It's breathing is very loud too. That's a sign of stress in a horse, I'd bet. The horse also moves close to the edge of the arena, ie moving away from her, trying to get away. She's an animal abuser

Charlotte rightly so should be banned from professional sport as the governing body needs to set an example that this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated.
But this person coming out now with a video they’ve had for at least two and a half years, the lawyer stated his client didn’t know it was wrong and continued to work with Charlotte after this event, I find it hard to believe that this person doesn’t know that whipping a horse continuously is not acceptable and the fact they have sat on this video for all this time which would allow more horses to potentially suffer and for this behaviour to continue but yet release the video two weeks before the biggest sporting event in the world which would have the biggest impact and most probably a bigger price tag for the video, this person has through their lawyer also stated that they witnessed further abuse but has only just said something, I find them complicit and disgusting to say they want to change dressage but have let this abuse go on for so long as this isn’t an isolated incident, I think the team around Charlotte who have turned a blind eye and to the sponsors who have continued to support her knowing what was going on.

Dressage Horses at this level are notoriously over trained and endure endless hours of mindless repetitive training and often end up exploding in mental distress -- Also - Rolkur - is a massive issue in the dressage world - a very disturbing sight to see a Horse in that sort of distress in full sight of judges in at the highest levels - lets also talk about the massive jumps on the cross country course now, the degree of difficulty is over the top and commonly injury producing if not ending - combine that with the present day pressures to complete and place in an event - Over training is seen in all Horse sports and only getting worse placing animals at real risk .

Animal abuse is abhorrent and abusers deserve to be exposed.
And make no mistake, the whistle-blower in this case is no angel either. They sat on this evidence for years, then released it, just days before Dujardin and the rest of the British Team were due to compete. That timing is 100% malicious.
Worse than that, why did the whistle-blower release the video at all, for animal welfare? Surely anyone truly concerned about animal welfare would want abuse stopped as quickly as possible. The whistle-blower in this case decided against that and instead sat on their knowledge and the evidence, for years. How much abuse might have taken place during the wasted years, we will never know. But we can be certain that the whistle-blower was complicit in any abuse that took place throughout the time they failed to take action. No wonder they want to remain anonymous.
Shame on Dujardin, and shame on the whistle-blower too, for putting their malice ahead of halting abuse.

Desjardin needs to be banned for life from any and all activities connected to horses and all animals. I love horses and used to be a dressage rider. Taught by an old Army Captain when I was 12 yrs old, and he was so kind. It was about legs and feet. No crop, whip or spurs, I have never heard of such a thing, and I am horrified this happened. Those poor horses. She was relentlessly whipping that horse. I am so devastated for any horse exposed to that woman or anyone like her! It's clear this is common for her... she called it a mistake! A MISTAKE?? It's animal abuse. A lifetime ban from access to horses, and all sentient beings. Charges, incarceration, jail term for minimum of 3 years. I am so utterly disgusted by this.

An issue with this atrocity is that it tars all who would train to highest levels with the same brush. My concern is that the entire equestrian world will now be under the threat of those who would see it all banned. She must be tried for cruelty in training. But the education of all who work or enjoy horses must be increased. I feel timing is due to impact for removing equine sport from Olympic competition.

No one has asked why the horses’ owner who is recording the video is laughing and than commenting at the end why this training is being used? The timing is very suspicious . Unfortunately the equestrian world is full of nefarious behaviour of trainers trying to unseat their rivals. At no point did the horse’s owner stop the training or give negative feedback. We all know who this trainer/horse owner is. although at some point the whip may have been used more forcefully we have not seen the entire training that day which would likely have been at least 45min. There is so much more to this story and I feel like we’ve all been hoodwinked into this narrative which is likely a result of a dispute that had nothing to do with that training but turned highly vindictive.

This kind of thing, and many other abusive practices are carried out routinely and pervasively in the training of the highest level of the sport. This is NOT an isolated behaviour at all. Im sure the severity and frequency differs from trainer to trainer but it happens across the board. Anyone that states that these horses are not subjected to extreme pressure and stress on a regular basis are either ignorant, oblivious or straight out deceitful.
The FEI has been fully aware of the situation with the most elite competitors actions for years and has only now decided to start pulling up riders and trainers. This is only a result of people making too much noise about it and it being impossible to outwardly ignore it now without being called out publicly. It’s about DAMB TIME FEI!!!!

Bull whip. Get feedback, listen and respond. This discipline will not survive without better behavior.

All equestrian competition should be stopped. So much severe abuse is accepted in all areas. When competition exists abuse will exist

No -- this sort of behavior should be banned, not dressage itself, which, if practiced in line with its very own philosophy is about being in tune/balanced with your horse with no force or pain.

Wicked and her evil ways have caught up with her. I hope she eventually realizes what kind of person she is and is able to look back with remorse and try and make amends. No one will ever look at her in any other way now. Now that we know the truth. I almost almost feel sorry for her.
