I can totally relate with the "roots" on your taste buds. I had NEVER tried African food until my mid 20s and was like wow! I realized I spent so much money on Mexican and Chinese food but not African. Since I had it I've never stopped eating it. I know the feeling man.

The cous cous may not be cous cous but attieke it’s made out of yams. We have different types of cous cous we have one made out of milet one made out of yam and traditional moroccan weat made cousous.
It's not even couscous, it's really rice. Senegalese rice is smaller because It was broken twice, a lot of people find it weird if they are not familiar

I’ve only had East African food because of where I live, but it looks like West African food may be way better.
