I think people don't appreciate this theme enough. It isn't as bombastic as Mor Ardain - Roaming the Wastes - or as Gormott Plain (Day), but I think this theme brings out some strong feelings of home for me. Let's give this theme some more love, shall we guys?
This song will always remind me being one shotted by level 81 Territorial Rotbart.. An extremely high level enemy in the starting area? Yeah its a Xenoblade Chronicles game allright.
As much as I love 1 and 3, there was truly something magical about this game that hasn’t been replicated before or since. It made me feel like I was a kid playing RPGs on the Super Nintendo.
I do have the feeling that i should replay 2 at some point, as it was the very first xenoblade game i played. I honestly enjoyed the original and 3 a lot because of the characters and less reliance on anime tropes and fan service, which i found made the second game embarassing to play at times. Its weird to think that this game turns 6 years old soon though. I believe that would make it about 6 years since i played this game, I think i got it because it released around christmas and seemed fun. I still have somewhat mixed opinions on both 2, and to some extent X which i have not played.
...I prefer this version of the theme. The day theme is still great, don't get me wrong, it's just my nighttime loving self that prefers this theme more, particularly for how 1:44 sounds.
@@radioactivecheesenowinnucl4746 haha yeah, I'm one of those too what I meant was, for the soundtrack, they actually recorded an ending to each song, whereas in the game you never hear that, it simply loops endlessly.
@@KairuHakubi Believe it or not, they aren't in the original soundtrack, either. There just happens to be audio data after the end loop point, so depending on the ripping method, the endings can be heard. I don't think all of them were deliberate, though. The same applies for XBDE btw, though the popular rips seem to just loop... :(
@@el_primer_y_el_ultimo_caiman Did you mean "they aren't JUST in the original soundtrack" ? Because it sounds like you're saying it's in both. That's fascinating, so the loop point was set but the whole track does exist. I wonder if there was ever a plan for, if you fast traveled at the right moment, the final bit of the track to play as kind of an easter egg transition during the loading screen.
@@KairuHakubi What I mean is that those endings are only present in the game files, not on the official release. They're a byproduct of however Monolith Soft's audio import process worked in Xenoblade 2 and Definitive Edition, although the idea of discarding the loop data contextually is not unprecedented. This trick is used to make the most of the cartridge space in The World Ends With You; "Twister" is looped in battles, but played fully in the opening movie. There's an extra segment at the end. Still, while it would be a cool easter egg, I doubt that was the intention... Should've just implemented it in that case :P If you want to listen to the ones from DE (most of the original looped tracks have endings, a bit less luck for some of the new arrangements) you can play them using the VGMStream component for Foobar2000 (Windows version) with all parameters set to 0 and loop mode set to "never". The audio files are hosted on vgm dot hcs64 dot com ( replace "dot" with . )
I’ll admit, my initial impressions of this game weren’t great because of gormott. Just felt that it was trying too hard to be guar plain, which i still stand by. But at least uraya’s vistas were able to change my mind
While I will say 2 is definitely my least favourite out of the 3, it was also the first Xenoblade game I had ever played. Thing is, the issues I had with Xenoblade 2 were a few really big things, that could have been removed or fixed easily. This game could have really been something more.
@@Shu_Utsugi1999 Yes I like 3 more than 2, as it has significantly better writing, character design, and in my opinion gameplay. I don’t hate 2, but it is by far the worst of the 3 games in terms of characters and story. The Gacha mechanics were also not fun at all.

Interesting how there's actual noises of night critters integrated into this song. Very clever and adds to the atmosphere.

This game is a masterpiece in every single way. The game that made me a fan of the Xenoblade Chronicles series ♥️
