This song is as surreal as the film itself. I just noticed how profoundly intimate the final phrase of the oboe is. You can hear the breathing and key strokes. Thats the closest you are to mizore in the whole film, fittingly at the climax when she is fully expressing herself
In the film I also noticed there are times where you hear Nozomi's breaths between notes as well, and they sound shaky and uneven, as its when she is coming to her realizations about Mizore. All beautiful details.
"Where words fall, music speak" - Andersen Guess that's true. Such a powerful melodies, an emotional music that treat Nozomi's & Misore's. Emotions. The oboe at the end is Misore's taking a flight. You can feel everything through a music without speaking. Kyoto Animation. Love u
This actually is the full version of the 3rd movement (the piece when all 4 movements are played in their full versions is around 22 minutes iirc), the one emphasized in the Liz and the Blue Bird movie is a shortened version of the 3rd movement, and the Oath's Finale version is a "compacted" version of the whole piece (though the whole competition piece is already in the Liz and the Blue Bird OST)
@@ESDMN Can't really blame them since it is kinda hard to find a full version of this, plus it is pretty tedious to listen to and animate six minutes worth of a piece. Oh and the parts you mentioned are pretty cool too. Though for me I'm more of a fan of the part at 1:42, reminds me of a slower Mozart (recurring melodies in a piece)
@@Miyuki.. Definitely, yes. I'm a Japanese and I've seen it twice! Besides, going to go to the movie theater this weekend in Tokyo. FYI, I've got a new sequel of the novel "Sound! Euphonium" in which Kumiko is in her third grade and the captain of Kitauji High School's Concert Band.

i was really rooting for them too go to nationals, since Mizore and Nozomi was my fav characters, (Spoilers V) too see them get silver made me cry in the end.
There were two screenings of Liz And The Blue Bird a few months ago in London. I saw both to get the most out of it since there is no way to buy the film on DVD or Blu Ray in this country without spending a lot of money by importing it and buying a region free system (I hope that changes soon but its probably too late now). Seems like the audience may have realised this too since they were both nearly sold out. Shame really because I loved how subtle, professional, and experimental this film was. And even if it was the only two times that I will see this film I would rank amongst my favourite films for sure. My only problem was that it felt like a blur : /
damn damn damn.... the piece is beautiful,breath-taking and emotional... same reason why kitauji lost during the contest, this kind of piece is great in operas and such but in competitions it sorely lacks after all not all viewers or judges will appreciate this piece thus Shuichi getting benched for nothing xD
imo Mikazuki no Mai (the piece from last year) lacked the emotion this one has, while this piece lacked the preceding piece's vibrant technique and dynamics. Honestly hoping for more Kumiko x Shuichi moments if they plan on making an adaptation of their lives as 3rd years (and some more non-discreet expressions of jealousy from Kumiko instead of that soap bottle throw that Reina did)
Those are sixteenth notes. It some music sheets it shows eighth notes with a / under it. The / means to divide the eight notes which are sixteenth notes. But if it shows 2 slashes you have to divide the eighth notes to sixeenth notes then to 32nd notes.
