Hoping we get a 7inch scale ultimate Tim Burton Batman series. Getting tired of all the TMNT and Back To The Future priority.
Well back to the future is fine as we've never had figures from those movies before, especially in this detail, but with turtles yes I agree, its just endless and really boring

He really should come with a penguin accesory, or an umbrella, outstanding sculpting regardless.

This is awesome! Although the Dark Knight films and Bale are my favourites, DeVito killed it as the Pengiun! I'll have to pic up this figure....#NECA crushed it! And as always....this review is on point!
Very cool version!! The face sculpt is dead on perfect! But man, no umbrella accessory? I loved that helicopter umbrella he had in the film, but just a basic black umbrella would have been cool! Great figure though and his other accessories are nice.

I got this and 89 bat's back in 2016. I'm waiting on my pre-order for Catwoman. So happy these got reissued. Been wanting to get her forever.
different Penguin though
I've got mine displayed in his mayoral glory with coat, top hat, monocle and cigarette. My absolute favorite version of Penguin! I really wish they'd have included some scaled buttons for him to pin on voters
I regret not having picked up this figure from a local comic book store a couple of months ago when I had the chance. I regret it even more, especially after watching this video. The head sculpt is 100% accurate in terms of Danny DeVito's likeness. I like the dark paint that was applied around the eyes. The teeth are appropriately dirty and disgusting. The hair transitions quite nicely from solid plastic to rooted hair. There has been a fair amount of dirt and grime that was added to Penguin's shirt. Having the suit jacket sown into inside of the coat was a nice touch on the part of NECA. However, for as good as the vest looks, I wished that it was made out of actual fabric, just like the pants. Penguin has some pretty good articulation for being such a portly character. Even the fish carcass is nicely sculpted, painted and detailed. That's a testament to NECA's solid work. As a whole, the figure is quite impressive. However, I don't know why the umbrella was omitted. It's one of the most important accessories for Penguin, which makes its omission all the more puzzling. Once again, I wished that I bought this figure when the opportunity presented itself. I'll try to hunt one down via Ebay if possible. With that aside, thanks as always Spot for another great video. I really appreciate the continued hard work. Keep it up!
This one is easily available on amazon. It was just released not long ago. The older model is harder to find and more expensive.
Great review, thanks. I have the first version and the head sculpt is more mennacing. If they wanted to make him full "Mayoral outfit" Penguin, they should have gave him suspenders for the trousers, like in the movie.

Have both the original releases. Hands down, the BEST takes on DeVito's Penguin and I'm not sure how anyone else could outdo NECA's. Sewer Penguin's fun but Mayoral is his more memorable look in the movie.
Great figure, picked it up last month with Catwoman on the way this week. Just waiting on Batman now. Nice review!

I don't care about Batman or DC but this is incredible! The fact it's 1/4th scale too, wow.
I passed on the original release of this and the other version because Hot Toys had announced DX versions of the Batman Returns lines back in Feb 18, 2012. But being HT many things they announce never see the light of day!! I think I will have to pick this up. Looks great not a fan of the hair and how it falls. I would prefer to have it over his shoulder and down the front. Great review. Has this been officially released yet?

Spot, does it not bother you that in the movie he wasnt wearing gloves when he was lured down eating the fish? He also wasnt dressed as the mayor at that point....
true, but it could also be that NECA didn't include the fish with the initial Penguin 1/4 so they added it with this one so you could use it with the first Penguin maybe?
