Got my floatplane rating in 1969 at lafayette Louisiana. The first time I splashed down, I laughed out loud. Fornet air service, home of the P-38 Scatterbrain Kid. It was fresh and ready for a test flight. My Dad has been keeping tabs on it as it was being made ready. He was flying for Standard Oil and he usually arrived in a Lockheed PV. A B-34. A beautiful airplane with R2800's. Paul or Tom, I don't remember which, asked if he would do the test flights. He said yes, of course, adding that he had a son that needed a seaplane rating. My friend from high school and I flew down in a T-6. Ken Richter took me with him on his daily seaplane route to offshore rigs, etc. I repaid the favor by riding the back seat of the T-6 while Ken got familiar with it. A good time was had by all. On the way back to Tulsa I put my high school friend, David Lewis in the front seat of the T-6. Everybody wins.
Nice landing on glassy lake. I took license on seaplan here in the montains in norway. Like the setup right speed and sink on around 150 to 200 feet pr min. . Nice nature ther in your lake. Nice video boys enjoy.😊
You can find used home built SeaReys for 40-70k USD. Pretty much any decent general aviation bird these days is six figures. This includes the newer SeaReys, yes. Unfortunate reality. Still less expensive and a better airplane than an Icon 😁
Must've been busy this week or working on something else....thanks for the video...I always feel empty when tail heavy Saturday drop is an older video or super short....lmao I literally look forward to the vid drop....other rc channels are changing and u can tell the opinion is bought out....thanks for the video guys even if it was short...was still nice e perspective
Thanks for the ride Zack, but I was sure you were going to do a 1 wheel high speed taxi. LOL. Great flight. Your plane seems better in the water than the Icon A5.
Nope - they’re unofficially called “idiot” ribbons to prevent you from walking into the fly wires on the ground. Kinda like an idiot light on your car dash. 😁
I was not expecting amazing fullscale footage.
Look up red devil squadron.
Keeping it outside of the box
Nice switch up from RC, hope your having a good time in WA!
So glad your doing some general aviation stuff! I love the sea Ray and hope to have one some day! Great video!
Thanks for splashing it on for us!

Awesome video! Love that part of Washington. I grew up in both Monroe and Sultan (10-20min east down the highway from lake Isabel)
Was expecting another great RC video, expectations exceeded! Wow!
Just a few miles south of my house. Beautiful flight and place to explore
Tail Heavy Productions is just absolutely killing it ... awesome

OK, I'll bite. What's with all the ribbons hanging on your sweet airplane? Beautiful videography by the way.

What are the rules for attaching GoPros to the outside of your plane? I’ve been thinking of doing it to a Cherokee.
It’s different for home built vs part 23 so can’t give you a legit answer there.
That lake looks amazing! Every week I wait for these Saturday uploads keep it up these vids are awesome!!
Hey Zach, I think there is a trail that goes all the way up to hike on. Ive been most of the way up it on dirtbike many moons ago.
Nice! Our current info came straight from the Washington Trails Association website as well as info from friends who have tried hiking it. 👍
Which aircraft is this ?
Im just ready for the vid I’m sitting with a drink and a snack ready to enjoy the video!

Yep! We used FS2020 for some of the local area shots at the beginning of the video. 👍
i think I was drunk when I typed that.
What's up with all the ribbons? Aren't they supposed to be 'removed before flight'?
Nope - they’re unofficially called “idiot” ribbons to prevent you from walking into the fly wires on the ground. Kinda like an idiot light on your car dash. 😁
@@TailHeavyProductions I am literally speechless and not surprised at all at the same time.
