CUSTOM WEATHERED HORNBY CLASS 91 & CLASS 60: The Speedster & The Mountain Mover

- Whats more dramatic, an Intercity class 91 at 125mph or a mighty Class 60 at full power hauling a long rake of creaking and groaning stone tipplers?
In the electric corner is @HornbyModelRailways 91002 "Durham Cathedral" whizzing through Neville Grove in both "push" and "pull" modes with a matching rake of Mk4 coaches and DVT. This loco has been specially weathered for Hornby to feature as their advent giveaway prize on December 12th 2022. In the heavy diesel corner is Hornby Class 60015 "Bow Fell" at the head of empty @accurascaleuk1427 ARC stone tipplers. The loco and wagons were also completed recently in the Neville Grove weathering studio for the impressive De Haviland TMD model railway. In conjunction with Fox Transfers we designed a unique, but appropriate depot plaque of a De Haviland Mosquito aircraft.
Great to see some diesel & electric traction getting the ‘Neville Grove’ treatment.

Well, obviously there is one glaring omission, but I'm more than happy to forgive that seeing as your layout is primarily for steam. But my real point is that you are the absolute master of model railway filming technique; just stunning!
Cheers Roger that’s generous of you to say so. I’d absolutely love to build another layout set in the 90’s with OHLE as I spent many happy hours as a kid around that time at Carlisle Station and linesiding Shap. I just need another layout room and twice the amount of available time! 😅

Superbly produced as always Steve, the 91 certainly looks as though it’s just come off the mainline flies and all and the Tug with the ARC wagons looks a treat, both weathered to perfection, cheers 👍

Its my birthday today. Its coincidence that the Class 60's were first produced in 1989 and were nicknamed Tugs.
