I absolutely believe everyone should work food service at least once in their life, it will make you appreciate any other job you have in life. Also you learn not to be a jerk to those who doing you the favor of preparing your meal for you.
Amanda Harris working at Taco Bell for an entire year, and those customers prepared me for motherhood. And I'm not joking! I had people throw food at me, even though I was 6 months pregnant.
Food service will be my kids first job, no doubt.
I agree with you SO MUCH! I've been in the food industry for only two months and my perspective has changed completely. It definitely humbles you and makes you understand that is not as easy as it seems. Now when I go to a fast food or restaurant I smile bigger than before and always thank them for their service. Also, tip your waiters, PLEASE.

i truly appreciate that this women´s channel is not entirely dedicated to makeup and fashion. although i do enjoy those videos, i find it way more enlightening and entertaining when you guys show us strong, independent women that do what are considered to be more of a "man´s job"
i would argue that making sandwiches would never be considered a mans job, but i get what you mean lmao
I feel like I've seen studies suggesting that cooking is seen as women's work if it's in the home, but in the restaurant industry it's very male-dominated. So as soon as women want to actually make money for their traditional household duties it's frowned upon lol. Really interesting either way
At the restaurant I work at I'm one of the few long term cooks, most other girls there work front line.

I'm a food lover and professional cook and I have to say a messy sandwich that's sticking out the sides and has sauce dripping everywhere is significantly harder to eat than a well made one. It might taste the same but the experience of eating it will be different, which is something you have to take into account when you make food for the public. Nobody likes having to clean the side of their hand off with a napkin after every single bite and scooping the contents of their sandwich back into their sandwich. It's also just a respect thing. If you get a sloppy sandwich it says the chef/cook didn't care enough to take the time to make it the right way.

Okay, I don't know how much of the commentary was jokes... but these ladies are doing this for the very first time and you're getting FREE sandwiches. Complaining about the wait is just rude. They did a great job with this.
I think they were giving an opinion, thinking as if it was a professional food truck with professionals working etc. 20 minutes to wait on a sandwich is a really long time. I'm a chef at a busy restaurant in my city and we can take out a pork belly with crackling.. from scratch to order in 20 minutes. A sandwich would take 5-10 minutes.
So as a professional and if it was just any random food truck - I would think 15-20 minutes is a bit too long to wait for a sandwich but since I know they were beginners etc.. I think they did pretty well.

nabila n not necessarily. There's usually two elections per year, one in the spring and one in the fall. Spring tends to have more local/state ballot measures so it is not as consistent, they also tend to be smaller ballots since politicians expects a smaller turn out. Where as the fall elections tend to have bigger issues since more people are aware/turn out for the vote.

if they work in a hotel, they should get a taste for being cleaning crew-making beds, scrubbing bathrooms, checking rooms, etc. those sheets can get super heavy turning over beds and setting things up. there's a lot more that goes into it then most people think, and it'd be neat to see.

As someone who works in a kitchen setting, made me very happy hearing kitchen lingo from Devin lol the way they feel is my everyday. Like an adrenaline rush!
