A great video. I enjoy seeing all those potatoes. The babies definitely have personalities. A super lovely family. Thanks so much for sharing. Tell pop pop we are glad he is home. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Check the cow patties to see if the whole corn is passing through the cows, we used to feed 700 head of cattle and every day dad would check the patties, we would cracked the corn smaller till the Cattle would fully digest the corn
Andrew, Thank you for incorporating Pennsylvania farming into TH-cam video reality. Who could think and imagine that "ANYONE" would want to learn about your farming world? Seems many find your life interesting and more importantly, they see clean value in your farm's practices and produce .
I was always told that the cattle cannot get the full amount of nutrients out of the corn unless it is at least cracked becaues of the outside layer of the kernal
You've got some happy babies there. Always smiling. I love how you corrected yourself when you said "we'd be going crazy or crazier than what we are" 😂
I took over running the farm at 10, I didn't understand what I called my Animals were my moms To manage the Animals, I humanized them, I gave them Love and got Loved back I knew all my critters, when they saw me they would greet me and fallow me to feed them I came home from School and there was no Cows to greet me, Chickens, Pig's - the whole farm was empty Turned out Mom Sold Her Animals to free me of the everyday responsibility's (I enjoyed my time with the Animals, they made good friends to a farm kid)
We supply a few of our local farms and horse stables with saw dust from work. I’m glad that we support the animals they raise! I hope you guys can find a consistent source for your animals.
Had a neighbor who raised some turkeys one year, the same neighbor I got eggs from, and the largest one was 52 pounds and she had to cut it in half to fit it in the oven. Also, she kept a few geese with her chickens because they were the best guard dogs for keeping critters away from them, I just remembered that.
I've raised many turkeys, hens dressed out at 20 to 30 lbs and Tom's up to 50+ lbs. Never start them with turkey starter, it's too hot of a feed. Always start them with chicken starter.. And when it comes to butchering... make yourself a spoon knife, it's works so well you will not have to pluck a feather, they just fall out. My grandfather, a longtime poultry farmer always used a killing spoon. Even the pin feathers are not an issue. For more info let me know and I'll explain.
My dad never left the cattle out over winter. They were always brought into the barn. We have milking cows and baby beef so, the barn was full. // Did you know hens like human females only have a set number of eggs? FACT
That’s interesting hearing the whole corn is better than the cracked corn. I thought whole corn was less nutritional because it just goes threw the system
As for feeding corn to cows, the cow's stomach was not designed for grain. It was designed for grass. Yes, grass produces less marbling and takes longer to reach butchering weight, but it is better for the animals and for humans, according to a couple of studies, and some people prefer the taste of the taste of grass fed beef!! Plus, there's a market for it! Feeding cows corn to get rid of excess corn, saves money on feed, helps finish the cows up for butchering, plus the cows love it. 😆 🤣 😂
So what day does work begin on the old potato harvester, so you don't have to harvest on your knees all day next year? Is it actually fixable? Will you be putting a windbreak on the new sheds for those little calves? Maybe a sheet of plywood or some tin ziptied to the gates? Everything looks great. Glad you found that water leak. I worry that the work we did on the farm 45 years ago might be coming back to bite the current occupants.
I noticed the Griffin Greenhouse tape on a stack of supplies when you were showing the water line area. I live in the next town over from Griffin. My Dad had a backyard greenhouse business for about 35 years and he bought from them as well!
I have question. It usually looks like the potatoes aren't treated gently when being bagged. No criticism here, I just didn't know potatoes are that hardy. I did see when you were harvesting a particular type of potatoes you said they were thin skinned and they were treated carefully. Is it because your potatoes are hardy and good soil that they aren't so fragile to bruise ?
Hi, It’s good to see everyone doing well l see that Big pumpkin I can make a lot of pumpkin pie from scratch 😊Enjoy your day GOD Bless you all and yours always
I was under the impression that cattle couldn't digest whole corn. Forgive me if I'm incorrect, I am not a farmer, but I've heard you guys say more than once when doing corn silage that "we have to make the sure kernel is cracked otherwise the corn will go right through them." ???
Andrew I know you have to butcher the animals because that is why we have wonderful farmers like your family. I could never do that I fall in love with animals. I did enjoy the kittie you showed. Do you feed them anything , or just mice.
Yo! Andrew! Could y'all ask him himself what is wrong with the turkey pen? Looks like there could be a leak in the fencing someplace. Just saying. -Bob...
The hens heard Andrew talking about replacing them when they started slowing egg production so they're cranking those suckers out! 🤣🤣
How many people, besides me, instinctly said 'hello' to that chicken looking into the camera, haha

It’s always a bonus to get😅 to see the twins! They are developing a personality and that’s a joy to watch.
Repetitive? NAH! I have been watching, almost since the beginning and I never get bored. 😁😁
Saw this again and it's still good!

Your a hard working bunch thanks for sharing your lifestyle much appreciated
I watch a lot of dairy cattle shows and they all crack their corn because it help them digestive it easily
Watching you with the chickens I thought, you're quite the ladies man! 😂
You've got some happy babies there. Always smiling. I love how you corrected yourself when you said "we'd be going crazy or crazier than what we are" 😂
I think your oldee chickens are laying so many so they don't end up as chicken soup😂

Have you harvested everything for the season??🥦🥔🥦

Appreciate your guys and girls hard work. Keep going!👍
How has the chopped corn stocks working for bedding?

It seems there are a few turkeys missing
When do you give them water
Good day to all.
Make another channel and put a live cam in the chicken coop so we can watch the chickens
Great video love the chickens

I see a couple of turkeys are gone
Where do you cook a 38 lb. turkey?
We call it “freezer camp”
😂😂😂

Curious… won’t dropping those big chef potatoes into those bags like that bruise them up some, cause some to rot faster?
Hi, It’s good to see everyone doing well l see that Big pumpkin I can make a lot of pumpkin pie from scratch 😊Enjoy your day GOD Bless you all and yours always
Are you missing some turkeys 😂?
Any chance you can take us on a tour of the wholesaler sometime?
Random question, is there a reason you don’t grow onions?
That turkey flock is a bit smaller
Yea--barn cats!
Luv the chicken cam
Blessings
Not to be rude, but there seems to be some organizing, sweeping, hauling, repairing, jobs kinda layin' around?
There are fewer and fewer turkeys every video
Your cows are truly unique. Does anyone else share my opinion?
I was under the impression that cattle couldn't digest whole corn. Forgive me if I'm incorrect, I am not a farmer, but I've heard you guys say more than once when doing corn silage that "we have to make the sure kernel is cracked otherwise the corn will go right through them." ???
The chickens dont have the problemen when the ligths switch on in the morning
Bye turkeys, Its thanksgiving.
..hey.. 5 TURKEYS ARE MISSING .. 😅
What happened to your turkeys I see only three or four you had so many more?
As he said, they've been butchering them.
Do your egg layers slow down as it gets cold out and less daylight? …And got snow ?
hoping the chickens can get calmed down
But how much undigested corn do you find it your pies
Wow dinner looks delicious 😳it’s 10 .47 pm in Uk and yep I’m going to the fridge 🤣😂thanks Andrew x
Hey!! Where did all the turkeys go? (I am not talking about your brothers!) lol jk…..😊
Cookpot camp for Thanksgiving!! 🤣 🤣 🤣
Where do you cook a 38 pound tukey?!

Waving a hand from texas
How many cats have u got on the farm???
Yes they really could do a kitty show on the farm 👍
What I have noticed on your big potatoes they are very uneven manny so called lumps and bumps on them they going to be heck to peel.😂
I bought some taters the other day $8.99 2 kg only had 8 taters in the bag😋
I had 2 girls 3 years apart, the twin boys 15 months later. First was difficult. 2nd easier. But the twins...I found easier. Plus boys eat better.
Great vid!! 👍👍
Have you or any family member had a chicken knock over a basket of eggs?
---------------------- one year my friends gave me a fifty pounder - a other friend bone it ground it in to berger --- yes 50lbs
Posted 48 seconds ago!
Are you getting snow today Andrew, Nov 23rd?
Yo! Andrew! Could y'all ask him himself what is wrong with the turkey pen? Looks like there could be a leak in the fencing someplace. Just saying. -Bob...
