Well said. Don't quite your job right away, take a reasonable risk.
The best way is just start app development as a hobby, Learn and publish your apps, and test your app ideas, your niche. If it keeps growing, do it more, if not change or modify your niche and try again.
Starting a business has to come by itself based on your success. No need to take a big risk from the start. Start simple, as a hobby. Once you start publishing apps, then good ideas start to come. If you have a good app idea, the idea will keep motivating you. Some ideas will keep waking you up, and the adrenaline will make you crazy. Good app ideas are like "Sight Love", you have to check her up every moment, study, try, test, try, test again and again. It keeps driving you. Some ideas are so powerful that they challenge you to stretch your programming knowledge, and you will be surprised by what you accomplish. Above all YOU MUST BELIEVE in your ideas.
Clients come later after you released some apps and plant your name in Google play. I think 6 months to 1 year as a hobby, then it gets clear for you.
Like every other thing in life there are many ways to do it.

I have a great idea for an app but I’m not great with the technical aspects of creating an app, how do I find trust worthy developers that’s not just looking to take my money

How much do you cost to make an app?

I like these daily videos. As a wannabe app developer (3 on the Play Store at present, doing poorly of course) living in the UK I find your videos offer the exact information that interests me. I'm hoping with a bit of luck I can eventually end up with an app or two that can allow me to continue developing apps, cos to be honest its something I really enjoy, its just the lack of acquisition that is disheartening. That being said, your advice does help with motivation so keep it up!

"I'll talk to you guys tomorrow" BEST ENDING EVER!!! :D ... BTW, your intro where you say your name, etc, is good and on every video you are getting better and better! I have a question for you, you always say you like doing work in office, soooo... when can we see your setup in office? I am really intrigue to see what you have of equipment, how many desks, phones, what view you have from windows, you know :) ... usual stuff
starting a company is not easy, my goal is to earn some money first and then tried it...paper work in Serbia is pain in the a** -.- ...

Overpass Well that's the point =) ... To see your office in real light, I am interested how that looks when you do your work. Maybe you could film yourself working for couple of hours and then replay that multiple times faster, you know what am I thinking, I could find some example on TH-cam... it's OK if that's too much, tell me what you think... keep up with the good work =)

Would you please advice what we should do just after releasing an app? Is there any other way apart from spending money on AD. With AD I found the return is too low! Anyway you're an expert and hanging on there for a long time - Any advice for newbies like us with

    Hey man! that was awesome!
I just heard these words and I thought they are coming out of my mouth. I have an app development company where we do contract work and I had this company for 3 years. Great team and great contracts but the pressure and deadlines are really bothering.
I was wondering to start my own app with my team and I found an angel investor and that kind of stuff but I was really doubtful about this until I watched this video.
    Thanks again for motivation.

What about using App builders to make Custom Food Delivery Apps for small local takeaways and restaurants, then charge them monthly for maintenance/modifications, …. That's after taking into account the cost of reselling plans that App Builder companies offer. What do you think?

    • @OverpassApps
      @OverpassApps  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

This makes sense from a business point of view, but my fear would always be the dependence you have on the app builder company. If they go out of business or don't comply with new platform rules, you are stuck in the middle. However, you can start to scale and test out the business model while using the app builder platform.

@@OverpassApps Thank you very much for your reply. As for the App builder company shutting down then I need 2 years maximum from them only. I would love to straight away sell my own Apps. But I'm learning coding at the moment. I want to get to a stage to be able to build a website and App for small businesses but I'm worried it would take time, like 1 to 2 years to be proficient. When it comes to Apps then I would learn Flutter perhaps as it's cross platform and so saves time. I would love to then build 1 website and App for Food Order and Delivery. Test it thoroughly at each stage to make sure it is secure. Then use it as the base to customize for various restaurants and takeaways. That would perhaps be 1st choice. But I fear that needs 1 to 2 years. This is why I had this idea. Its possible to replace the App builder with a custom App later, especially if that business has a mostly local consumer base who can be notified upon receiving 1 of their orders. But I have some more questions. 1- How secure are these App builders? 2- What is the quality of them? Bearing in mind this is for local based businesses only. They would already have a decent local customer base, mostly within 5 miles. Most of them already order from them using 3rd party Apps that charge the businesses perhaps £800 to join, then take 12% commissions per order and then a 50p service charge from customers. The small businesses complain about this a lot, and so do the customers. I asked some businesses why they don't get their own App which they can introduce to their customers offering loyalty offers to help them switch to that App and keep their customers. They said it was too expensive for them. Some £2000 up front Plus monthly fees for maintenance and so forth. This is what got me thinking. I want to give an alternative to these small businesses by only charging let's say £200 for the set-up which would include the small thermal receipt printer . Then a small maintenance charge monthly. It's actually a 'Retainer package' I want to set up, to make a secure recurring income. I know other important things would be needed such as training the staff how to use the App and how to market it to their customers. What do you think of my idea? Any suggestions?

thanks for the video, this is the first video I watched of your and I'm unclear of your business. can I ask? I hear you say you make apps and you also have an app, you also said you turn down work so that you don't get overloaded. Can you develop an app that does all the work for you? Or let me ask a different way, Why doesn't your app handle all your business?

80/20 rule. Cut out the 20% that weighs you down. And focus on producing more apps. It will never be a passive income if you have clients breathing down your neck. Great video though!
