Ya know when they say 'The apple didn't fall far from the tree' yeaaahhhh, (talent and such) His daughter didn't ever fall OFF the tree.. (which thiss video may not have 'showcased' just how MUCH heart/talent and vocal range she really has, their duet on 'My name is Ruin [Especially the 'Live' cuts from performances] really show how in tune both musically and as dad/daughter ❤❤❤
The doo-doo-doo-doo part is the cutest! I'm trying so hard not to be jealous. I've been in 47 failed bands, never had a daddy, and can't have children but I'll tell you what, it's still adorable for some reason! I can't be jealous, it's just so cute! I saw him during the Dominion Day tour at the Fillmore SF back in what was that? 1999, 2000 or something? I want to catch this tour too. I'd love to see him with his daughter too! That's so cute she's so lucky. Jamming with Daddy over the campfire - rad! Doo-doo-doo-doo...
Just stumbled across this gem. With his daughter bundled in that blanket providing backing instruments makes this rendition about as personal as it can get. The only thing missing is the campfire. Beautiful intimate moment. Thanks for sharing.
Persia- you have no idea how much your Dad helped me through life- I had some serious issues that I did not understand... it took me decades. But when he would sing these really odd lyrics= it gave me a puzzle to work out. That there was another reality than the limited one i had grown up with. That there were other ideas and stories in the world. These (ideas) were not accurate in any sense of the word... but your Dad gave me the space to think. he literally kept me alive, probably- I can't say for sure. But he gave me the impetus to find my own worth. He helped me understand the idea of the narrative- to suspend reality for a period and thing in another way. This may sound silly to you- and it should. But trust me: you Dad is one of the coolest humans on the planet. Probably a jerk at times too... but so am I. I'm a pilot, engineer, electrician-- not by design- but very much like the ideas your Dad dreamed of. I cannot imagine a better muse.
not only is he talented he is the most humble and down to Earth person in the world. I will never forget meeting him and how he had a 1hr long talk with me about Autism as he and myself both live with it.
Just spoke with my own daughter on the phone from Germany, this brought tears to my eyes as I’ve not been able to see her for ages. Absolutely brilliant. Thanks Gary and Persia.
Intimate, real and wonderful. What an honour to be welcomed into a performing artists home for a few minutes and hum along while he and his daughter sing.
Came home from school and got lost in Gary Numans haunting voice..life was never easy back then but to relate to something so beautiful was a comfort ive never forgot..You lived in my heart
Well, I am a 58 older guy now but back in 1979 my fair hair was dyed BLACK 🖤, when my mum God rest her came home from work she did not notice for 10 minutes then had a fit, how I laughed. I would just like to say Mr Numan your video made my morning and the love you share with your daughter is great to see, as I do mine. Thank you so much for my late 70's / 80's fantastic memories, Gerard 🤗🇬🇧
I was in lockdown I heard this acoustic in the park with Gary numan his daughter what is amazing song I thought I was alone when Gary numan did lockdown acoustic songs made me realise not alone thank you Gary amazing guitar got me through knowing that you was there wonderful music on your guitar take care love to you and your family you're mint ❤️❤️
Wow. Almost lost for words at how much joy and love is wrapped up in this. I laughed out loud at a couple of points, and I was moved by the lovely bond between Gary and Persia(?). Such a wonderful open thing to show us all. And finally, yep, if you can play it on an acoustic, and sing, and it still sounds like a song, it's a winner.
Gary is a true icon and a gentleman to the core whom I had the opportunity to meet once. Such a humble down to earth great soul of a Human Being. Keep it up Gar!
'...'that god will keep you safe and alive and that you would live forever.'' - yeah, right... I used to fall for false idols. You just cured me of that.
Bowie got his security to get rid of Gary when he wanted to talk to him. That got Got Gazza, and he started saying that Bowie used to be good but lost it kind of thing, or something along those lines.
IMO this is the single best thing on the internet. I was living in a shared house going to university when Replicas was released... we were listening to the radio with speakers out in front of the house when "Are Friends Electric" was played for the first time. We didn't know what to make of it... closest we could think of was Devo but it didn't really fit... so we dispatched one person to Sam The Record Man and another to CHUM-FM and burned up the pay phones figuring out what was going on. An hour later one of the dispatchees came back with a copy of Replicas and the world was a bit different from that point. This was around the time that what would become FM was performing as "Nash the Slash and Cameron Hawkins" at the local universities so there was a fair amount of world changing going on at the time.
Gary, what an unbelievable version of this incredible song. You could almost imagine after the Mach-men destroy themselves, a pocket of humans, no tech, and just an acoustic guitar filled with memories of simpler times.
Still one of my faves as i cant get tired off it at all. Cars i stopped playing in the late 90s. But this and Are Friends Electric always works for me.. Must find a remix of this right now i think... 😊
So awesome. Thank you so much for sharing this with all of us. It's really refreshing to see a music pioneer and his daughter playing music acoustically. No big production. No autotune.
Wow , his live voice is as incredible as imagined. And Persia has the potential for sure. Just take singing lessons away from dad and you Persia will grow incredible for sure.
TH-cam gold!
i wish i can give a million thumbs....
more talent in his little finger than the whole charts put together
Agreed 😁
Totally
😂👌🤣🎼👌

👍 definitely
when a artist is better unplugged, then all in the charts today... that means something
Lovely rendition. I'm adding this to my Gary Numan playlist. It's great seeing his daughter, Persia, add backing vocals to a classic song.
Always been my favourite number song, this version is another twist to his talent.
The doo-doo-doo-doo part is the cutest! I'm trying so hard not to be jealous. Oh my gawd! And she said thank you after! What amazing manners! Do you think that they will adopt me? I want in!
Just so beautiful. Father and daughter. So grateful to see this. Two wonderful talents together.
That was awesome. Why it took me so long to come across this video, I have no idea. Shame on me.
Thank you. I can now turn the internet off as there can be nothing better then this.

I cannot imagine a better muse.
I understand exactly what you mean.
Superb...and so cute and lovely.
not only is he talented he is the most humble and down to Earth person in the world. I will never forget meeting him and how he had a 1hr long talk with me about Autism as he and myself both live with it.
I give the qualification of one of the most beautiful videos in YT. 🥰
I sat smiling like a loon and willed her along throughout. Louder, indeed !!
I feel privileged you let us into your wonderfully beautiful world. What a gift. Thanx for this. Too sweet🙏💜🙌🤙🤟
He's just so damn Cool! And you can see just how close he is to his Daughter. Great Dad you are Gary! Family is soooooooo important!
Good times she's so adorable in her blanket
The voice hasnt changed...and still a charismatic track 40+ years on.
Just spoke with my own daughter on the phone from Germany, this brought tears to my eyes as I’ve not been able to see her for ages. Absolutely brilliant.
Thanks Gary and Persia.
Amazing how his voice still sounds the same today, unlike many other singers from the past.
I think ot might have to do with his singing style, which isn't as likely to cause vocal damage as for example a metal growl
That's one proud and very caring dad. And his daughter is really into the music. Lovely interaction. ❤
Beautiful watching Gary introducing his daughter into the real art of music making ... Non of this Auto Tune nonsense ... ✌️
I feel so old and also so blessed to have grown up with Gary's music.
Sven and Steve in Castril Spain you are awesome the pair of you! 🎉
Masterpiece.
Intimate, real and wonderful. What an honour to be welcomed into a performing artists home for a few minutes and hum along while he and his daughter sing.
My thoughts exactly.
I started crying.
Came home from school and got lost in Gary Numans haunting voice..life was never easy back then but to relate to something so beautiful was a comfort ive never forgot..You lived in my heart

*Numan x
First Gary Numan I ever heard, in the movie "Times Square" never could forget it. Started buying everything He did a few years later.
Love it! His daughter completes this song perfectly. Thank you both!
Precious moments like tears in the rain
I feel very privileged to have been able to share this with them. It feels very personal. Thank you for posting this video.
This song sounds amazing no matter how it’s played
What a lovely rendition and made all the better by seeing the obvious love and fun shared by a father and his daughter. Wonderful.
Timeless, Thanks
Just really cute how he loves his daughter, family so much. Great man....
That was absolutely fantastic! What a wonderful moment captured that she’ll be able to look back on throughout her life, as will he. Beautiful!
What an unbelievably beautiful and lucky daughter!
Persia is an excellent addition to his sound. Perfect.
So sweet....So daft....!

Goosebumps... My first Gary Numan album was on 8-track and he is better than ever; I hope that Persia continues in his footsteps.
Beautiful. She reminds me of mine.
Lost her at 13.
You've my condolences. 🙏😖😑 Hope you are healing. I can't imagine my kids leaving this earth before me.
Keep on rocking Gary..old fan..👍😎
Best & coolest thing I've seen & heard all year so far. Cheers from Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey!

Six people have sore thumbs they can't hold them up. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Parenting through participation. So glad he’s made a strong return, and brought his daughter.
Pleasure principle was the first album I ever bought. I was 11 brilliant
A song with good bones can be performed in innumerable ways. Back in my day they were called "standards." This is one of them.
This is so lovely and heart warming to see gorgeous Gary and his lovely daughter persia bless
Absolutely phenomenal. What a legend Gary is and such an immense talent
His daughters vocals just make it that extra bit haunting, love it.
What a beautiful smile
Cutest daughter ever. I've been a fan of his work since 1980.

I'm pretty sure that's either Persia or Echo (probably Persia).
Gary is a true icon and a gentleman to the core whom I had the opportunity to meet once. Such a humble down to earth great soul of a Human Being. Keep it up Gar!
I'm so proud of Gary, I hope he is well. Pure class and intelligence.
gary is a prophet when he makes music. we pray for you and the ones you love that god will keep you safe and alive and that you would live forever.
Thanks again for informing me about this video. Also I kept my word and listen to the video like I said I would.
'...'that god will keep you safe and alive and that you would live forever.''
- yeah, right...
I used to fall for false idols.
You just cured me of that.
If i could i would give you a million thumbs up!
I was smiling all the way through this, it's exactly what I needed, thank you so much!
Dont we all need this. He just finished his biggest tour in 40 years and now silence.
great...gary....listen to you since 1978... greeting from germany....take care !!
timeless, one of his best..
Such a shame back in the day Gary an Bowie didn’t bump an collaborate would have been awesome
Bowie got his security to get rid of Gary when he wanted to talk to him. That got Got Gazza, and he started saying that Bowie used to be good but lost it kind of thing, or something along those lines.
the next numan .. classic introduction :) :P
Dude how was this mic'd it sounds so good what a great memory for the girl.
Excellent , Merci Gary , et sa Fille aussi ...✌
Ran across the live version of this performed at Brixton Academy and now it brought me here. Lol Great work Numan
Very Human Gary Numan... in a good way...
He seems human. We think we know him. Think again. Trent doesn't partner with just any ole rock star.
...more human than human, that's our motto...
Such a beautiful version of this great song ... hope there will be once an acoustic album from Gary and Persia
wow , how beautiful was that. God bless
IMO this is the single best thing on the internet.

Absolutely great to see this side of Gary.
Gotta love a bit of Numan 👍🏻
warms the heart
Still one of my faves as i cant get tired off it at all. Cars i stopped playing in the late 90s. But this and Are Friends Electric always works for me.. Must find a remix of this right now i think... 😊
Cuteness overload..
Mr. Numan you are a musical icon and your daughter will be also in a few years.
One of my old heroes with an amazing performance with his beatutiful and talanted daughter Persia. Obrigado!
Wonderful 💯💜🌹🌷🌺🌹
Love ye Numan x 🙌 🌟 ❤️
I always thought this deserved to do better in the charts than it achieved when it was released as a single.
So awesome. Thank you so much for sharing this with all of us. It's really refreshing to see a music pioneer and his daughter playing music acoustically. No big production. No autotune.
Such a great bonding moment. Gary is a terrific father.
Gary Human. Dad. :-) Always loved this guy.
Cooooool!
Wow , his live voice is as incredible as imagined. And Persia has the potential for sure. Just take singing lessons away from dad and you Persia will grow incredible for sure.
Delightful.
This is damn cool. 👍❤️👍
Beautiful, thanks Mr. Numan, for giving us some food for the soul!
Lovely duo.
One of my favorites. You should release an acoustic album. I hope your daughter continues and one day you're singing backup. Cheers!
Best Daddy / Daughter Day EVAR!
I love it. This track will never get old. Thank you guys
Excellent.
