So good to see this. Thank you so much. I have worked at TDJ since 2004 but I'm old enough to remember the SD1 I owned 2! Despite all the changes in the MET when you see the opening sequence if this film you realise that things are basically the same. Brilliant!
I can't believe that a fatal RTC was dealt with by a couple of traffic cops, in such a short time! These days, this would take up at least the whole shift, with several officers, road closures, collision investigators and Scenes of Crime!

In the Met, the Traffic Patrol cars had the twin blue lights on the roof and the huge spoiler "Police " sign on the tailgate. The Area Cars (attached to police stations) had the single blue light and no rear sign. We all started out with the gutless 2600, but later Traffic Patrol got the much better 3500 V8. Ordinary plod were stuck with the 2600 until production ended.

I would just take this video to the House of Commons play it and say what’s gone wrong the plan hasn’t worked and Un do all the changes and law made , get out all foreigners in the last 30 years and start again

The whole shift ? Always a rolling handover in the initial day or 2 following any fatal I've investigated.
This is near where I live. Me and my dad recognized a lot of the places. Harold Wood Hospital is now a polyclinic, and was where I was born.

It's interesting how some police departments had fleet cars with only single beacon blue light, while others have cars with two beacons.
