I'm a relatively new subby so I'm kinda flitting around your channel. I never would have thought to use zip ties for a junk journal binding but I love that idea! Thanks for sharing!

I like scrapbooking, junk journaling, mixed media canvas but majority of videos use fancy often rather expensive papers (prints) and doilies and decorations... and i also got trapped in buying all that material. well, for that kind of creativity just take off that word scrap from scrapbook and junk from journaling since you are using fresh new products. what Kelly is showing is the original junk journal for me, unique creation, paper mastery on higher level. She is showing you the entrance to endless options, your fantasy is the only limit...

It is not your fault as to why videos are hard to find Kelly. TH-cam doesn't make it easy. I think they should fix it so we can search by other means that just name. Dates would be nice.

I love your binding idea! I will and make a journal like that. What kind of paper I'm not sure jet. Or card stock or like scrappaper or bought. Maybe with some eyelets to make it a bit sturdier!

I would love to see how you do the journal that's put together with ribbon. I could swear I heard you say you didn't use a needle. I'm sitting here thinking, how in the world does she keep it together, if she doesn't use a needle. Thank you for the video. You have the defination of a junk journal the way I understood it to be the first time I heard the term. I tried scrapbooking & altered books, but found that you have to spend a lot of money to do them. So when I heard junk journal & that you use stuff you have laying around the house, I thought, that's for me." Then I watched some videos & found that these people are buying these kits & I'm now thinking , I can't do this either." Then I found your video. Hot dog! You got it goin' on, girl. I'm 72 & retired, so I can't just corner the boss in his office & ask for a crafting raise. I have all kinds of stuff laying around that I can use in a junk journal. And I find on your video that I can even. make my own gesso & not try to figure out how I'm going to come up with money to buy it. I found a tutorial on how to make my own ink dyes, so I'm getting my stuff togetber to get started. God bless you for showing me that I don't have to go broke to do something I love. I would just like to point out that "we all" DO NOT have tissue paper and napkins laying around in our homes. I know that that's not the point, most people have access of papers, if no-where else, there should be some free advertisement papers and free newspapers and all kinds of brochures and cards and leaflets and what nots.

at Dollar General...
Yup. I heard about it on QIXL. You probably never heard of QI - it's a quiz show type of thing here in the UK, chaired by Stephen Fry, and with permanent sidekick, Alan Davies and 3 other guests. Stephen asks a question and the others reply with humourous and sometimes correct answers. Then Stephen supplies the correct answer or other interesting facts - in this case it seems that if you say the thing you are searching for repeatedly, then you find it much quicker than you otherwise would.
QI stands for Quite Interesting. (XL just means it's the full length version of the show not the dreadful idea of broadcasting a shortened edited version...)
Oh and if they are wrong - or just too predictable - they get a claxon.
Recycle convenience centers all across America are an excellent source of materials for junk journals. Why buy stuff to create junk when others will buy it and through it away...

Junk journal is to use recycled items to help the environment or some people can't afford journals so u can make ur own. It's fun and something different
