Dual enrollment is growing so quickly because it's largely homeschoolers who are choosing to go to college early this way. Very common, in fact. In Texas, you can choose when to graduate your homeschooled student and start college, or when to begin dual enrollment. It ism't that minorites can't participate because colleges offer incentives aimed at those populations. It's just that some people are more interested in going. Mostly those outside the public school system.

i have questions so does this cost money? and also is the teachers expectations are applied to highschool students as college students meaning do they expect us to put in effort into the work like college students

Usually with dual credit schools, the school itself pays for classes and textbooks. Both high school teachers and college professors will treat high school students as college students, so it is good to make sure that you have the maturity level if you are thinking of doing dual-credit.

@@andreaiukook9964 It depends on your credits and which classes you have completed. I know that in freshmen and sophomore years, I could only take electives and history courses because I did not take the Math TSI. But after I took it, I could take math and science courses. As for credits, I couldn't take history classes until sophomore year because I needed to complete a half-credit of World History. Hope that helps!
