Dude, I'm so impressed! I wish I knew this much about cars/mechanical stuff at your age. Keep up the good work!
Glad you eventually got it going, I’ve had 3 of these over the years as projects and runners, my biggest and most common issue was always the carb, they would either run and cut out or run but then cut out or very little power and bogging down, the last one I had though a 1978 model ran very well.
Good video, keep up the good work.
This put a smile on my face. I had one just like that with same color. Mine had both rear view mirrors. I was 14. Loved it. Fun to ride. I miss that bike
Can't beat that little two stroke sound!
It’s in such great shape.
Love the bike vids, tought me alot
THATS A HEFTY SLATHERING OF SPICY CARB CLEANER!!!trippy in green!
I have a series of videos on my 79 Honda na50, and I even have a video on the oil pump delete. Looks like someone really cared for it and even got it titled, if that’s not love then I don’t know what is.
Love the old Civic and Celica
Leg day for sure when working on these bikes…question I was ridding my bike and all of a sudden a shut off and wouldn’t turn on anymore
Thanks
where did you get that magical dirt? and loved the video too! Just inherited a 1980 Honda express - I'm having some fun now fixing it up 😎
the reeds are rarely an issue. I'd clean points while there. Exhaust could be clogged. I'm not at end of vid yet. and idle jet is hard to clean and often clogged.
Hope you got it running. Wondering about the rest of the story. I got an 82 and no spark, no power to anything. PO had foil wrapped around the fuse? Trying to figure out what to do next if you have any ideas. Thanks!
I love the little civic in the background....had a 78 with factory wood steering wheel and 4 speed is it for sale ???
Would a 6v 1.5a part number SLA0905 battery work for a Honda Express II? Also, what size cap did you put in?
My sister had a red one.
I used to zip around on my grandmother's old one of those when I was a kid. I destroyed it because I didn't no about the gearbox oil level and it ran dry and destroyed the drive train.
I’m sure it was lots of fun before blowing up. Cool VWs, just subscribed to your channel👍🏼
If you were just patient you could have done it without cutting original wires.
How heavy is tht I just want to know plz
Can a two-stroke motorcycle use a four-stroke starter relay? I can not find this kind condenser (starter relay) in Amazon
Are those oil pumps often bad?
Is the condenser a starter relay , right ? Because it helps the engine to start
👍
Cool old moped, but why didn't you power wash it before you started ? LOL
@@Mechanic_kidunderstandable, but it would’ve taken you 15min with a hose to at least get dirt off
She's definitely a keeper, can't believe the condition it's in. Let me know where you get your coil from please,
if that's the case those are a bitch to find and good luck.
Those oil pumps can fail and you don’t know it until your engine seizes up. Good call deleting it.
Push start it....
Of course you neglected to check the battery before you ran it and blew the headlight and related bulbs, right? Common mistake. On all ols mopeds, battery first! Its the voltage regulator for the alternater negative charge. Without it, the 6 volt bulbs see over 12 volts and blow right away..
Currently getting a 83 running.
Dude you stressed me out working on it with it so dirty . Shoulda washed her off before . These bikes get horny when you hit the power band 🤙
didn’t want to waste any energy washing if it wasn’t gonna run 😂. yeah the power band goes crazy on these little things lol
first atart in over 20years is bs on this moped carb looked clean alreary gas tank was super clean evwen when you took of the gas cap no surface ruat its bs also it was made to look like it was outside for a long time with mush juat splashed to it and let it dry ive come acros many moped motorcycles over 20 yeara or more some even 10 years and looked nonwear near this bike this was tampered with to get view trust me
I bought one for 100 bucks...
The music is got to go
These bikes a worth over $1000. Glad he didn't find mine. Lousy mechanic!.
why did you make it dirty? fake video
Yō dingle berry, ever heard of soupe & water. that carb simple, put not as you
You a patient mechanic, never loose your cool. It goes a long way in life.
