Land Rover Defender TD5 mud flap replacement

  • When I arrived home one day I discovered a missing mud flap. This is a quick video on how I tackled the replacement. Nothing complicated, a very simple fix.

    The worst thing about those mudflaps is the rubber splitting - especially if they get a bit heavy with mud or snow sticking to them as they swing about.
    Plusgas is great - it stinks if you get it on your fingers, though.

      Hi and thanks for the comments. The new flaps feel more like plastic than rubber so I'd be interested in how long they do actually last with mud swinging on them! Time will tell. Thanks for watching.

    I got 4 stainless steel mudflap brackets off Ebay £37and just bolt the flaps onto them fit lovely.. no rust...

      Hi, I did see some galvanised ones recently and I think the stainless a few years ago. This might be a route I'll go down when the new metal ones rust out. Thanks for the comments and of course for watching.
