I use a large cast iron skillet over a coleman stove. For the molds I buy them at a large sporting goods store to make the specific shapes I normally use. Mostly egg weights with a hole down the middle so the line slides through. I find the half to three quarter oz. weights the right size for lake fishing and larger sizes for the bay.
Omfgg. Was doing this 20+ years ago. From off cuts of lead flashing, when I was a roofer. We would twist a peace of wire, & place it in the mold first.

I've never used that before. I stick with the non-stick cooking spray and buy it cheap from the Dollar General store. I have been using it forever, you don't have to worry about anymore chemicals fumes, and it's only about $3.00. You can also use it to spray on the pull pins, that are used for your egg sinker and other molds. This makes removing the pins really easy.

I know nothing about respirator mask, but i want to make 5 and 10 pound offshore fishing lead weights in the future. I like what i see here, but i want to do it safely. What respirator mask would you recommend for sure fire safety?
@@daveberry2177 Some people just don't care about safety, how much lead was spilled when they dumped a bucket of weights in there? And how many weights fell into the fire? And they didn't even make sure that the bucket was perfectly dry. I get it, they don't care about safety, but don't waste all that lead

Use dry Graphite spray to coat inside of cupcake molds and your aluminum sinker molds. They will come out easy.

Any respirator works well if it seals. The filters are your concern, just ask the seller what filter they recommend for working with lead

Impurities will stick to wax,if you using wheel weight they are lighter than the lead and will come to top too,good luck

The sawdust is only important if you are melting lead for making your own bullets. You can skip that step and save yourself some work.
