    • @OneDrop504

      @@Azarable Just a lot of practicing. You kind of have to re-learn because reggae is so different from other styles. Takes a lot of time, been doing it 20 years.

    The most admirable and not so well dignified drummer of all time. Always listening and carefully follow bob’s improvising and telling a story behind him.
    Great work to learn all this beautiful song men.

      @Hotters 7060 Lloyd "Tinleg" Adams belongs at the top of that list in my opinion.

    • @Azarable
      @Azarable 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@OneDrop504 Loyd "Tinleg" Adams should be on the list of top Jamaican drummers. I agree with that 💯 percent.
      In some videos of live Bob Marley concerts in the late 1970's and early 1980's, I have seen Carlton Barrett using Yamaha drumkits. In the concert of 1979 in Santa Barbara, Carlton Barrett used a blue colored Yamaha drumkit. It was probably rental gear though.

      @OneDrop504  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Azarable Well, they stopped making 3 ply Ludwig sets in 1976. So you don't see him play them much after 1977. From memory, last time I've seen him playing on a Ludwig 3 Ply was the Live at the Rainbow video, which was 1977. And I think that was his personal set, which was destroyed in a fire at some point.

    • @Azarable
      @Azarable 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OneDrop504 I think that the Ludwig drumkit that Carlton used in 1977 was given to him by Bob Marley as a gift. Bob Marley got that drumkit from the United States. I think it was from Delaware or New York. I can't remember. That drumset was destroyed in a fire in a club in Jamaica.

    Great to listen to it with drums getting what it deserves in terms of sound recording, which I still think that drums did not get what it takes in the recording history with the exception of some studios like Dynamic Sounds or Burning Sounds records. The rest (the music itself) is purely Jamaican mastery of drumming and you get it right man, respect.

    This is amazing, the same duplicate of what Carly played back then, history is now re-witnessed... :D.
    Pls do record in a brighter room again and arrange the camera to focus on hi-hat, since the hi hat is the most difficult and tricky parts of Carlton Barrett.

      Im not sure, iv never timed it. Maybe a week or 2. Sometimes a day or two. Depends on how much i listen to it. Depends on how long the song is, depends on how well i know the song already, or if its something i have never heard.
