Jerry wrote the sound track for a great movie that he was in, called Smokey and the Bandit. The main song in the movie was called Eastbound and Down, which is a great sound. The premise of the movie is that a rich guy bet this daredevil that he couldn't drive to Texarkana, Texas and back to Atlanta, in (I think it was 28 hours), while picking up a Semi-Truck worth of Coors Beer. (Back in those days, it was illegal to take Coors Beer East of the Mississippi River). Jerry drove the truck, and Burt Reynolds was The Bandit, driving a Trans Am muscle type car. Eastbound and Down is a fun song to listen to.
And then there was the movies! Jerry Reed Hubbard (March 20, 1937[1] - September 1, 2008),[2] known professionally as Jerry Reed, was an American country singer, guitarist, composer, songwriter and actor who appeared in more than a dozen films. His signature songs included "Guitar Man", "U.S. Male", "A Thing Called Love", "Alabama Wild Man", "Amos Moses", "When You're Hot, You're Hot" (which garnered a Grammy Award for Best Country Vocal Performance, Male), "Ko-Ko Joe", "Lord, Mr. Ford", "East Bound and Down" (the theme song for the 1977 film Smokey and the Bandit, in which Reed co-starred), "The Bird", and "She Got the Goldmine (I Got the Shaft)". Reed was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum. He was announced as an inductee into the Country Music Hall of Fame in April 2017 and he was officially inducted by Bobby Bare on October 24.[3]
Female here, my first husband got out of our marriage no court costs, no property split, no alimony, $83.00 in child support which he never paid. It was still the easiest 175 lbs anyone could lose.
Jerry Reed saved me from divorce. Was pretty young when I first heard this song. I keep it in mind every time "marriage" talk comes up and I jump ship. Never married and don't regret it in the least.
I knew you'd love this one my dad sang it to my older brother when he got divorced from his 1st wife and moved in back home . Me and dad laughed like hell..... John wasn't amused 😅✌️❤️
Another good song Country Roads - Roy Clark "Thank God for Greyhound She's Gone. Video from a Country family Reunion Show. lots of the Great Country Stars,
You should do more novelty songs from Ray Stevens,Jim Stafford,Merle Travis,Roger Miller, Hoyt Axton. You should react to some of Jerry reeds Smoky and the bandit movies ✌️❤️
Been married 3 times. Third has been 23 years. I nicknamed them prequel (1st), Sequel and Trilogy. And yes i call them that. Well Sequel and Trilogy, the prequel i havent seen in 40 yrs. Two dumb kids who should've never got married. No kids. O just told the first two take whatever you want. Take it all if you want. They did lol. Its good to remain friends when you can. Funny song. I can cook so im not sure what my reason was 🤔
You need to check out the group "Old Dogs", which consists of Jerry Reed, Waylon Jennings, Mel Tillis and Bobby Bare...."Me and Jimmie Rodgers". You need to listen to Jerry describe his ride in the F-16 Jet.
My favorite part of the song is him eating bologna & not knowing how to cook😂😂. Listen to his song "the bird". My favorite is "When you're hot, you're hot. " Yes, we had a sense of humor. There are tons of fun songs in Country Music. I also like C. W. McCall "Classified." Even the funny songs tell a story. If you want a cute, listen to Bobby Bare "Singin' in the kitchen" or "Daddy what if." Not sure if you did it yet... Mac Davis "OH Lord, it's hard to be humble." Since you like Conway Twitty & Loretta Lynn, listen to: "Pickin' wild mountain berries," "Spiders & Snakes," "You're the reason our kids are ugly." You will enjoy these 3 songs performed by Conway & Loretta. They had so much fun singing together. No matter what the song was about.
Amos MOSES, not Ramos, although they are kind of an anagram of each other. Yeah man Moses as you probably well know was a huge figure in the Old Testament of the Bible and so it plays on all of those things in these very clever lyrics. But I love that song so much just because of the feel of it and how sharp and biting and funky it is and it's got that Jerry Reed humor deeply infused. Well I wonder where the Louisiana Sheriff went to? And then he talks about how it's so easy to get lost in those swamps, laugh.
Jerry Reed is hilarious, whoever doesn't find this funny has no sense of humor! "Why didn't I just learn how to cook"? I always wondered how many men asked themselves the same question! Ha!Ha!Ha! Loved your reaction Ace!
As a man I find this funny. But I have never been married and never will. I will also make relentless fun on any friends of mine who get divorced and end up like this. That's just the kind of good friend I am. On a more serious note Jerry has written a lot of more mainstream kind of songs as well. At the time he was what we would call a "ghost writer" today for more serious artists and just did his own funny songs on the side.
It's absolutely hilarious in a frustrating and heartbreaking way, I've been through it multiple times and it's not really necessarily defined through traditional gender roles, it happens with any series of Partners you go through in life. But I do believe something you should understand is the backdrop at the time, this was a bit older and so it was more common for your parents or your grandparents whatever to stay together for a very long time even when maybe they should have split ways because that just wasn't an option and the Great Depression or during World War ii. But when you're the next generation removed from that you've got all this pressure to be like that but the reality is the world is much more dynamic now, parts of families move all over the United States or all over the globe or whatever, and everything just gets more fragmented. It's modern life. So you can have all these intense relationships but you have to be able to have a sense of humor about it but it's a very self-effacing sense of humor and it's just basically trying to make a deep internal pain relatable to other people because a lot of us go through this.
So glad to see you enjoying Jerry! Here’s another one for ya! (Not as fun/funny, but it’s a good one, for sure!) Enjoy! 😁 th-cam.com/video/Yz7aV5XvBNs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=uR9HMhFORkWhOO3s

You’ve got to watch Jerry live. His master of the guitar is something to see, along with his facial expressions…hilarious!
Jerry Reed is a legend, and a HECK of a guitarist. He also sang the theme to SMOKEY and the BANDIT, and starred in the movie, as Snowman.

Who is playing the "SPOONS" in this?
I got nothing, child support was $5.00 a week. Didn't keep my daughter in diapers. He was making $30.00 an hour. So who got the shaft.
You meant Amos Moses
