The genius of Alex Lifeson on full display in this video is, as is often the case, overlooked, because the other two guys are so fucking good. What an amazing collection of talents the three of them were.
Rush has been my favorite band for over 45 years. But "Mission" always makes me tear-up for some reason with its beautiful chord progressions and harmonies.
Hundreds of songs and every one of them is so uniquely different and appealing. With Geddy's voice in top form the band reaches ethereal levels of excellence. A band for the ages!
Every member of rush took their turn and played their instruments like a lead guitar solo from a heartfelt meaningful song in most of the music they made. Who would have ever thought that a bass guitar could be played with so much expression and emotion to match the melodic and inconcievable guitar medleys and extraordinary lead riff's that Alex brought to each and every song. And the new guy? Well the cohesive glue that moulded and held it all together along with the writing of all those amazing tracks! Still here and will never be forgotten in the hearts of all of us fans that grew up with and still take deep meaning from all the fantastic music they made for us. 100th Comment: The majesty, command, and awesome force from 3:48 to 4:23.
