my uncle would be 64 if he was still here with us today. his bday was yesterday. he died 9/8/11. four days after he turned 63. so saturday im going to have a beer for him. he fought in the frountline inf. in Vietnam. he held 3 purple hearts. my hero.
i am 15 i was looking for a song to sing for my school talent show and was looking at private malone when i saw this song and i decided to look at this and 56 seconds into this song i started to cry. My brother is 29 and he has been serving the past 11 years (12 in 2 months) he has been shipped out 4 times and mutiple other small times and this song just made me think about how lucky i am to still have him to every one who has lost someone who has served i am so sorry and i thank you and them for all that they have done
This takes me back. I don't think I'll ever forget the way it felt to watch the man I loved get on that plane heading to hell in the sand. I was blessed as he came home every time. But that empty feeling in your stomach never leaves till they hit US soil again. To all those whose loved ones are still deployed you remain in my thoughts and prayers.
My boyfriend used to sing this to me while we were driving around town. He used to change the name from "Amy" to "Katie". I would tear up a little and look over to him and smile because he was next to me and that's all I needed. Now he's stationed in Hawaii and doesn't know how long he'll be there. Everyday I pray that the next time I see him will be soon. I am thankful he is not deployed. My heart goes out to all the other girlfriends who's boyfriends are deployed. Thank you to our troops.
My first love and my bestfriend is serving our country, hes coming home in 2 days and im so excited. This song reminds me of everything he told me the day he left.. He leaves over seas again in janurary and im scared to death to let him go... praying for each and everyone one of you that has a loved one coming home for the holiday but leaving again and hoping everyone is safe out there
There are so many reasons why you can be proud: Good soldiers are heros!!!!! Support our troops!!!!! I'm proud of you! GOD BLESS AMERICA AND ALL THE HEROES!!!!!!!!!!!!
First heard this song a week or two before I shipped out to Afghanistan for the first time. First thing I did was to make sure and send it to all of my friends back home, because it describes almost exactly what I want to happen, should I ever not make it back. End up in tears every single time that I hear this song. Great job Tracy.
This one actually succeeded in making me cry. I never thought it was going to happen, figured I wouldn't let my fears get to me, but this one finally did.
My brother has been serving in the military for three years and he is in Iraq for deployment and when I saw this song I started to cry because all i want is for him to make it back
Wow.. This song really hits home right now.. My brother and my boyfriend is in the U.S Army.. They are getting deployed in January and my boyfriend just told me to listen to this song and that this song is exactly what he would want to happen if something happens to him.. To not cry over him and make sure I find me a good guy.. I told him not to even think about that Because NOTHING is going to happen to him.. Please Pray for both of them that god keeps them safe while they are deployed!
Death has never scared me. I know I'll be scared in my final moment, but the thought of dying doesn't scare me. The only thing about dying that worries me is if I don't do something worthwhile with my life.
"Well, Miller Lite ain't my brand But I drink one every now and then, in his honour And we ain't missed a home game yet Had that Camero at 110 on Red Rock Road When the speakers blowed And I introduced Amy to a friend of mine from Monroe He's a good ol' boy But you know, she just ain't ready" The minute you lose it when hearing this song for the first time.
I don't even get that far into the song before I lose it. "If the Good Lord calls me home I'd like to think my friends would think about me when I'm gone" That's usually where I lose it, and I have heard this song many times.
Sitting on my deck watching these videos. July 4th tomorrow. Humbled and thankful to all those men greater than I that sacrificed so that I could live the dream here in the good ol' USA.
I love my vets and i love what they allow me to do everyday. A few friends from high school had joined the air force right out of high school and are safe in japan, but i thank all the vets i come across. I wasnt allowed to serve myself due to asthma but i always wished to be a marine. My biggest pet peeve is to see some nice comments supporting our troops and than some jerk commenting negative things. Its just the worst. Thanks again to all the vets that keep me and my family safe! Hoorah!
My brother's bestfriend, the love of my life, leaves for basic training on 09/28 we played this song at his going away party. God bless the USA💕 Ti Amo Brandon💞
Matt, your comment touched my heart and made me cry. Thank you for having such a patriotic heart. most of the boys in my sons very small graduating class joined the Marines after graduation including my son, except 1, The one was turned down for every branch of service because of a sever leg injury playing high school football. It broke that young mans heart to see his buddies all leave one right after another. Please just continue to pray like he does and be there to help them when they return.
It never fails, every single time I listen to this song waterworks start. This is real for so many, too many. My heart goes out to those who this happens to.
This song just pulls at my heart. While it makes me feel for all those who have lost a soldier, it also makes me want to live life to the fullest, spend more time with my best friends, and find another brotherhood like the military. hell of a song!
i was in the army and the night before I left to be deployed i asked my friends several of these questions. luckily I came home unlike many of my fellow brothers in arms rip boys you are greatly missed and forever hold a spot in my heart
First, I would like to thank you for all that you have done for all of us! Secondly, I lost my son in Iraq in 2005. He felt the same way you do! And lastly, GOD BLESS our troops and THANK YOU for all of the sacrifices you make! Hoo-Rah!!!!!
Born and raised in a Marine Corps family as well as my dad being a former airman, and being formerly engaged to an airman. I'm incredibly patriotic and have gotten into more than one confrontation defending those who serve. My best friend also believes in our military like I do and when I showed him this video we were both crying buckets. Because of certain things I can't serve, but you bet your ass I would lay my life down for theirs in a heartbeat. For those who have served USMC, Semper Fi. And for the rest, thank you so much for your sacrifices!
My youngest brother leaves in the fall for deployment to South Korea. I hope to never have to live this song out. He makes me more proud than he could ever know. Thank God for our U.S military
Because some people just don't get it - what it's like to be connected in some way with someone who puts their life at risk every day.....whether it be military, first responders or law enforcement.
never personally served but my granddaddy did in Vietnam and he was a combat medic the war stories he told me about that time and what our men and women go through over seas or even here at home is hell. i could not imagine i was gonna join the marines but went blind in my right eye and couldnt join
Barely making it through the whole song only to cry at the last line, Tracy Lawrence will forever be my favourite singer, his voice is amazing and he really makes you feel the emotion behind each song.
It's the day💕 I get to see you. 72 days I've waited to see you. 72 days I've waited to hug you. 72 days since I've seen you. We played this an letters from home I love you Uncle Curtis ❤💕
This it's the most tear jerking song I ever heard . And probably will. Touched me something deep. Airforce vet . Ran a few flights that where guns and donated blood bags . Picked up the brave that gave all and headed home . Sick sight to see . Even the brave that that were wounded . Those flights haunt me from time to time .
I watched Tracy in concert last night and he did this song. I have seen him before but this is the first time I saw this song live. It tore me up. I had tears in my eyes standing there among thousand of fans.

I just wanted to say thank you to all the soldiers sacrificing there lives to defend the freedom that soo many people do not appreciate. I am a highschool student in Texas and when we do the pledge, i see so many people talking and walking around and that really upsets me. Its people like yall that give me faith in the country. Thank all you soldiers for your service. I will join you in a couple years to aid the fight. God bless yall and God bless America. Stay safe and true!
This song holds so many truths for so many families. My daughter will be graduating Navy boot camp this Friday and even though I put on a brave face I find myself worried on the inside. I know she will be just fine though.

Blessings to all that have served and or serving. Especially a special prayer for the ones and their families that did not make it home. I don't understand why I have never heard this song before now. I admit I am an older country fan, but I do not understand why they play what they do on radio today and miss such an artist like Tracy Lawrence.

It's hard to listen to this song without chills going throughout your body. Such a great song. I honestly don't understand how 44 folks disliked it.
Because some people just don't get it - what it's like to be connected in some way with someone who puts their life at risk every day.....whether it be military, first responders or law enforcement.
amen.. it causes this man to shed a tear for sure

Hope people are still listening here in 2019. And a heartfelt thanks to all our men and women in uniform!
