warranty. The driveline is pretty well sorted and reliable. I remember going to a Thrill Ride down in West Palm one year at Barrett Jackson and being awestruck that they were absolutely BEATING on these cars lap after lap and required NO COOLDOWN. The guy there said they only stop them to replace tires. However, right next door, the BMW folks had to rest their cars a bit and we had to wait to ride in the turbocharged bimmer. That told me all I needed to know. Now, are there places where Dodge skimped on quality? Sure! The interior has some cheap bits, like the minivan turn signal. The paint is probably not the best, however, those things can definitely be overlooked when you start up that Fire Breathing Hemi! I am sure that at 75-100K mileage, an example that has been beat on and not well maintained might be a bit expensive to go through. But one that has been cared for would be fairly easy to live with. I tend to believe there are many out there, despite the car’s obvious image and street takeover tendency. There are a lot of responsible owners out there for all the knuckleheads that also drive them. I think these cars are fairly reliable for what they are. Granted, it’s not a Lexus, but nothing else out there really is either.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  20 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yea my friend the problem with the used car market is finding a well maintained car. The track day event cars are always perfectly maintained for the public but used there are a lot of people who can't afford or know what car maintenance is so it's such a risk. But yea def impressive what these cars can do when they are properly cared for this is quite a motor

    • @JZ_Cars
      @JZ_Cars 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I hear you! The main thing I look at is that there are a lot of older fellas who got into these. Myself included. But even an older dude can probably beat their car down. I just think we are less prone to vs the young cats who, like you mentioned, don’t know how to maintain a car. I think you are spot on about the warranty. Any time someone is buying a car with a lot of performance, I think it is wise to make sure you have the warranty. The parts typically under more stress and thus prone to break. Reminds me, I need to get an extended warranty on my car soon.

  • @SL-vi4tk

    Fantastic presentation on the Challenger Hellcat. For a new 2023 707hp Hellcat - with conservative, careful driving, would you be more optimistic on the long term reliability? I plan on taking very good care of it, driving only about 1,200 miles annually. Thank you.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea I think so my friend buying one new and taking care of it will be your best bet at a max reliable Hellcat especially when driving low miles like that

      @SL-vi4tk ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MeynMotorGroup Thank you. The front loaded car loan information was very enlightening. Like a mortgage, the first few years are mostly interest. When financing, you need to hold on to the car.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SL-vi4tk yea I really wish more journalists would mention that regarding car buying this is the biggest issue with used cars as there are no incentives, warranty costs are high, higher interest rates, and the problem compounds when knowing how banks front load that interest. In this high interest environment, most are better off leasing or financing a new car with a discount.

    I am a BIG fan of the Hellcat. I had a very fun and loud 392 Charger with the Daytona package.. it was the closest thing I could afford to a Hellcat, same body, different engine.. after dealing with electrical issues that had no end in sight, I bought I gently used BMW and haven’t looked back. As always, everyone’s experience is different, shop wisely and MAINTAIN YOUR VEHICLE for peace of mind. If you cannot afford extra money on tires and other items… stay away. A wide body adds no value to the car it's still 717 horse power at the end of the day 8,000 dollars for fender flares and 305s. That's not the primary point that was made.
      The make or model is irrelevant it's the way interest is designed on an auto loan that I said was dangerous.
      All the interest is front loaded on a car finance so a person taking a loan out for 60-72 months like most people, will have next to no equity built up in the first 3 years because most of their payments are going towards interest and very little to principle.
      Yes this problem compounds when you buy luxury cars since they depreciate harder but even if you buy an eco turd, hellcat, ferrari, porsche, this is still a dangerous trap that pretty much everyone falls for.

    Whos going to want to pay 60k for a used 5 year old Hellcat? With miles on it and no warranty? No thanks

    • @MeynMotorGroup

      You would be surprised my friend this is how most people buy vehicles in the U.S. with miles and no warranty to save a negligible amount of money which they end up paying anyway through interest. Thought of a new car doesn’t even cross their mind.
      Kind of like how people drive 30 miles to save 2 cents on gas or how people choose to rent an apartment 100 miles away from where they work to save $10 a month on rent when they were better off renting in the nicer area.

    • @garybishop4030
      @garybishop4030 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Negligible is right. I'd take the 60k and buy something new

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@garybishop4030 I would say a good 9/10 people are incapable of seeing that and understanding a seemingly simple concept like just getting a new car instead of overpaying for a used one.
      I suppose it’s because so many make poor financial decisions that this economy is able to function and so many little industries can exist? Idk but credit cards paint the perfect example on where the average person’s head is when it comes to finances and in general priorities.

    LOL! These Stellantis vehicles are the official street takeover cars. In all the videos they are driven by African-Americans doing power-slides around the intersection. It all looks like fun but wonder what all that abuse is doing to the cars.
