Love the over the shoulder toss, LOL! Helpful review, thanks. I have put off buying a gravity filter like this and after hearing about the Berkey price increases, I started researching. I just received my ProONE a few days ago and it looks almost the same as this. I also liked that the filters are made in the US and that the spigot is stainless steel without having to buy it as an a la cart option. I saved by buying a factory mis-sized one in their outlet and I am very happy with the quality, though I would prefer a brushed finish like yours, (but not enough to pay full price)!
Thank you! Well done, well edited video; Bless you for speeding through the unwrapping!🙂 I appreciate that you mentioned the drip rate...key information that is absent in other review videos.
Terrific presentation, I really like the ease of assembly and the fact that no priming is necessary. I have one I bought a couple of years ago for emergency. Well, the emergency is current as I bought a meter that measures water purity and I found put we've been drinking horrible water. I'm taking it out of storage and putting it to work. Thanks for your easy step by step instructions. Belated HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Great review. Receiving mine this Friday. Excited to cut down on bottled water, using significantly more from the tap. Our city water is relatively clean but certainly not "pure" ;). Cheers
My Patriot Supply's customer service is stellar, compared to tbe last water filtration company I used which had major spigot and filter problems. I highly recommend this product and the company!
They are both great units! I have both now and I would trust my life to either one. I will be doing a video soon comparing the two. Also, the filters are interchangeable. You can put AlexaPure filters in the Berkey and Berkey filters in the AlexaPure!
Amount of water filtered (flow rate) rarely meets manufacturer's specs. Measured under ideal conditions: new filter, relatively clean water to start with and constantly topped off. It would be interesting to see production and quality at yearly intervals or each thousand gallons produced.
Had a Berkey for 10 years and cleaning sides flow rate didn’t change much continues to be good but that’s how good your pipes and water is . Bought 1 filter only today Alexapure to put in my Berkey container . For one person that will give me 1 gallon every few hours . If someone wants fast flow to store in another container they can put a tire valve where the lid handle and put 5 psi of pressure to speed up the flow . Or do a hookup like Aqua brick with a hand pump .
Great video. I’m going off grid to west Africa. Trying to add something like this to my grayl as a water solution. What do you think about this for off grid international travel ?
I read that Berkey is in trouble for making claims not backed up by laboratory testing and they also have not proven that their product will safety filter 3,000 gallons of water. I bought an Aquapure. I hope it is thoroughly tested.
It is true that Berkey is currently fightinga few battles, but be careful about where you are getting your info. A trusted source is important! With that being said, I also love Alexapure. It is a great filter. I hope you enjoy yours 😀
have been using my Alexapure for quite a few months... I noticed in the top there is about 4-5 inches of water that doesn't filter down into the bottom... Alexapure said this is supposed to be like that.. Has everyone noticed that ????
Hi Joylaine! Yes, the water in the very bottom cannot reach the filter since it is below the filter line. I haven't had any problems with it, I just keep filling it up and letting it do its thing :-) Thanks for the question!
Hi Elizabeth, it basically does. The filters are in the dirty water chamber. The Alexapure has a second chamber underneath to hold the filtered water. So the dirty water saturates and fills the filters in the top chamber and the clean water drips down into the clean chamber underneath. It is a gravity system :-) Thanks for the comment!
Yes but how does the water in the top tank go through the system of the filter? The water in my kettle was looking very calcified so it wasn't really filtering that. We've decided to put the filters outside the water tank so they're hanging down underneath the top tank. I'm hoping this might work better?
I called Alexapure and they said it would be best to not use softened water, it will tend to clog the filter prematurely. We have a water softener for our home but when I plumbed it in the cold water to the kitchen does not go thru the softener. I called Alexapure on a Saturday evening at 8pm and they answered my call. How happy I was to see that! That is customer service!
If it is leaking in the middle, then you have it too full. You can always drain some of your filtered water into a water pitcher and store it in the fridge :-)
Just got ours today & same thing it leaked all over the kitchen..... Do you let the bottom half fill up totally then the top only half way? Our leaks from the middle as well.... Also, have you tested the clean water to find out if its as great as the company claims? The clean water is only room temperature & can't get cold clean water from it. I hope we can fix the leaking, thanks for this video!😁
Hi BNW, the flow rate is about 1.85 gph (gallons per hour) and the reservoir is 2.25 gallons, so yes, it should take about an hour and a half to two hours. Thanks for the question!
@@amypreps6030 It was abit late still have a few bottle Waters left but I'm going to prime the system any minute, so done with buying bottled water this is going to be perfect

How does the water go through the filter?
This was so helpful. Thank you! Setup is always the most frustrating part of buying something like this - and you made it so logical and simple! ❤

You are a great presenter!
I appreciate that! Thanks!
I left that blue plastic on also. Hopefully it doesn't hurt anything because I'm not taking it all apart unless it's absolutely necessary.
Ha! It should be fine. I left mine on until I decided to take it apart and clean everything a few months later ;-)

Wow! I wish I knew about this before buying a Berkey! And this one doesn’t require a separate filter for fluoride.

Hello, what would the shelf life of the filter be?
I don't think there is one, as far as I have read :-)
Does this one only come in the one size? Thanks.
Yes, Alexapure currently offers only one size. Thx!

Nice system except for the cheap plugs, which I would not trust to loosen up.Why would the go cheap on this ?
Nice system for sure! I have not had any issues with the plugs so far. Thanks for the comment!
Hi! Would you mind telling me if the top and bottom of the filter are made of rubber or of plastic? Thank you very much!
It's a hard plastic.

Sure! The only water that cannot be filtered through this unit is salt water

Imagine thinking that holding the filter by the screw is a good idea? Would’ve been funny if it snapped off.
Funny!?? oh heck no! But thanks for the comment ;-)
Shame on you for misgendering your water filter! 😂
Right?! Silly me!
It’s not a pronouns she/her filter is it?
Ha! Yes :-)
