    This is exactly how all the skirts I've bought in Japan are structured!
    Watching in anticipation of my sewing machine that I will own one day in the future! ☺️

      You could sew all of this by hand! It takes a lot longer but the seams will actually be stronger! Lots of tutorials online from vintage clothing enthusiasts. All it costs is the needle and thread as opposed to having to buy the full machine. Just a suggestion.

    This is such a good video, thank you so much for this!! The instructions were super clear, even for an absolute beginner like me. There's other videos out there that cut parts of the progress and make it seem a lot more intimidating than it is. Thanks again, I also loved your setup and introduction! Everything's so dreamy. ✨💕😭

    This was such a great tutorial, you are a great teacher! This is my first project ever with my sewing machine. the fact I actually got a skirt at the end is incredible, considering today was the first time I’ve ever sewing a garment in my life. I most certainly have you and this video to thank for that! I have been watching tutorial after tutorial for weeks now, just to get a gist of which one I actually wanted to try out. Most other super beginner friendly tutorial videos out there are for things that don’t really suit my style (Frankly, plain old circle skirts and camisole tops bore me to death!). This was a lifesaver! I’m super excited to make more of these with different trims, colors, etc…

    Just started my Lolita journey, got recommended this video and found it really helpful. Are there fabrics I should avoid using while making Lolita fashion? Or fabrics that work better than others?

    • @fairyannechannel
      @fairyannechannel  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’m so glad this video was helpful! You can make lolita clothes out of most any fabric you want! I personally recommend starting with cotton fabrics as that is a very beginner friendly material. Cute prints, especially border prints will work great for lolita style! You can also add things like lace, pockets, aprons, waist ties, embroidery, etc. to make it extra cute and extra you 😊

    • @fairyannechannel
      @fairyannechannel  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      As far as specific fabrics to avoid, I would stay away from using anything that has stretch to it. You want a fabric that can hold the shape/silhouette of lolita.

  • @carolina7660
    @carolina7660 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Why add elastic if you're gonna use a zipper anyway? Or just use elastic so you don't have to use the zipper. Why use both?

    • @courtneycherry5582
      @courtneycherry5582 3 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      The zipper keeps the elastic from giving out over time from putting it on over and over and the elastic gives you extra room so it's not sitting tightly on your waist or hips. Over all it's for comfort. ☺️👍
