$10,000 to $12,500 a month is a ridiculous example. You can live in Paris or Switzerland with that monthly income. The average American social security is $1,800 a month.

We do not advise anyone to retire abroad solely on American social security...

For digital nomads, yes. They must find another reason to stay or leave for 3 months before reapplying.

If you are planning to live in Croatia, you are expected to learn the Croatian language and integrate in the local culture. As a Croat I am fine with speaking English to tourists, but to immigrants I will speak Croatian only.

"If you are planning to live in Croatia, you are expected to learn the Croatian language " We agree with you :) However, let's remember that Croatian is not the easiest language and it takes time.

    • @Contagious93812

@@the_expat Croatian is the easiest Slavic language. Everything is pronounced as it's written. Russian and Polish are much harder.
There are even harder languages such as Finnish, Hungarian, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese etc. I would even argue that French is more difficult than Croatian because of pronunciation. I know people who learned freakin Arabic from scratch. Arabic can't even be compared to Croatian how difficult it is.
The reason why immigrants don't know Croatian is because they don't care to learn it.

I think that migrants with lots of money are firstly welcome, but when they purchase houses and prices for housings and rent will rise, so that the Croats themselfes will suffer (as they already do), things will turn. Just look at Portugal, Spain / Mallorca / Barcelona, where their own citizens are fed up with too many "rich" migrants that make living there too expensive for their own people. If you love this country, leave it alone!!!

Shut it dude, nobody have to buy house 10 feet by the sea🙄🤔.The video is about expats🤨. So anybody can buy house inland, 10 X cheaper with some land around the house and with car you can even from capital Zagreb to coast line arrive in few hours.Right?🤔 Croatia isn't just coastline.Lika region is almost empty and even closer to the Adriatic coastline.
