  • This P-17 now a test gun for Storehouse rings. All rings replaced with Storehouse.
    Within Storehouse brand standards:
▶️Metric 116 for Pump head seal
    ▶️008 SAE for breech seal
▶️Metric 008 for bottom valve seal
▶️005 SAE for valve top seal (tiny guy)
On ammo, JSB RS blowing away others giving accuracy I was not sure P-17 had in it. Some don't like pointed pellets, but they have proven themselves at closer ranges - devastating hunting hits and accuracy.
    Excite Spikes (880)
    Excite Coppa Spitz (753, M-4)
    JSB RS (P-17, 753, M-4)
    Beeman Pointed (P-17, 880)
All have proven themselves. Stratons by far best in P-17.

Thanks for this, I found your TH-cam channel after I bought my 880, and now I have a p17 on the way. Thanks for the guides on repairs for these guns!

      Well thank you!
As I say to the better minds out there like you, if everyone was your high quality, I would work to make this my paying job! Full time.
I started this channel because other folks were either selling marked up parts for their 880 help, or weren't quite there as far as helping shooters repair correctly.
Others had O ring videos that didn't talk about Nitrile material. Too wishy washy with lube recommendations. 30 SAE ND, compressor oil, OR 100% silicone that is airgun grade (5000 CST) are your basic choices. Magnum Airpower is a better choice over Pellgun oil - Bill having great manifesto I highlight in my Pellgun video.
There was NO serious help fixing Ryders which has been the biggest DRAGON to slay for this channel. Fun gun - but very emotional for old and young shooters alike - but I got it done with individual videos for the 5 JAMS the RR can suffer. I bagged a rat with mine.
But I do give credit. For the P-17 I credit my local gunshop and Pyramyd Air with guest airgun smiths like Bravo45.

Henry, thanks for positive support. Next up is the trigger video. Without that, ring replacement in the valve impossible.
On operating P-17, I find it a touch hard to close up, but I'm getting used to it.
Henry, just basic questions for you, and you get the last word, how many shots have you got on your P-17? Any gripes?

@@daisy880fanaticfixit9 I have about 800 shots thru it. I am happy with my p-17 the sights could be a bit better but at the price point, they are good. You said in the video about not close the slide by pushing on the sights. Also, don't have your hand cupped so you don't pinch your skin. You only do that one time and you will learn, I did LOL.

The P17 is a chinese license product of the original German P3, named HW 40 in Europe. I believe spare parts and o rings are more readily available for the P3 and should be fitting the P17 exactly, in case there is an interest for them.

Nice info....do you know if the screw in front of the piston (hex) needs to be tight????

Abel, yes, loose means NO tension to hold part in place. Just don't wrench it,, or strip it, or thread lock it.
It doesn't need to be removed for take apart; just loosen. It is also small and could get lost, so don't take it out. Snug when the gun is together.
